Rushing into uni is the biggest mistake, my dad is a doctor with a beautiful house and car, he started uni at 28. He prioritised finding a partner and having a child so he won't be lonely and so he can experience the strongest relationship one can have. He is my best friend.

I mean she's not wrong. You can feel like you wasted your time if you don't balance it out properly. She is right about that. Some people have too much fun and don't save a lot and others work too much and don't save a lot. I remember telling a coworker how I had over $150k and he was telling me how much he regret messing around but he had many cool stories while I had none because I was always saving money. I'm turning 30 this year and I'm going to celebrate my birthday for once by going to Vegas. I'm about done saving the maximum I can just to acquire things faster. My 30s are going to be about balance. So be it if I have to wait longer to reach my goals.

I’m 36 and a doctor. I have been practicing medicine for three years on my own now. I spent my entire 20’s in a library buried in books. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I’m miserable at my job that I sacrificed so much to get. I never partied, experimented with anything, enjoyed my youth. I had to be the responsible one at all times so I didn’t mess up my path. Now, I’m single, hate my job, and have nothing to show for all of my hard work. If I have any advice to younger people don’t take things so serious, enjoy your short time on earth. Whoever said that "you've been through the most important things in your life by 35" is so misguided imo. After my father passed, my mom (44) was a beaten, broken down shell of a woman, having been the enabler of an alcoholic for 5 years straight. After he left us she was a mess. Now she is living her best life. Truly. She is traveling on her own with friends (which she hadn't ever done). She is fulfilling her lifelong dreams unapologetically. And that is something she definitely hadn't ever experienced. She's around 55 now. And I can confidently say she has never been happier.

32 here and I'll say there is no right or wrong way to living life. Just do what truly makes you happy. For me, that meant traveling, meeting new people and still making money somehow. Sure my peers were getting married, buying houses and climbing the corporate ladder, but in the end, if it isn't what you want, then what they do doesn't matter. And don't be afraid to hit 30. I still travel, make a good amount of money without sacrificing my hobbies or personal time and still feel like I'm in my 20s. I know I shouldn't do it, that social media is usually a highlight reel of someone's life, but sometimes it can be hard. I literally did absolutely nothing this year. I had no job, I had no friends, didn't lose any weight. I refuse for this year to be the same. I have many goals this year that I know I'm going to hit. I’m 43. If you spent your 20s working hard and are now somewhat regretting it, don’t. You did the right thing and you’ll know in 20 years. Money is important and if you have it, that will carry you to the next level. When that card declines, you don’t get to move forward until the money clears. Being a dentist is wonderful and congratulations. Keep working and let life happen. Just a heads up, I’m in doctoral school and I didn’t go back to school until I was 34. I partied for you and now I’m paying for it. Currently I have a fifteen page paper due and man oh man, it’s tough. But I’ve been married 20 years and have two kids. What a great video. Im 29 going on 30. As a guy, I think the pressure during your 20's is a little different from a girl. But! I work in financial planning and meet clients aged 60-80 all day long and their stories and experiences are eye opening! If you think life just falls into place and youll have all the answers in your 20's or by 30, you're wrong. I meet wealthy people all day long who are still "searching" for themselves. "Life is about the journey, not the destination". These clients of mine have taught me its great to be critical of yourself and strive to be better. But life if always filled with twists and turns and just when you think you've cracked the code, something will change. They taught me money isn't everything, its important but not everything. They taught me relationships are about 'giving' not receiving. They taught me life is short and before you know it, you'll be at the finish line, in your 60's or 70's looking back. So don't look back with regret.

I'm grateful this got recommended to me. Currently 25 and I was so embarrassed to share my age since I was 24 because my boyfriend at the time told me "you're only getting older from here... you don't have a career", indicating that he disapproved of my seasonal work lifestyle (to cope with mental health being undiagnosed at the time while on a waitlist). It's unfortunate that I was having dark thoughts towards myself from valuing his opinion over my own sanity which of course, I regret. Now, I want to take a step back from romance to build my life on my own terms. I love true love so much, but I feel empty not being loved with all of my flaws and failings. My biological parents might see me as the daughter who no one will marry and provide children for, but frankly, I realized that marriage and family should be a personal choice. Not a goal or a means of "legacy".

All things on earth - money, wealth, fame, realtionships, people our bodies are temporary and will fade away one day. Jesus Christ is eternal and He can save our wretched hearts, fulfill us with His Holy Spirit and save us from sin. Biblical explanation of the Gospel: God doesn’t want anybody in hell, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23) The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). Since we have all sinned, we all deserve hell. Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will go to hell. Yes, even if you have lied once in your life, you are sentenced to hell - that's how high God's standards are of moral perfection because God is holy and righteous, there is not one sin in Him. For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ - for He lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day. None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Our carnal mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's moral law and it never will (Romans 8:7). We hate the thought of God for the same reason a criminal hates a policeman - we know we have sinned against God and are guilty of it and we don't want to be damned. No good works will ever save you. You can't earn salvation by good works, because God will judge us for our sin. Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life and He died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) We aren’t saved by our good works, but only by the grace of God through faith in Christ. ''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven only IF we repent and trust in Him. This is how you can get saved from sin and hell - repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Get to know Him by reading God's Word. So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13) ''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15) ''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19) Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin. While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6) (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) ''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7) If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousnes - to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God. You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son. ''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17) ''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10) You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ. As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so. In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'' ''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19) ''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41) ''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21) ''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4) ''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12) Please get right with God and get to know Jesus Christ personally today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left! "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32) Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you! Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

I'll be turning 30 in December and I think the 20s are meant to be a sort of gym at life. Finding out who you are, making and changing decisions, see what you are really good at just by trying different things. Meet people, have goals, grow spiritually, get to know yourself. I lost three years due to illnesses and mental health issues 19-22 and at 23 I felt like a failure but was commited to change my life and face my fears. And I did. Almost three degrees now (philosophy and acting), 5 years of piano, 6 languages, stable emotions and sense of self, more confident, even returned to and then grew into my faith a lot. Left a toxic relatioship and focused on myself so now I feel like I can spend my 30s giving to other. Traveled not much but there's time for that. I think that growing inside is the most important goal: suffering and doing stuff without growth is really sad.

Thank you Akta for being so sincere and so open in sharing your thoughts and experiences while you were in your 20s. Having gone through some unpleasant episodes of anxiety and depression, looking back I wish someone would have taught me these lessons earlier. Despite of what I have (a degree from a top tier university, a job in big consulting firm, a loving boyfriend whom I fell in love with at first sight, a look/physique that most around me consider attractive), I spent the majority of my early 20s feeling lost and anxious. I desperately wanted to find a "right answer" for who I needed to be. While I seem to have everything sorted out from the outside, I was having daily struggles with my social life. I felt I wasn't good enough to make or to keep friends because I didn't own a $2M home to invite them over. I felt embarrassed to introduce my boyfriend to my friends because most of them thought I should be with someone "more mature and more successful". But who says you must own a big house in order to invite people over? And who are those friends to judge your choice of partner? I think a lot of these fears and anxieties came from observing the gaps and discrepancies between who I was at the time and what I believed to be the "right way of living". It took me 7 years to realize that there is no single "right answer" and there is no rush in getting to the the "right answer". Just embrace what life has to offer and be patient. I feel similarly. By 25, I felt the need to have a career, family, place to myself, etc. Tons of things I expected out of myself did not become a reality and I became bitter with myself because of that. Most of my disappointment came from the career aspect, because that is the gateway for a few other things I wanted to have my by mid twenties. Got a degree in a field I wasn't excited about because I went straight to college after highschool and I stuck to it...only to be depressed about the career options I had in front of me because I felt too pressured or scared to change majors. I think the best thing I did that changed my perspective and made me a lot happier was that I forgave myself for my shortcomings. To others that are in their twenties and "don't have it figured out" quite yet...IT'S OKAY :) . Let your twenties be a time of trial and error. Figure out what makes you tick and what you really love and set yourself up for success and happiness at 30+. Do things that not only make you successful, but fulfilled as well. Forgive yourself for not being where you want to be and just keep your head up and keep working at it. I'm excited for my 30s because of this. I didn't have it figured out, nor was I happy from the ages of 18-23. That being said, I switched to a much more enjoyable job at the cost of a massive salary cut, went back to school for a degree that I actually want lol, and I'm looking forward to the next 1 or 2 years and see where life takes me. Forgiving my mistakes and moving forward in a direction I enjoy is all I need to feel much happier and fulfilled.

Honestly I am 25 now, and I have only achieved what I could. Recently I had to quit my job because they didn't appreciate my efforts, this was I thought a dream job, where I could be in control of things, but they turned on me. Afterwards I started learning Mandarin Chinese, but I wasn't happy so I am now going to reduce it. I am struggling to know what makes me happy and sadly I am envious of a lot of you. My 20s were spent suffering tremendously with my mental health in addition to owning a home and having children with a narcissistic man that made me lose everything in the end (except my kids ❤️). I'm turning 29 tomorrow and definitely feel that I lost all of my 20s in struggles. It's a sad thought, but at least I'm going out of my 20s in a muuuch better mental state than I entered them. That thought is a consolation. Despite missing out on so much, I grew so much as a person. I'll never get that lost time back. I won't have cool stories to tell from when I was younger. But I've built myself up to be a much better person for the rest of my life and, God willing, I still have plenty of more years to enjoy. So now I look forward to making the best out of my last year of my 20s, and having an amazing time in my 30s and beyond.

Be happy you are not asking this question at 37. With all your acquired wisdom at 27, you can now see a much clearer path in life - what you want/don't want, like/don't like etc. Now you can make a plan for the next 10-15 years, so that you don't have to ask this question at 37! Remember also that the journey is the important part of life not so much the destination.

I'm almost 24. I took the unconventional route after highschool and went to a community college. After just one year, I realized that college wasn't for me and I wanted to take a shot at acting. But back then I was very immature and depressed, so I sat around and didn't work for a while and felt sorry for myself. I was pretty lazy and whiny. Eventually I got a warehouse job and that absolutely killed my soul because it was so mundane. So I put in my two weeks and took an acting class. It was so fun. I also got a job at a department store. The pandemic happened the following year so I spent a lot of my time isolated with my thoughts. I struggled with self worth issues in relationships, so I hardly dated anyone because I was afraid of being left. The following year I auditioned for several local shows and got a lead in all of them, and the people around me realized that I have immense talent and I should pursue acting. I met so many wonderful people from this, and while I won't say many are close friends, it did get me out of my shell more. I recently started therapy for my self worth issues around relationships. I highly recommend therapy for people that struggle. I made so many improvements with my life but that one area always gave me anxiety and fear so I finally sucked it up and took therapy. By next year I hope to move off to somewhere with more opportunities. I sometimes get worried that I will end up wasting my youth, or that I am not doing enough or having enough experiences. I don't have much of a social life unless I am doing a show. Some people my age are married yet I have hardly dated in my life due to wanting to fix my mental health. Some people have their own home but I still live with my parents so I can save more and move off. Some people party all the time but I have barely ever done that even though I would like to more. I do have some positives to look at. I am in shape, I know what I want to do with my life to some degree, and I am not in student loan debt. Especially with me being an actor, I am not "playing it safe" or conventionally so to speak, and sometimes I worry that I could be over 30 and back where I started. But I feel like that is a risk that is worth it because it truly satisfies my soul. My motivation also lies in proving those who ever doubted me wrong. I think in our twenties, we can be very perfectionistic about ourselves. Therapy is helping me with that, but I constantly think about how I want my life to eventually look like vs how it is right now. I have ambition and idealism, but sometimes that can make you forget what is important. In my twenties I have learned a lot so far. I have learned what I want to do (at least I think so). I have learned how to cook. I have gotten more muscular and fit and I have built the habit of exercising everyday. I unlearned a lot of things that were outright false from my teen years. I realized how absolutely stupid I was back then. I will probably think that way about my current self ten years from now lol, but at least now I admit that I know absolutely nothing about life. Some people I have talked to in their late twenties say it gets better halfway through. Still, they are in relationships, live independently, have somewhat more stable careers, etc. It's scary to me that I could be falling behind or wasting my life. Or perhaps this is just where I am right now. You have suberp video quality by the way. I'm certain that the more videos you make the more subscribers you will gain!

Bo ho..... You have a lot more than most. - This is a life realization and it starts in your 20s. I met many people in their 20s who also seemed disillusioned. It's like humans are told what life is or what it should be (TV shows, films and now social media) Up util your 20s you are grouped into groups... year groups and your generation seems a big group moving in the same direction with the same expectations. It seems that everyone is doignthe same thing. I remember people not really wanting or enjoying going out to drink and dance, but they did it anyway as it seemed to be expected in that age group and that is 'how you meet people'. The only people who I met who were 'happy' were happy because they were given money by their parents and support. Their life was paid for - they worked but it was more like 'independence money' - to buy clothes, shop, socialize - while the rent and study books were paid for by their parents. Most people in their 20s discover that they can't do what is expected of them due to money and that a social life isn't an episode of 'Friends' as most house shares do end up the same as yours, with people not speaking to each other. The biggest lesson in my 20s was, that most people are lying when they present a social, professional and love success - Your 20s is when you feel like you are not being what you are supposed to be doing or being. In your 20s you think people care about your success and take notice and value you if you are cool, interesting and popular - YOu think it's important to be liked and likable...... In your 40s you realize that all people care about is your failures, and judge you on them - And failure is seen as not having enough money - You don't even have to be a good person... Popularity is only by what you have, not by who you are - as who you are is what you have done and if you do not have a car, an apártment, cash, nice clothes, all of those things.... no one cares about you. Being popular isn't about being funny, having interesting stories, being intelligent or kind... Its just about what you have. It's very sad. In your 40s you realized what you should have known in your 20s = People don't care about you, so do your own thing for yourself. Like most youtubers... being a 'victim' sells and also having a great life style sells, so.... here it is... A highly qualified, beautiful woman in a great apatment complaining about how she suffered.... = PERFECT upload.

I am 29 and in uni. Spent most my early 20 figuring out what went wrong in my life and reassess what I wanted to do in life after I got kicked out in highscool. I took the balance route and didn't rush anything: no uni, no work, no relationship. I focused mainly on keeping in touch with the friends I have. Now that I know what I need to do, I am confident that my 30s are gonna be amazing with the direction I am heading right now. Also I may be poor or slow compared to others financially and academically, but I am the happiest I could be with what little I have. It is most important that you feel comfortable with yourself before you trynna meet any kind of expectations.

Man, the feeling of loneliness as a result of having basically no real friends after leaving college (like nobody you talk to often or hv deep convos or go out with) is so real. At 22 I've never had a bf, done school online and only go out when I order stuff online and need to collect, or when my mom wants me to go with her to the supermarket. Its so depressing at times but since I'm not on social media so much it doesn't bother me a lot. I'm just grateful for my family and the fact that I can work from home and fund my education while making good money with foreign clients. I hope to have a good life at the end of the day!

My older brother took care of me after my father passed away,he was married at 21,divorced at 29,his second wife died of cancer, when he was 33,and he started again from rock bottom ... This suumer,he turned 37 and myself 21,he called me and said "I took care of you as long as i could, and i will protect you till i die,but i want you to not rush anything,to live your life and don't stress out over things you can't control, learn from my mistakes, and don't repeat them",and something that moment changed in me.

The timeline set by society doesn't have to be your personal timeline. There's no fun in life if you just make it a big to- do list. I don't think you or anyone else can really "waste" their 20s. Whatever you did or didn't do will just shape you for the future. Numbers and age are really things we shouldn't care about as much as we do lol. Loved the topic of this video!! :)

I definitely agree, as I said in the video, your 20s are the defining decade for a completely different reason to have a big list of things to accomplish! It’s a weird thing that we feel any pressure by our age because of society! I’m so glad you liked it :)

Numbers and Ages are something we should be caring about. What we shouldn't be caring about are Instagram feeds of "wonderful" lives. U feel like ur 20s wasn't "fun" enough because u set these standards of "fun" from PoP culture. The reality of life is that there are consequences for our actions. So We can't really do whatever we want and expect life to be smooth. We humans beings have biological clocks on us. That's just the reality. The society encourages us to follow that timeline because it's a time tested timeline that's succesful. U can choose to ignore it and live with fake positivity, but reality isn't so positive.

@@demonizedhuman941 Yeap, another good take my friend. The very same people that talk about "society" and how is it deciding things for them are usually the ones who let society decide for them what the fulfillment means(through lets say instagram). Just ignore the media, find what you like to do and do it.

I really appreciated hearing this. I’m 23 and going through so many life changes/facing so many decisions. And it is comforting to hear that not everyone is loving/thriving in their 20s, and also demystifying those societal expectations and clarifying what’s important and what’s real. Thank you.

Thank you so much for watching, it’s so hard making decisions, all you can really do is decide what makes you happy now without worrying too much about what comes next :) z

Just turned 23, I feel lost as ever. Purposeless, feel like I pursued a useless degree, most of my friends were just “friends,” lost my job a few months ago, my channel hasn’t really succeeded despite my efforts, everything has gone far from what I planned. Seeing this gave me a sense of peace for a second. I hope I’m able to make a change soon regardless of the timeline. I feel it puts too much pressure on most of us. I went to college right out of high school despite being burned out, I finished too many AP courses in high school so I couldn’t switch majors once I thought about it more. Graduated quickly but while also wasting my social life completely and entering a field I felt was less profitable and did not care for that much. Meanwhile, one of my closest friends has been in school for like 6 years, still with his hs sweetheart, and has enjoyed life to the fullest with friends and family. Not enough people give taking your time and enjoying things a chance at being an option. Loved the commentary and I like that you actually put artistic efforts into the video through your shots and editing. Hope your channel goes far, you’ve definitely earned yourself a fan :)

I was hustling during 20's and neglected everything else. from partying to growing a bigger network of friends and now that I am in my 30"s, i regret. it is all about balance and I was too extreme. I don't know what to do to fix my 30's

I wasted my 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. You get used to it after a while. The term "wasted" is subjective opinion. Rarely do we see the garden we have sown.

I can relate to this video so much. I’m turning 31 on Monday Oct 17th, and I feel like my 20s on up to me turning 30 were the worst years of my life. I really thought my life would be so different from what it’s been. I pray things start going up for me.
