The players are the biggest problem in mw2. People just don’t want to play. You’ve always been able to corner camp and camp in general it’s just now everybody does it. The game is very playable.
Vanguard zombies is actually insulting and an utter embarrassment. I know Treyarch was crunched for time when they made the mode, but there were so many little things that just made the mode worse, other than the terrible design choices. For example, having no PaP camo or not even having a wonder weapon at launch. The freaking Monkey Bombs don't even talk in Vanguard. It's little things like that, that make the mode such a joke.
I actually haven’t played Vanguard in over a year I think. I certainly didn’t love the setting but I don’t remember really disliking the game as opposed to mw2, playing it feels like being in a puddle of mud - not saying I want crazy movement but I’d like SHG to improve on that for sure. Also bringing back the combat pacing would be great imo
I swear every single dev that works with Activision (Blizzard in particular) gains this weird habit of telling their community what feels good to play and how to have fun, while simultaneously changing fundamental parts of gameplay that made their game(s) fun in the first place
I won't lie, Vanguard felt super arcadey and the blitz combat pacing, I would marry blitz combat pacing if it was a person. Compared to pre-Caldera COD, sure maybe not as good, but god the pacing feels great looking at it compared to post-Caldera.
This game was heavily underrated. Besides all the broken shit the multiplayer gameplay was the best cod in modern years. And the assault pacing was underrated as well, it was a perfect middle ground
@@mkz2386 Cold War is close imo but the slow movement and the insane sbmm makes the game not as fun. And I think the base maps on vanguard are better especially because of pacing
I liked Vanguard. It felt like an arcade call of duty with modern mechanics. If only they supported it more and it wasn't just a warzone weapon grinder
@PC controller montage I never had packet loss issues and sbmm isn't nearly as bad as literally all cods released since then, honestly don't get vanguards hate compared to the absolute frogshit that modern warfare is. 3000devs 3 month wait for launch content, so much broken features, 0.5kd catering...
I actually really liked Vanguard and was a little sad to see it go. I think if the devs actually cared more about the game and gave it more maps, more seasonal events, etc. It would have done a lot better. It seemed like Vanguard was thrown to the wayside immediately because of Warzone, which had all the awesome events like Kong vs Godzilla. But the maps were better, movement was better, and game pacing was much better than MWII.
Idk why people like to argue with jev. He's been playing the games for years, has made video on these games for years, takes time to sit down and thoroughly understand each game and it's mechanics. Jev literally is the Cod guy
He already is the King of CoD Grinding regardless of whether he finishes his current grinds, the amount of controllers he’s probably broken and people he’s made deaf with his camo grind raging is a ridiculous amount
My only issue with mw2 is that it's slow movement makes bf2042 more faster pace, and since most of the mp maps are larger than older cod games, it feels like i need to run a mile to get into the action especially with 6v6, the only place where i like the pace is shipment but it is also shipment.
Mw2 isn’t even that slow. If you do proper weapon tuning, use the right attachments and the right perks, and use dead silence then you can absolutely play fast paced lol
I genuinely really enjoyed Vanguard as a casual player. Made it to level 100 or so. Played 1-3 days a week. It was a great game IMO for Campaign and Multiplayer, Zombies isn't even worth a mention IMO.
Yeah, aside from the constant bugs, Vanguard ran terribly for me pretty much the entire time I played it. I was constantly running into performance issues.
@@dillonc7955 it got solved in later seasons... but by the time that happened, everyone just went back to Warzone or picked up MW19/BOCW again for their MP fix.
Personally I dont play much cod but picked up Vanguard and had a great time. I really enjoy ww2 weapons so that was a big bonus for me. Cool maps too. Fluid movement. I liked it.
@@roderickclerk5904 I disagree about the post match accolades. Having to sit through those animations got old real quick. Wouldn't be so bad if you could skip them.
every time a cod comes out its amazing for the first few weeks then everyone says its terrible and they want bo2 back then a few years go by and new cods are out and people go back to play and realize its actually a pretty good game and not that bad. this cycle happens with every single cod
recently re downloaded mwII and was happy to see they added gun fight! Idk why they didnt have that because I know many people loved that mode and if the game launched with gunfight I would have put much more time in. Love the content jev!
Vanguard is such an underrated COD game it didn’t deserve the harsh criticism it received. Multiplayer was fun af especially having combat pacing made the experience awesome. Movement felt great and gun play was satisfying.
I feel like if mw2 had somewhat vanguards movement and combat system with all the cool bundles but kept mw2’s fun parts and keep out slide canceling it would definitely be better in my opinion
Hey Jev, it’s me the guy who hated on you about only talking xdefiant and begged you to play older cods. Thank you for listening to your fans. You’ve got my respect, :not to hate on anybody who likes xdefiant just really wanted to see my favorite creator talk about something I enjoyed ❤
Exactly! MW2 is extremely slow and campy. Definitely made for people who just sit in corners or behind head glitches. Vanguard allows you to play aggressively.
I legit did all my camo challenges for mw2, then realized it’s so slow paced no one in the lobby usually gets more than 20 kills. I went back to vanguard and it’s 100+ kill games.😭
I could play blitz all day long and it was the only thing that I played 😂 so honestly, I never thought Vanguard was bad and I have always been confused as to why people hated it hahaha
Honestlly I'd rather play MW2 for another year for sure. Vanguard has has so little too offer and its multiplayer may have better movement but thats all it really offers. On MW2 I can keep myself occupied with DMZ maybe a bit of warzone and some multiplayer ranked. And if they add new guns to grind I can easily keep myself busy
@@Mobnetwork and most of the 30 maps are terrible to play on MW2 doesn't have the best maps either but they have at least some that are playable. What else does Vanguard have besides Multi-player? Don't say zombies cause I'd rather watch paint dry than to play that
I loved Vanguard tbh there was actual stuff to grind for Weapons Operators skins etc and they didn't force Bundles on you like Modern Warfare II Mines actually got some kills and no gayass flash spamming over and over I was never bored of it
As someone who has played both i can say that i have enjoyed both and i would go back to vanguard if they added more guns to grind but im happy sticking with mw2
@@overthinking1406 Oh really? It has nothing to do with the awful support they had for mp (broken stuff they barely fixed like packet loss, Whitley and piercing vision and so on), the worst zombies ever made and one of the worst campaigns? Game was literally a scam made by Activision for WZ, y'all have some short memory.
This game had the most broken small bugs of all time . But I really did like the out the map glitches . Got my first V2 rocket in that submarine map hiding within a pipe 😅
I seriously don't understand the Vanguard hate. that game was SO MUCH BETTER the MW 2019, and more fun to play then MW2. The movement and combat pacing was amazing, any one that hates this game just sucked and got shit on playing it. Plain and simple
Vanguard as a MP was solid and grindable! Some of the camos was more tedious than okay. But it was nice to play! Basicly movement and all. Map pool was okay.
I enjoyed the grind, decent progression system. The maps. The match pacing needs to make a comeback. Very good for replay ability. And hey, if everything is broken technically it’s balanced in a sense. What I liked is how they made it so other players couldn’t spawn in another players FOV. Something MW2 needs to take hints
@@brandonjaigobin2227 I got ARs platinum or diamond (idk what it was called in this game) and that grind was miserable. 70 levels for each gun was way too much. Starting a new weapon and playing people with fully kitted out guns was so bad, the discrepancy in ttk was like 100ms. So many camos were needlessly tedious to unlock, like when you’d start the “using 3 specific attachments” and an attachment wasn’t even unlocked yet. I liked leveling up operators n all but it just wasn’t good.
Im sort of enjoying it too even tho i dont play it alot, but the maps arent the best, the UI is awful, SBMM, bugs n shit, and how IW is doing nothing to fix the main problems with the game. Imo its not a "horrendous" game like i see some people make it out to be but it certainly isnt good
It's clearly better than cold war and vanguard in terms of gameplay and overall quality nonetheless there are some big issues rn, people mostly want mw19 movement back imo an fps game like cod needs to focus on gunplay not movement.
Bc they removed stuff that had been in the games for decades. No redots, no audio, no dead silence perk, loud footsteps, bad maps, fast ttk etc. I didnt buy MW2 and dont know why ppl did unless ur first cod was bo3 or something
no red dots, no dead silence perk, dogshit perk system, uav spam makes pubs terrible because you dont get ghost until 10 minutes into the match, weapon bloom, game encourages holding left trigger instead of using the left stick, aim assist so strong a monkey could shoot straight, sniper glint, some of the worst maps I've ever played in a call of duty game, SBMM, no map voting, squad spawns, doors, jump ads penalty, not only is there no dead silence perk the only form of dead silence makes a loud ass noise that every sound eq using monkey can hear across the map, dripfeeding dlc to cover for their lack of post launch content, mediocre campaign, countless visual bugs and glitches, focusing on a stupid fucking ledge hang mechanic instead of actually doing something useful with the dev time... i could go on and on. Infinity Ward is simply incompetent, the Infinity Ward that made the original CoD4, MW2, and MW3 no longer work there and in their place they hired a bunch of idiots that have no idea what CoD is. They're pushing out unfinished, soulless games that are only meant to be played until the next one comes out in 12 months. Its pathetically impressive how Activision manages to consistently release worse and worse games every single year.
Best thing about MW19 is the campaign. Best thing about vanguard is combat pacing. Best thing about MW22 is the campaign. Meanwhile Cold Wars Multiplayer, Campaign & Zombies were all solid. Also I’d rather play BO4 for another year then touch vanguard or mw22.
All of sudden? Where were you all last year lmao? Vanguard was getting dogged on during its entire life cycle. Hating Vanguard isn't some new thing that just started recently.
@@patbirdmusic under the circumstances it was given because Activision is so trash nowadays I think it was pretty good. Of course now people are starting to realize it.
@@mysticz9046 yeah I agree. It shouldn't of been released given the circumstances but considering Activision wouldn't have allowed it to be postponed it was good for what it was. Zombies was really fun too
Honestly Vanguard is slightly underrated, along with Cold War. The speed of Vanguard makes it the most appealing of the games since MW2019 and the WW2 setting is always refreshing to have when most games are modern/futuristic setting. I’d take it over any newer CoD besides Cold War
In terms of least played cods mine is aw (I was like 13 and gave it away) but for mw2 vs vanguard I played mw2 more only because my friends play it, for enjoyment I'd say personally vanguard was more enjoyable for me I can't play a match of mw2 without wanting to get off the game
The thing about the campaign was each mission on its own was good but they had absolutely no overarching story it was like “here’s a super team of the best of the best but 9/10 of the missions are introducing the members
@@sussyman9034 yeah man. It's just the sweats that complain. Yeah, most of the maps on MW2 aren't good but all I see people complain about is the movement and cosmetic packs. And now for MW2 to be compared to vanguard now is stupid. Don't let the internet cloud ur judgement just because the pros complain about it.
I liked Vanguard because i really enjoyed the qeapons and the pace. Just going super fast and stuff is just so much fun. I was never a big zombies fan and i enjoyed some elements of the story, but i just liked the speed of multiplayer
Here's my take on MWII, as my first ACTUAL CoD game, it is a GOOD feeling. I know a lot of people have experienced the better CoD games of the past, and the worse ones too. But having actually put time into a CoD game for the first time with MWII I can already say I'm hooked and will most likely be buyng the next game anyways. and that's coming from someone who usually only play's looter shooters like Destiny and Borderlands
I didn't even bother to grind the Atomic camo. I have damascus and obsidian in MW, Dark Matter in CW and Orion in MWII. I can't stand playing Vanguard.
Vanguard had the potential to be up there with the top CoD titles. Take away the damn Red Dot Sights and all attachments that didn't exist in that era, and work and craft upon what they time had to offer and polish upon it. Less attachments? Here are 1000 Multiplayer missions for you to grind and earn emblems and calling cards.
I don't even wanna answer Jev's question because there is no point. It's like pointing at deer shit, and then pointing at cow shit, and asking which is better. For me there just hasn't been an enjoyable CoD since WWII, except BOCW zombies
imo Vanguard was expected to not be loved because for the longest time the CoD that they cared about was MW2019 and Warzone, it felt like the new games were just side quests to level up guns for warzone. Where as MW2022 was the big new game with Warzone 2 and the new DMZ and was supposed to be god as a game. But it just flopped. That’s why to me and I feel like a lot of other people MW2 was just more of a disappointment than any other game we’ve gotten to date. (P.S I love you Jev I been watching you since 8th grade and you’re videos get me through life )
the last COD I bought played was Cold War, I decided then that I wouldn't pay for another one until I saw from people like Jev to see if it was any good. I'm still waiting.
2 things that really piss me off about this game. 1. Percs. Completely missing and could be an absolute game changer, especially with overkill. 2. TTK, this game is made for the brainless to run around, hold their finger on the trigger hoping for (and getting) a successful kill. No skills required at all. Fix these two things and this game is relevant.
Vanguard at least had some cool features that didn't make it into MWII like Combat Pacing and the movement in that game was pretty great, especially when you use a SMG set up for movement speed like the Sten, Marco 5 or H4 Blixen with the Lightweight perk, pair it up with Slide Cancelling and you can easily break opponents ankles without much trouble thanks to the movement in this game.
Never thought I’d be part of the “target audience” get home from work, play for an hour or 2 at most on weekdays. The updates honestly don’t care one bit about, I just kinda play now. Get some ranked in on the weekends and lowkey it’s been fun.
