I've watched Attack of the Clones SO many times! But recently I watched the Arena Battle in point 25x speed and I found a LOT of hidden details that you miss while watching the movie at full speed. So, here's a compilation of all the different things I've found. Let's begin.

What the prequels have that the disney sequels don't is soul because they don't feel like star wars they feel like marvel movie wearing a star wars skin with a dash of bipolar disorder.

All these guys were actually filmed separately from different angles on sand and surrounded by blue screen for a few minutes. Each of them had their own fighting style, all of them used some Force push, some swinging, some kicks and rolls, and a death. So during editing Lucas could look at a wide variety of them and choose whatever he liked.

Yup, I could absolutely tell the jedi that kicks the droid down and stabs it was done several times from a couple angles. Same with rolling guy, duel wield, etc.

The best part is that a lot of the extras used in the Prequels were cast and crew. Being allowed to be part of scenes like this on top of working on a SW movies must have been so exciting.

there is a promotional image of the 2003 AT-TE which has Jedi Bob in it, with a blue lightsaber unlike his regular green one. So maybe!

One detail you notice when slowed down and look for it, is that Jango Fett was trying to use his jet pack to get away before he was killed. We saw the first sparks after the beast (I forget the name) nearly ran him over. When Mace was about to cut his head off, the jet pack sparked again showing he was trying to us it to escape. It’s the small subtle details that not many people notices.

still, it wasn't the first jedi he fought and he didn't use anti-jedi weapons. Neither the flamethrower or a wrist rocket. Hell, even that poison dart launcher would be better than a blaster since even blocked it could've melted and striked Windu with molten steel

My friends and I all made up Jedi characters that we would play as with our toy lightsabers. Whenever we watched this movie, we used to pick out random Jedi from the background and say that was our character (I was the guy dual wielding green and blue sabers).

@@acatthatlookslikehitler1277 OT might nt be visiually nearly as impressive as sequels at 1st sight, but its duels were much heavier when it came to the story and deveopment of the characters making it much better. Meanwhile, prequels duels might not have as heavy story beats as the OT, the coreography there was much better and they looked more impressive than sequels.

The dual wielding ones are from the Jedi who picked up the lightsabers from the fallen Jedi. There’s lots who met their fate in this battle so I imagine many Jedi picked up their former colleagues lightsabers

From 8:11 to 8:14 you will see a young teenager padawan to the left side of the screen. He is holding a blue lightsaber and looks to be no older than 13 years old. My theory is that he was the winner of the doritos contest where you got to be an extra for attack of the clones, and get yourself made into a custom jedi action figure with magnetic hands to force grab the metal lightsaber hilts. I never noticed him before today, but he is the only teenager present during this battle, so it makes sense.

Happy Revenge of the Fifth, and yes they did just have actors swinging their blades and added droids later it should be on the Episode 2 behind the scenes stuff And considering this was 19 years ago, and this tech was being pioneered I'd say this is a great artistic and engineering feat It's not always perfect, but damn if it isn't amazing

In the film, just before this part, we see Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon being escorted into the surviving ring of Jedi by a couple of battle droids. I think they've lost their lightsabers at this point so I'm guessing he picked up a green one as the droids opened fire again

When I was studying game development art I had a teacher who had worked on the battle of geonosis (and a bunch of other famous movie scenes) it was pretty cool hearing him explain the process. He was an animator that used a lot of maths and programming in his animation, so he basically created the algorithm to control and randomise the clones and droids in some of the wide sweeping shots.

When I was like 5 or 6 I’d watch this fight literally at least once a week on the tv. Every time I’d watch it I’d look for little details like the ones discovered in this video. It’s cool because I actually know I lot of the stuff that he found out in the video

One thing that I'll always point out, Jango's head can be seen separating from the helmet with the shadows.

@@simplymadness8849 No. One Jedi followed a man who tried to kill him. The Jedi and the senator went to save him. Then the natives attacked, so the Jedi and senator defended themselves. The natives were also technically enemy combatants. The Geonosian queen of the Stalgasin hive allied with the Separatists. The Geonosians, loyal to their queen, became loyal to the Separatist Alliance.

@@walnzell9328 Anakin and Padme break into a factory and literally kill UNARMED Geonosian workers who understandably try to apprehend them. Citizens of the Confederacy of Independent Systems are not “enemy combatants” no war had been declared or begun until the Republic invasion smh. Take your Jedi dog propaganda out of here.

I rewatched this battle and I've never notcied this before but in some of the shots before R2 gets to C3PO, you can actually see R2 rolling in the middle of the choas, I thought it was so cool. I really like this battle because it feels like everytime I come back to watch it, there's always something happening that I've never noticed before, it's great.

One more thing, you can see the shadow of Jango's head fall from the helmet before it hits the ground.

Also before he is decapitated you see his jetpack flare up (Jango attempted to escape) but since it was broken earlier it didn't work. Sad times man.

I still cant unsee in the fight of the first avengers. When captain america is fighting loki in germany he punches loki in the ribs but his hand is a good 6 inches away from lokis body lol

I always believed that the Jedi that duel-wielded 2 lightsabers during the battle picked up a lightsaber of one of the Jedi who died to aid them in their fight. Also I found it a bit unrealistic that there was like no bodies of the Jedi on the floor in later scenes. Like there was over 150 of them that died in the arena and you saw like no bodies.

Love this video! I super analyzed this scene as a kid too watching all the background Jedi! You should have pointed out that Ki-Adi-Mundi’s lightsaber changed color from blue to green when they were getting onto the gunship.

Detail that freaked me out was when you saw a shadow of Jango’s head falling out of his helmet 😰 Also that background Jedi Dual wielding was incredible, and I believe the form itself is called Jar Kai. Anakin uses that form a lot in Clone wars, but usually it just hinders his performance rather than benefits him like it does for Ahsoka Tano in the later seasons.

Did you notice during the scene right before the survivors board the gunship, that Ki-Adi Mundi's lightsaber is green, but at the beginning of the battle (when the Jedi are igniting their lightsabers), *and* once he's actually on the gunship, it's blue...

I've never heard anyone talk about the minute details in this sequence in a positive light until now. Usually, people will highlight the continuity errors or the random Jedi just dancing around without droids to kill like you occasionally did. While I don't love this scene, I think it's refreshing to see a different perspective every now and then.

5:50 that looks like the basic men (head) strike in kendo. In practice, we sometimes repeat that strike over and over going from one end of the dojo and back. I could be wrong though as his feet are too high up and he's almost skipping... It looks like he actually hit a droid later though.
