Welcome to my historical wardrobe tour! This has, by far, been my most requested video. Because I wear historical fashion or historically-inspired clothes daily, I’ve amassed a wardrobe full of ensembles. From 18th-century riding habits and redingotes to 1860s-style Civil War era gowns and plenty of historybounding, I’ve found practical ways to incorporate historical dress into my own wardrobe, as it is the style of fashion that makes me feel most confident and brings me the most joy. And everyone deserves to wear clothing that makes them happy.
Take this opportunity to peer into my wardrobe, and enjoy some vernal, blossoming nature along the way. While the weather is good, I intend to continue filming outside and adding cinematic touches.

Edit: Hi all! I’ve noticed recently this video has been gaining some traction. Please keep in mind that this is one of the earlier videos on my channel, and is nearly 2 years old now, so my wardrobe has changed a lot! When I filmed this I had basically just started sewing. Now I’ve been sewing for over 2 years. I’m planning to film an updated wardrobe tour in spring or summer so that way you can all see how things have evolved. Thank you so much everyone for watching! I wear historical clothes [1900- 1930 mens]. Here is my tip - to begin with wear them after dark. Once you have worn an outfit a couple of times at night you will feel much more comfortable wearing it in the day - I promise. Adn it IS true what people say - that 99% of all the comments are very positive. It genuinely makes other peoples day to see you!

I believe your the only historical costumer Im subscribed to that actually shows their wardrobe. Its super nice and its ideal since from what I read, most people had maybe two or (if lucky) three outfits and cool to see what you wear. Im still just working on my very first outfit but this gives inspiration for other outfits 😄

Thanks for sharing your wardrobe! I've been wearing 12-14th century inspired clothing for many years now, every day. I'm not into fashion, but prefer comfort and function and these early styles are, well, me! Last winter I wore a cotton flannel chemise under wool dresses, even when it was well below zero and was never cold. Our ancestors knew what they were doing! Keep up the good work!!

Totally agree. I often get asked if I’m cold in my skirts. Nope, I’d venture to say I’m far warmer. I’m happy for modern advancements, but we really shouldn’t discount our ancestors. Sometimes they really knew better. 🥂

How do you deal with going inside places? I like to wear 1930’s and 1940’s styles a lot and when I wear one to church I practically burn up in winter and freeze in summer. When you dress for the weather and then go in a climates controlled building its hard!

@@Diniecita Yeah it can be tricky! I say wear layers. So have a blouse, and then perhaps a waistcoat and a jacket too. With 30s and 40s they wore a lot of knits, so having one handy helps. Also choosing the right materials that’ll be temperature controlled. I find having your base layer be made of linen extremely helpful and then having natural fibres on top as they breathe much better.

@@Diniecita That’s a challenge our ancestors didn’t face to the same extent that we do (because the temperature difference between inside and outside tended to be smaller), so we’ll have to find our own solutions to it. Layering seems like the easiest one to me.

I have no idea how I ended up here, but here we are. I was watching videos about motorcycle racing, guns and listening to some classic rock and hip hop. Next thing I know you popped up on my recommended videos and, well, you looked cute as hell in your vintage dress so I decided to see what you were doing. I watched a few of your videos since last night; finding time to sew, benefits of wearing historical clothing, sticker phobias, and now this one. Again, I have no idea why I am hooked all of a sudden on historical fashions (though I do love history) but I really enjoy listening to you talk about something you are so passionate about. Gotta love that. As far as your wardrobe is concerned - now that I have watched a few of your videos I am now somewhat of an expert on vintage styles so here's my two cents. 4:53 is very cute and I love how it fits you. It looks comfortable and very springy - the season, not the bouncy thing. 8:12 is very stylish and the white collar really looks nice in contrast to the rest of the outfit. However, my favorite is 7:46. I think it's because it immediately reminded me of Olive Oatman. If you go to her Wikipedia site, you will see a photograph of her in a dress very similar to what you are wearing. If you've never heard of her, she has an incredible story of survival under some very difficult circumstances. Her face was tattooed by her kidnappers and in the photo of her wearing that similar dress, you can clearly see the marks they left on her. I think that's one of the reasons her story stands out for me - the contrast of a beautiful woman in her sophisticated and fashionable dress, still marked by a time in her life that was brutally cruel. I remembered her photo not because of the dress she was wearing, but because her strength made it and her life worth remembering. Your enthusiasm, grace, class and sense of style apparently keeps me coming back for more. In other words, I'm not here for the vintage fashions. I'm here because you bring fashion to life.

Woow! I'm so glad i found this channel while i am getting more interessted in historical fashion and sewing (in general). Your style is absolutly stunning, elegant and versatile. I dont know if i ever would wear something like this (actually the red-riding hood capelet is something i would wear) but rn i can enjoy it on other people like you (and Karolina Zebrowska, Bernadette Banner,...). I totally understand the way things can feel cringey when one does them, if this was me and it was my video I probably would have said the same thing. I totally get that historical fashion has its benefits over modern stuff. For example no plastic and oilbased fabrics only natural fabrics. Easier to repair and if the shape of the own body doesn't matches with the clothes it is easier to alter them to the own needs. But I'm not at all into fashion for me clothes serve different purpuses, they keep me warm, they have bags to carry small things, they protect me from cuts and scratches if I work or go through thorns in the woods and they prevent that anyone is offended because I'm naked. Purpuses that they don't have to fullfil in my eyes is to look good. A hat for example has its purpuse it shields my head and eyes from the sun. On rainy days they keep my hair try. If I'm in an enviroment where the risk is given that anything falls into my hair or neck a hat will prevent that, but all this doesn't need a feather attached to the hat. Same with any kind of jacket it needs as much buttons as it needs to keep it closed and maybe on each sleeve one to keep the sleeve thight but no extra row of buttons just for the looks. But these are all critics that also are for modern fashion there is too much that has form over function but I would prefer function and nothing extra.

I enjoy the Art Deco 1925-1930 era with the flapper dresses and fine silk dresses such as Jean Harlow wore in her early talkies. You can still find some beautiful pieces of Art Deco jewelry as it is more plentiful than the Victorian era.

Yes Art Deco jewellery is beautiful, it's not an era I enjoy the fashion of though unfortunately, as I just feel far more comfortable in Victorian and Georgian clothes 😊 It's still a beautiful era nonetheless. I have a bit of art deco jewellery actually, in particular earrings, as some of the styles can be used alongside Victorian ensembles as well as they can have very traditional cuts at times.

I have to say that riding habits always look the most elegant but your 'history bounding' (not heard the phrase before yourself) is fantastic and I've always mixed and matched different historical elements in my own personal style, when not having to present a certain business persona for work.

I am currently making a chemise and a regency corset which I need to do a 2nd toile for to adjust fit and I have also, just commissioned a stays pattern to be drafted using the arc method fitting my measurements so hopefully I can have them completed in a few months and begin making my 18th century clothing. I've started wearing Norse/Viking era clothing. Everyday. I bought a real Swedish reproduction 100% Baltic linen made tunic and belt from real oxhide and black chinos and just black boots as I'm saving up for historically accurate boots reproduced after finding burials in Europe with shoes and boots as a base.

I wore essentially a Victorian Corset for 7 years - 23/7/365. I LOVED it! Your comment about helping with workload was spot on, not to mention forcing good form for lifting (dead-lift style). There is a late Victorian/early Edwardian look that I adore, and I’ve toying with doing a complete 180 on my wardrobe to get back to wearing my corset. You have inspired me in so many ways! My wardrobe has definitely grown and shifted in some ways, so perhaps I'll need to make an updated video in a couple of years as more garments are added in that I've made. I wear historical fashion too. I´m in highschool, larp and reenactment sewing is my life and all I wear is tunics, doublets, rennesaince inspired shirts and waistcoats, puffy pants, tight hosen... I made my own way through school, and nowadays, most people even respect me wearing a hat indoors (hats are a part of the clothing I love the most).

One of my favorite things about this channel is she is advocating inherently for more conservative modest clothing for women. I hope this channel blows up. As a guy I hope to begin to wear if not historical more upscale clothing soon, suit and tie. Formality and modesty never goes out of style

I’m actually deeply against forcing conservative and modest clothing onto others. I believe in choice. I support my friends who choose not to dress modestly and vice versa. What I’m actually inherently advocating for, if you truly listen to what I’m saying or what I constantly talk about, is the freedom to choose and for people to be able to express themselves creatively. I’m deeply progressive in my beliefs.

@@VBirchwood hm. Maybe advocating was the wrong word ma'am. I didn't mean to imply anything about your political beliefs. To give context, in the country where I live, imo American/Western culture praises promiscuity, especially on TV and ads, very sexual imagery all the time, it's bombarding! So on the other hand I think it's a great thing for young women to have a role model on this platform (you) who is saying and modeling that you can look beautiful without showing lots of skin! I think that's a really positive thing what you're up to :) at least showing the other point of view

I am a student of history but I have no interest in fashion or sewing. I watch this channel every once in a while for one reason-You are the very definition of classy! Keep it up. You look great and should be an inspiration to others especially young girls who need to be shown an alternative to the low class, streetwalker fashion with everything exposed that is now the general rule. Well I gotta mention that I think Disney in general is a topic to be critical of esp in terms of the depocted clothing but some aesthetics just stick and are part of pop culture Even more interesting if you dive deep into the term history bounding I love nods and odes to styles that people love and I've always liked the idea of someone falling i love with someone else despite the society's marginalisation so maybe that's why the association popped up Anyways, what I want to say is I love your outfits and attitude and it is really inspiring So thanks very much And keep going, you're doing great 👍
