+The Booktube Girl If you haven't already, go check out book outlet! The books are so cheap and I've found so many books that I've been wanting on there.
+The Booktube Girl I'm not sure if you use Thriftbooks, but that's my go-to for cheap finds. I did a haul recently showing a bunch of like new hardcovers I got for $4. Best part is if you spend over $10 ( I think that's what it was), its free shipping. And I've never been disappointed with a product I've received. The shipping is prompt and well done. I love their services!
I love the fact that you don't assume people to know all the characters or book series you mention in the videos and patiently explains the plot or storyline. That's really considerate of you, Sasha!
You should definitely read Angel Burn by L. A. Weatherly. I loved that trilogy. I actually bought the first book in my country, then waited two years until I went to London to buy the second one and I do not own the last one... The worst part was that during that two years I looked everywhere for the second one.
I loved reading Maus and Maus 2! I read them in seventh grade and absolutely loved them. I was and am kinda obsessed with historical fiction... That was also the year I fell in love with The Book Thief 😍😛
Sasha has a new video!!!! Yay!! I cant believe I forgot to go to half price books on black friday...I completely forgot. At least theres cyber monday!!!
I went to Barnes and Noble on Black Friday and I got SIGNED copies of Winter by Marissa Meyer and Carry On by rainbow Rowell and I cried a little bit out of happiness! Also, so glad you love avatar bc that is hands down one of the best tv shows of all time.
You should read The Falling Kingdoms series ASAP. It's incredible. Also, I'm dying over your note in the background about not touching your bookshelf! LOL
HALF PRICE BOOK IS BAE AND I GOT THE WHOLE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS SERIES....with 5 other books. Imagine the looks I got when I when to checkout. #PROUDFATHER YAS 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love getting the band, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Supernatural merch at Hot Topic. Also, 'Across The Universe' sounds really good. I think I'm going to read the series.
STAR WARS IS DA BEST! MY DAD AND I ARE MARATHONING THE MOVIES! But don't have high expectations for the prequels. I didn't like really any of them expect the third one. Don't worry the order is very confusing! So glad to welcome you to the fandom! HOT TOPIC IS THE BEST!
Totally fangirled when I saw the avatar lol ! I didn't know they did a hard cover version! And thanks for the website! I've been trying to find a good website to get it as it is quite expensive in most stores here in uk and online too Loved that show and can't wait to pick it up!
I'm a little late to the party but props on being a Deadpool fan. I love him. I just got my LvlUp exclusive Her Universe shirt with Deadpool and tacos.
The term "Black Friday" comes from when the stores go into the "black" which is good, they get a lot of revenue. So when the stores give so many deals on Friday, they will attract shoppers and go into the black. :)
I read Across the Universe (which is literally the only book I have read that you will read or have read). Great to read on a rainy day all bundled up.
This was pretty good. Also, CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!!!! Love reading comics too. Well, the DC comics like the Justice League with him in it.>"< And please do a review on the Last Airbender book. My bae Prince Zuko is killin' it with his Nobel outfit on!;^)
FUN FACT/ SHORT HISTORY ON BLACK FRIDAY. So, normally, shops spend a lot of money buying things and then resell them to gain profit. But, somethings aren't sold/damaged/lost. Anyway, BLACK FRIDAY symbolizes the first day of the whole year -starting january first- that most stores actually start making profit for their investments they made earlier in the year. The day always revolves somewhere near the end of November, so they starting calling it BLACK FRIDAY when the stores stop "being in the red" (losing money) and start "being in the black" (making money.) And made it have extra sales. You're Welcome.
One of my friends had to read Maus I & II for her English 115 class. She said that they were pretty good, and I'm interested to see what you're going to think of them. Also, LOVE THE MERCH!!!
Awesome haul - you scored some great deals! I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Maus series. I tried to like them so much, but unfortunately did not. Happy reading over the holiday break :)
I went to Barnes & Nobles on Black Friday and bought 23 books- almost all of them signed. Uploading a haul tomorrow hopefully but oh my gosh, my bank account is crying...
I have never gone sledding... In fact, I've never really seen snow in person because you know I live in Phoenix, AZ where snow doesn't really happen. Or atleast not near where I live. I know regular paperbacks are so much nicer than mass-market and seem easier to read.
I'm not sure if someone has already told you, but we now have black friday in the UK. It's not very good here though as only some stores take part and even then they're not that cheap.
For Black Friday my parents gave me $150 to spend on books and I got a total of 13! I got the Lunar Chronicles, The Legend Series, The Throne of Glass Series, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and An Ember in the Ashes! It's so weird how fast us readers can spend money on books!
I read Maus I and II last week. They are beautiful and have very nice and meaningful artwork , but, without being spoilery, they broke my stone heart. Read those, really.
We don't REALLY have Black Friday in Australia, some stores have a few sales but not a lot. We have Boxing Day sales after Christmas, which go for a few days (don't know if it's the same in America and other countries) so basically I will spending those days at the book store! ^^ p.s. Star Wars is awesome! So many people don't like the prequels but I love them!
Lord John and the Private Matter is fabulous! I really need to re-buy all of the Diana Gabaldon books because they were either ruined in a flood while boxed (I just teared up 5 years later...yeah) or stolen by my ex-roommate (as were my Kelley Armstrong books...the entire Women of the Otherworld series. If you like fantasy adult series..even if you don't usually...READ THOSE!) Also...everything else you got was amazing. Way to go!
origin of black friday: sometimes in the final quarter of the year, companies would be losing money (sometimes called "being in the red") and so they started to do sales to encourage people to start shopping again so they would make money (sometimes called "Being in the black"). It eventually started being called black friday because of that. Or at least thats what my teacher used to say. Also, we have black friday in Canada, despite the fact that our thanksgiving is in early october, (basically just to ensure canadians spend their money in canada and to keep them from travelling to the US for deals).
I've read Lord John and the Private Matter and I would recommend reading Voyager first if you haven't already. In Voyager, Lord John is discussed and more of a character than his very minor part in Dragonfly in Amber. You would enjoy it a lot more if you read Voyager first! Enjoy it!
This is an epic haul :O I'm starting the second season of Game of Thrones this weekend with my roommate, so I seriously can't wait to read the books! Maus is also a really great series honestly. I had to read it for my History and Memory in Graphic Novels course, and I loved it
I also went to HPB and didn't get $100. It was coldest day yet and it was Black Friday. Luckily I only had to wait an hour. Also super jealous that you already have Frozen Tides.
Happens in Brazil as well, but the prizes are not as good as in the USA. There are lots of promos, but we're begging what means we still need to low our numbers, hahah. Loved your choices and all the things you bought. Xoxo. ♥
OMG I went to barnes and noble on black friday for some of the signed books and about 300 dollars later I was walking out!! I saved about 30 dollars because I'm a member. I may do a video of my black friday haul as my first booktube video, I'm not sure, but after that I saw +PolandbananasBOOKS video on binge book buying.... I know the feeling haha!!
Never saw the game of thrones cover before - looks great though :) total envy for all of your other purchases :) black Friday sounds amazing. In Germany there is only a lot of black Friday online sales but not a lot of book related stuff ! But I got Outlander on black Friday and had to do an unboxing video :D thanks to you!
Damn I wish we would have Black Friday in Poland *sigh* But since we haven't I mastered online book occasions finding from all over the world :) I will be forever thankful for the bookdepository link. My wallet not so much :P
