Hallmark was advertising a movie this year about a woman getting stuck in a Groundhog Day-style time loop and the commercial showed her reacting to a woman saying "Happy Hanukkah" every day and I was really sad to learn the plot twist wasn't that there was no time loop and the woman just didn't realize Hanukkah is multiple days.
this is an incredibly small detail but i will always be so thankful that you have fully transcribed captions set for all of your videos instead of the auto-captions; i sometimes have auditory processing issues and it helps so much more than you can imagine!
Can't fckn believe RU-vid got rid of the fan-subtitle feature (unless they went back on that?). I can only assume it meant that way fewer videos now end up getting subs.
@@jossecoupe446 the fan made subtitles were lowkey a huge problem because there was a lot they couldnt transcribe properly bc of accents or just not getting references etc, as well as wayyyy too many "author notes" added in, so getting rid of the feature WOULD have been fantastic if they created jobs out of captioning
@@caitlinhebron1599 they could just add a rating system or something and remove them if theyre downvoted enough. sponsorblock already has this but for chapters
I liked the fact that Drew pointed out that one of the guy's nicknames was "Roastbeef" and not the fact that Leonardo Da Vinci was apparently the artist for DogGone Christmas.
@kaitlynwickham6237 I agree, although I do think it’s interesting that Madame Selena Dawn and Melvin Milgrim both sound fictional names from like a book but Finnel Roberts sounds more like a fake name someone made up to hide their own identity.
3:18 "Drive out here on your face?" He implies that the man's face is all messed up because, instead of using a car, he came to the house while running his face against the road. Hope this helps
at 13:35 when he says “remember to smash that like button” the like button lights up on mobile. i didn’t know that and it freaked me out a little LMAO💀
throughout the movie the kid was going to physical therapy. there is also a pumpkin carving contest (i only know this from mbmbam's that's a xmas to me)
I don't think Cool Cat is all that funny of a bad movie, but the conversation that she and a clearly drunk Eric Estrada have in that movie fucking kills me. Especially his extremely slurred "Dere he is!" followed by her shocked facial expression.
Imagine going to see Santa at the mall, and not only does he restore a child's ability to walk, but then the kids mom just starts making out with him 💀
The whole "You shouldn't have bought a dog without telling us!" thing reminds me of my favorite terrible Christmas movie trope; an adult makes a perfectly reasonable and constructive complaint and the movie treats them as wrong because it's Christmas it's joy time no whining!!!
Oh my god, the same thing kept happening to me. I'm glad it wasn't only me! I was like "Jesus christ do I have the worst memory or something??" EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. because I literally just kept forgetting the whole purpose of the video is that it's the end of the movies. 🤦🏻♀
Amanda is canonically Drew Gooden’s boyfriend now. Good to know. I am kind of sad we missed the divorce arc, but am relieved they seem to be back together and are trying to make it work.
nah it wasn't a divorce arc, amanda died at war, remember? you missed the arc where drew and danny found the dragon balls to bring her back to life. and now they're all poly boyfriends!
FYI: A Doggone Adventure was actually directed by Tony Randel, most famous for Hellraiser II, Amityville: It's About Time, and of course, the incomparable classic Ticks. Interesting to see he's still directing heavily special effects-laden films, even if the budgets are about five dollars. 🤣But that at least explains why it feels a little more well put together and cohesive than the previous movie. Also, the screenplay was by Jim Wynorski, which someone else mentioned - two cult horror filmmakers banding together to make a bizarre talking dog movie. This truly is the best timeline.
5:54 that movie is definitely just a twist on a christmas carol and I don't know how I got that from watching approximately 1% as much of the movie as drew did
wow! christmas is 359 days away and drew already uploaded his christmas video. what a timely and excellent youtuber. i just wish he wouldn't talk so much so we could watch the movies
_Technicallyyyy_ the Christmas season doesn't end until Three King's Day on January 6th. So he's right on time! Also, a long Christmas season prevents the post holiday blues 🥰
Conspiracy theory: Seeing as how in these Christmas dog movies, the dog is always the best actor, I'm starting to think that the movies are actually made and directed by dogs. There's no other way to explain the terrible human acting
i wonder if the fact the human actors actually know they're acting is bringing them down. the dogs are immersed because.. they don't know better. though to be honest, a secret society of dog hollywood is a better idea.
Hello! I haven't watched you for a while but I vividly remember binge watching your videos during lockdown (and even before that, actually). In the past year, I was diagnosed with epilepsy and meningitis, which affected my brain (e.g. memory loss, non-comprehension, etc.), and now that it has been 1 year since then, I am slowly adjusting and adapting to my new environment. Then when I saw your video pop up in my recommendation, a burst of nostalgia suddenly hit me. So much so that I can't help but to be emotional. Thank you so much for this video, guy. Happy New Year!!!
I actually watched a doggone Christmas with my dad a while back. The dog is psychic and a highly trained weapon for some government group. They barely address the psychic part throughout the whole movie it's great
It's so low effort it makes me feel like shit. He thinks we'll watch anything.. I literally cannot get through this video & now I have to click away before my brain rots from this mush
Btw I have been a fan for YEARS.. Only recently has this been happening. It's really sad for me, I wanted to grow alongside his channel but it just seems as though I've outgrown this style of content altogether at the ripe age of 23
As a disabled person, I hate the "fixing the disability" trope in movies. It makes it seem like disabled people can't live regular lives, which we can. Disabled people can even be successful! It's just such a harmful trope that continues the stereotype that disabled people: 1. Hate their disability and want it fixed 2. That disabilities are "the end of the world" It's just sad. Edit: I understand that some want to be cured from some of their own disabilities, for example chronic pain. What I'm referring to in this comment are a non-disabled person's "fantasy" about fixing someone else's disability, rather than a disabled person's wish to be rid of it.
And like, this kids 10. He wouldn't ask for the ability to walk, he'd ask for jetboots or something cool he could use instead of not being in a wheelchair
I'm disabled, and I generally agree. But I do hate being disabled and I'd rather be healthy if I had the choice. My life is not regular. It's also not the same with all disabilities. If my autism could be cured with no side effects, I'd have to give it some thought, but if you told me the same thing about my dysautonomia, it would be a no-brainer. If I were in a wheelchair and somebody could fix that with magic, sign me the fuck up.
It's like they can't even fathom the idea that disabled people can actually be happy, or just want better accessibility. Nope, this character WILL be cured and they WILL like it.
finding out that hallmark movies pays well, have healthy work environment and keep the actors have steady jobs for atleast few movies, i cant really make fun of it as much as before
genuinely a dream job of mine is hallmark acting. like steady income, good environment, and a few good minutes in the spotlight with an acting career, yet without the stress and havoc of an actual big acting career and fame yk ?? what’s not to enjoy !
Like two years ago on Christmas Eve my sisters and I found this AMAZING low budget Christmas movie, we watched it again this year and it just got better. Its called Santa Girl and has Harper from wizards of waverly place in it! We originally found it on Netflix but it’s only on RU-vid right now for feee with ads. 10/10 would recommend watching it Drew
@@roseyoung44 His hair was the same color as mine is now and I’ve been called blond my whole life, that’s just the color natural dirty blond goes when you don’t spend a lot of time in direct sunlight lol
@@benjisaacyou have to be gaslighting us because in no way was drew blonde in his old videos Edit: you've been lied to about being blond. You aren't and have never been
I think it'd be really cool if he actually reviewed Christmas folklore like that. I especially like The Christmas Pickle, one of its origin stories being that two Spanish boys got kidnapped by an innkeeper, put in a pickle barrel, and _just so happened_ to be found by St Nicolas who _just so happened_ to stop in at the same inn. The tradition is that the first person to find the pickle ornament on Christmas morning gets to open the first present of the day.
OH MY GOODNESS, MY AUNT AND I (BY PROXIMITY) WATCHED THE FIRST MOVIE DURING CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR! Okay the plot is completely wild! The main character is a journalist looking for a story to write about. She decides to write about a valuable nutcracker that was stolen. Her and the love interest whos a treasure hunter find a "valuable" nut cracker and try and piece together the story behind it. Shenanigans ensues and in the end, the mli (main love interest) and the girl find themselves in theatre and are chased by the antagonist with a knife until the police arrive. Also it turns out the nutcracker is worth 25 million dollars. In the end, they give the nutcracker to a lesbian couple for their honeymoon to be put in the museum and the mli and the girl kiss. So just your average hallmark movie
That's very funny, considering the nutcracker in the clip is about as crappy and mass produced as it gets. I literally see 100s of that exact nutcracker on shelves every year. I like to think at least one very young child watched this movie, looked at their own nutcracker, and thought for a moment that they might be a millionaire.
That sort of thing in movies is so funny to me, because it implies that the person could easily cure debilitating illness/injury but just... doesn't most of the time
Alright, I didn't see anyone talking about 6:43 but I laughed so hard my cat came in to check on me. So is my sense of humor broken for literally snorting at "Hey Amanda, you're my boyfriend now!"
I just had surgery on my face yesterday and when the men in the hospital scene turned out to be ghosts and faded away I laughed so hard I thought I was going to tear my face open and become a ghost myself.
I missed the word "scene" in your comment an was under the impression that you were being visited by ghostly apparitions eerily similar to those in the movie and that's what you found funny. Get well soon btw!
The woman from kill bill is in so many horrible low budget movie and I feel so bad for her because she clearly can act, but movies like this have such bad direction and scripts.
@@capablancI remember watching that in a club at college where we only watched bad movies and I was so surprised to see her in Cool Cat. I immediately wanted to ask her why on earth did you do this movie because it seemed so beneath her. Perhaps she is a true thespian, A real woman of the craft. She’s always gone the independent route, it’s just that she bagged a few good roles in films with good actors to carry it.
12:56 I feel like that’s not the STRANGEST name in the credits there, Drew It must of been a pretty good movie if he returned from his hiatus of being dead to provide some original art
this video inspired me to look into apparently the plethora of christmas movies both produced by and/or starring vivica a. fox and i stumbled upon two, "a husband for christmas" and "a christmas cruise" that both star vivica a. fox as the lead. and the pictures featured on google for both movies have the same stock photo of vivica next to her male counterpart. the exact same photo.
I love how even after growing up drew never really left his teenage habit of watching endings of random movies with his friend, but this time it's with us. And I'm glad that we're lucky to be a part of it
i was BAFFLED at why i didn't remember watching this video because i watch every single one of drew's videos as they come out. then i realized this was posted 3 days after my tonsillectomy. and apparently the percocet did NOT retain my memory
by only watching the end of hats off to christmas, you've missed the best part (the story is centered on a hat shop called "hats off to christmas" which sells only christmas hats all year round and is shockingly in financial trouble!)
The Christmas Coupon scene reminds me of this one TV show my mother watches sometimes. Don't ask me what it is, I honestly don't know. The whole show is voiced over in post. I don't know why. The actors seem to be speaking the same language, it's not like it's translated and voiced over, they just film and record audio separately for some reason, and they never, ever match exactly. It's so uncomfortable to watch, it makes me itchy.
my mom loves watching bad christmas movies, particularly hallmark movies, but also the occasional lifetime movie, and "2nd chance at christmas" is basically like a christmas carol but if scrooge was kelly clarkson
i like the fact that so many bad, low budget movies always have a scene where there is just an unrecognisable line. Like the 2050 movie and the tony hawk movie. And now drew discovered his own little one 🥺🦶
FYI A Doggone Christmas was probably not originally made for the Family Central RU-vid channel - it was directed by Jim Wynorski, who has over 107 directors credits to his name, most notably “Chopping Mall”. He’s known for producing movies incredibly fast, there is a documentary on him called Popatopolis that follows him directing an entire feature film starring Stormy Daniels in three days.
when i first started this video i was half asleep and instead of “are you defacing the beam” i heard “are you defacing the bean” and damn that would’ve been even funnier
the kid in the wheelchair JUMPSCARED me because i'm almost 100% sure that's one of the scientists from odd squad and he was one of my favorite characters in that show
