No shit man, alot of these i expected to blow but dam not blowing up with a bullet stuck in the barrel is damn good..any other gun im sure would have blown with that obstruction alone..only gun id probably shoot someone elses reloads in 😂
@@anthonyspring3270 I'm with u on that. I expected the last 3 at least to fail catastrophically. Imagine being stupid enough to thread a freaking bolt into your barrel and fire the gun, AND get away with your hand. That's a tank of a gun. And if this is what you buy to protect yourself and your family then I salute you and Hipoint
lama lamacka yeah tbh starting to think hi point might be the next big thing. A yet cannon might be my next buy. (*yeet but my mistake has lead me to name my yeet cannon " yeti yeet" so it's okay)
Yes he talks so bad about them, I've got a 9mm high point that is very accurate it's just heavy but hasn't got any kick to it. Now what I'd like to see him do is take a Glock or some other high quality pistol and do the same test to them and see what they will hold up to
While I was in active duty army, I was in charge of the armsroom for my unit. And in all regulations if a soldier living in the barracks owns a firearm of any kind it must be stowed in the unit arms room. Well we had a soldier with a highpoint in the armed room and let me tell you, it was embarrassing to even claim it was there in the first place. I would often say that it was the least deadly thing in the arms room, right after the M16 sling.
Right. Everyone wants to bash the little guys, but in the end, the little guys out perform most of the top ones. I actually have a Hi-point and it has taken a tremendous amount of abuse, but it still functions perfectly.
Hold up, so when Matt shot the battery Hi-point both the battery and bullet shot out of the barrel, which means two projectiles came out of the gun with one pull of the trigger... Matt has done the impossible, turning a hi-point into an unregistered machine gun 😂
i think the law means to allow more than one CARTRIDGE to be fired in succession with one trigger pull. otherwise single barrel shotguns are machineguns
True but if I was trying to stop someone else from firing a hi-point I doubt they would let me have it long enough to weld it shut or thread it and screw a bolt in it.
Your last two videos on barrel obstructions in Hi-Point .45's has led me to desire to purchase a Hi-Point .45. They are just really reliable guns and will always fire even with a "natural" barrel obstruction. The weld and both were not natural. (I also already own a Hi-Point 9mm carbine. Never had one issue with it. Always loaded and fired, except for one bad magazine)
High point 9mm carbine is actually a good firearm. I owned one and eventually sold it to a friend because he really wanted it. It shot well and rarely jammed. It was only a couple hundred dollars at the time.
Honestly I had a hipoint c9 when he first did this series after watching the first episode I bought a hipoint 45 and 40 because I couldn't decide and they are cheap enough I still came out below the competition to even get one of those calibers
Does anyone remember this video existing? Like they just got it suggested and thought “oh matt is doing a follow up on the high point vid” and then check to see it’s a year old?
Based on that clip it looks like the gas escapes through the magazine with the slide locking back however it does so; which means instead of detonating it just tears through the mechanics in the handle out the bottom. Better failure mode than the alternatives.
@@iLinr Without a warrant, Liberty Safe gave master combos to law enforcement so they could open a customers safe. Kind of hard to recover from that. They are owned by some huge conglomerate anyway now. They are not a mom and pop safe shop.
Jeez! High Points may well be Matt's least favourite guns, but they seem to be practically indestructible! Would be interested in seeing how more expensive/better quality guns stand up to the same barrel obstructions
In the famous words of some non-existent wizard, "fuck off, mate, I love my Hi-Point!" Thank you for letting me know how sturdy my first edc gun was! If HP could correct their magazine issues and weight and thickness it would be a solid platform for many other uses than funny RU-vid videos.
So, basically, Matt "King of the Demolita", can only destroy 1/10 hi-points. I cant think of a single other gun that could survive this kind of torment with that high of a ratio. Looks like its time to get a hi-point! :P
I’m 3 years late but I bet if you roughed up the surface of the barrel on the inside the job weld maybe would have been more effective? Maybe concrete also. Still cool to see tho
"I would never ever shoot a .50cal through HiPoints that would be irresponsible ..." Next video "How many HiPoints does it take to stop a .50cal?" ... 👀😏
I’ve watched this I don’t know how many times. Can we just say how impressive it is that the barrel never really exploded. Like ya on some the handle broke but not bad
For people who don't know, the reason this gun survives all of these tests is because it is a bad gun. They're all hi-point c9's (I'm assuming) which are very heavy, cheap, straight blowback 9mm. That means you don't have to clear the barrel. All you have to do is move the slide back. No locked breech. Virtually every other 9mm autoloader is short recoil. In that kind of gun, no movement of the blockage = no recoil = no unlocked breech = the chamber explodes.
At this point I feel like there’s dirty water between Matt and high point because even I’m genuinely impressed. All of those guns except for the last two could have kept you in the gunfight.
It's going to be hilarious when Matt is recognized at SHOT Show 2020 for being the #1 HiPoint buyer in the U.S. before being added to the board of directors 😂 We may all hate HiPoint but you have to admit that they're pretty damned durable, I've seen so many torture tests and the HiPoint makes it through almost all of them, as bad as I hate to say it I bought one myself to torture test and the only thing that it couldn't handle were rubber 9mm rounds and they just locked the slide up.
Exactly why I bought one. Never a jam. Trigger sucks ass but accurate as hell. Manage to hit qtr size target at 10 yards. He's literally shown it'll go bang every time. Unless you weld it shut or thread the interior of the barrel and tighten a bolt in it with a wrench.
Weld and thread the barrel of a 1911. Personally I also don't like Hi-Points, but if you weld and thread barrels of any handgun it's likely gonna have similar results. The only difference your probably gonna see is if one manufacture uses weaker materials in manufacturing it's gonna fail at it's weakest point. Hi-point, Glock, Ruger, any of em. Every one will fail relatively similar shooting the same caliber with the exact same fault.
Giggles McAlister i have often considered picking up one in every caliber, just so i have something that will shoot calibers i don’t otherwise “stock” at home. Perfect trunk or tackle box guns.
This video made me consider buying a hi point so that it's a conversation piece in my firearm classes. Me: This is a hi point. It's junk. Don't bet your life on it. Students: Can we shoot it? 😂😂😂
Military may want to reconsider their sidearms, 😄😀😆🤣... I want to see all this with Berretas, Glocks, Sigs, Hks... Pull some money out the bank and let's go... But work your way backwards to save money
I want to see what happens if that barrel thread is taken all the way to the chamber. Will the bullet lose so much of its energy that it just falls out of the other end? Will it still have enough to propel it away and will it be super accurate at that point? What if you could build a chamber and barrel out of the strongest materials possible and then use as much gun powder as possible with a barrel thread with the same pitch as a bolt? Would it be insanely accurate with just as much force?

When they raped the boars in the wind and sang a song to a broken child with a crippled soul. Then the boxer burst in and with all his might hit the broken child and the child flew away. The moral is this. If you are broken, then break someone stronger than you are broken. Do not stop and continue to break and ruin the life of others. Cripple the souls of young children to their own joy. Make fun of the grief of others and sing the ditties on the graves of the departed. At the end of the journey before going to bed, smile and hit the old concierge in the face with a heavy object. Leaving slam the door harder. Get drunk. @@ad1ldo guy: I love hi points man their so great and reliable. Gun snob: huh? They are the worst guns ever. Guy: prove me wrong then *links both Matt's videos*
The only thing that could make this any worse for matt if Hi-Point corporate call him up and tell him that they will replace the "Two" broken ones for free and gives him a box full of their gun swag as well.
@thedarkinsignia I would think its funny if they did send replace every one he broke and sent him a letter thanking him for Being their best demonstrator of how tough their guns are
@@christianhaykus452 I'm waiting for one of these guys who torture test the hi points to try this with a glock, berreta, or dessert eagle. I'm positive no gun would survive the a welded barrel or bolt threaded they like that.
Ok, I'm going to run out and buy one of these things. You made an extremely good Hi Point commercial. I'm sure that Hi Point really appreciates your showing what a tough gun that they make!
Lol I had more rounds through my hipoint than all of my guns combined and I used to shoot skeet a couple times a week and go through a couple boxes of clays each session. Never had a single issue with it, also never cleaned it. Sold it to a buddy for $50 im sure if he still has it it is still going.
It's funny how hi-points are more reliable than high end expensive guns like SIG and Kahr. Hell try obstructing the barrell in any generation Glock and the thing breaks and flys apart. Yet a hi-point will manage to fire and cycle the next round. They might be ugly but I don't know of very many other pistols that can perform just fine thru an inrange style mud test let alone being full of concrete and jb weld.
Yeah its simply because of the crude casting, makes them extra thick. Ill admit they are tough and have surprised me. But id still take my glock, or S&W over a highpoint.
@@danimal865 - aye i edc a cz 75b and dont even own a hipoint tho maybe i should get some if nothing else as a cheap way to arm extended family and friends in the event it became necessary.
What I've learned from Matt's Hipoint videos is, A: Matt hates Hipoints B: Hipoints are clunky, ugly, cheap, virtually indestructible and reliable. C: nothing else.
Bro so true, they be like: this man actually wanted to break these and look at this!!! Next day: "ok wait one minute they haven't gotten the shipment in yet so you'll have to wait."
