Facts!!! My mother actually told me she was going to raise me me hard, and have me go without because she that’s what she went through and she wanted me to know how it feels. I also wasn’t allowed to go to college because she didn’t. I did have to work as a teenager to fend for myself, but plenty of times my mother took my whole paycheck, because she was entitled to it as she gave birth to me. She also jacked my credit up before I was 20. Now here’s the kicker, years later I brought this up to my mother’s brothers and they all said she’s lying. That my grandmother gave her everything and my mother was just a narcissist.

Big Tip: Be VERY careful who you date and marry. Nothing can ruin someone's future like a terrible relationship. You like bad boys and wild girls? You are gonna ruin your life. Find someone who is kind, loving, supportive, smart and fair; someone who isn't needy and won't blow your money or have you in a rough situation. Also, DO NOT and I repeat...DO NOT become a single parent (no offense to the author of this video.) Too many girls are having kids too early and by accident. I point out women in particular because men still make more than women on average and are more likely to be financially stable enough to handle a single father home. Women are more at risk of becoming poor. Marry before you carry. It is a statistical fact, that single motherhood is almost a fast track to poverty. It is very stressful and difficult coming up when you are stuck with another mouth to feed for 18 years, all by yourself. Don't be sleeping around with every person you think is attractive. Be intentional. Guard your womb, reserve your seed. Build a firm, loving, mature relationship with a man or woman. Before you get married, make sure you both have beliefs that places marriage on a sacred level. Neither one of you should accept that divorce is a light thing. Once you've established a true bond with each other, then bring children into the equation. You both work together to increase your finances and make the home a smooth place of selfless love and stability. Again, who you decide to pair yourself with, can change the entire trajectory of your future. Be wise.

Point 3 is doable but 1 and 2 is completely out of one's control. Being a single parent is very tricky the partner can leave, cheat on you, die so how can you tell people to do something they can't control. And for the first point people can change their true colours yes im not saying people should date with blinders but if only you knew sociopaths and nacs then please come back with better Advice

I never had any guidance in life. I wish I had guidance when I was younger. So I can be better established. Also, in your 20s it’s a different mindset. You think you have all this time. You think you’ll get a job after college. In reality, you don’t have all this time. And chances are you won’t get the job you want after college. I thought I’d be raking it in by now. Time goes faster than we think. I was just reflecting back on life and I haven’t gotten anywhere whatsoever. The last 4 years have passed me by. I have doubt about my future. 😕
@dialac1
@dialac1 3 месяца назад
@@Msangel06 you have to start somewhere. I’m African. I came to America alone at age 18. My parents and siblings are still in Africa. I came here on a full scholarship to attend college. When I got here, my plan was to do engineering but several people told me I should go into nursing cos it’s cheaper, faster and I’ll always have a job. As a man, I felt awkward going into nursing and then I met several male nurses who were doing great financially and they are the ones that gave me the advice. I started out as a home health nurse, then went to med surg and then became an icu nurse. While as an icu nurse, I got other licenses like ccrn, TNCC for trauma and also trained in cardiac, neuro and trauma icu. After 5 years working as a nurse, I started working as a travel nurse wayyy before covid. What I earn in 1 week covers all my bills for a month. It has been a true struggle getting to this level. My 20s were not fun. I was working hard and grinding my way thru it. My 30s have been way better than my 20s cos I can buy whatever I want and do whatever I want. My advice to you is it’s not too late to start. You have to start something and commit to it. Even if you go into the trades. I know plumbers and carpenters making well over 200k a year. I know a handyman making over 250k a year. There are many areas you can go into. College isn’t everything but as long as you start somewhere and always live below your means.

Great video! I’d like to add ladies and gentlemen to not wait to take control of your heath with healthy eating habits and exercise. Too many people waiting till their 30’s, and by then a lot irreversible damage is already done. Makes no sense to be financially secure, but you’re miserable because you’re unhealthy. People are having heart attacks in their 20’s and 30’s 😩

I’m 26 and I definitely have struggled a lot because I had an abusive parent who couldn’t teach me anything worthwhile, so I’ve been basically meandering through my late teens and early 20s. I didn’t even really have much fun because I spent a lot of time isolated from people both by choice and because of the pandemic. I did finally start school at 25 and have a clearer idea of what I want to do, but I’m definitely still figuring it all out. 25 was a big year of transformation for me and 26 is continuing that trend and expanding upon it. I'm 46, and this is one of the simplest, best videos to share with those younger than us. Our 20's were such a blur, and we were raised in the Different World/School Daze era where we were told to just go to college, and everything would be alright. My first job out of college was in the Corporate world, but I was taught about investing by my older coworkers. Then, working in the banking industry further piqued my financial interests. It's so important to live below your means, start investing early, never be the smartest person in the room, don't be afraid to ask questions, and take your time! Time, like you said, is the biggest thing young people have in their favor.

It's nice to have some fun but set yourself some goals too. Some of those goals may involve you spending some time alone. Those friends might still be around when you're done taking care of yourself.
