A little weird that the Miraculous Ladybug cafe had a school lunch vibe to its food, but it kinda makes sense since the characters still attend school. The desserts for it look so yummy, I wanna try it so bad T-T

The main feeling I get from this is that these Cafes rely on the enthusiasm of the fans and don't really try to blow you away with the food.

As a Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood fan, that café was definitely appropriately themed! All the dishes and drinks that were tied to each character matched perfectly. that Roy Mustang dish looked amazing and even the Philosopher's stone drink looked like the liquid version of a Philosopher's stone as well. Definitely appropriately themed!

So Connor has a crane game addiction while Emily has a collab cafe addiction. Got it. Can't wait to see more of your adventures!

For any tourists who wants to attend one of these collab cafes, please write down your English name in the registration even if they ask for a Japanese one. My girlfriend made a reservation with a Japanese version of her name and the staff informed us that officially, they require the registered name to be the same as your identification (passport) just to allow you to enter but they turned a blind eye in our case since we didn't know. We went to the Ouran High School Host Club collab cafe! I was soooo tempted to get that tea cup as well but due to it being a pre-order and shipping it back to our country would be exorbitant! Overall the merch and drinks were great but the food was meh. We also ordered the burger and curry rice and Emirichu is 100% right that the burger was not good hahaha!

Emily now has like 3 videos dedicated to anime cafes. I love this girl.

Not sure how Lycoris Recoil doesn’t have their own cafe yet. The show is….. set in a cafe. Including several on-screen dishes (don’t sleep on the poop shaped chocolate cake) so you don’t have to resort to curry rice with a piece of paper with a character on it.

I'm noticing a trend that these cafés can't keep up with merch demand. I'd be so disappointed if they were out when I finally managed to get to Japan. I really feel vlogs like this one are giving me as much of the experience that is worthwhile, so thank you❤

22:52 I come across this problem a lot, so I came up with an idea and it works, especially well, if there’s syrup in a drink, ask for no ice, it works you get more syrup, and your glass is full of just your drink, no ice that way, you can’t end up like 90% water in your drink try it 😏😏

Just finished watching both of these cafe videos finally. These were super interesting! As someone who never has been to Japan, seeing all the different food and drinks (regardless of how they may have tasted) was fascinating!

These have been wonderful videos to watch. The FMA, FFXIV, Genshin Impact, SpyXFamily had a lot of interesting menu items, etc. Looking forward to seeing where you go for the 3rd Colab Cafe video. Hopefully you feel better. Keep up the good work.

I would like to see a Food Wars cafe, but not just a normal colab! You book a reservation and pay a fixed sum for a 3-course meal in advance, somewhere between like 70 - 100 dollars BUT... They have an actually good chef that prepares many of the food items from the show and you get to pick your dishes from a carte when you get there. These dishes don't need branding because they are the branding. Put some decorations in and offer some merch and this could be a 10/10! I would rather pay a little more ( not that much more considering the prices we've seen here... ) and know I would get some amazing food that would normaly be hard to find or replicate!

I love watching these videos, and the one thing I have to say this time is I wish I was into Final Fantasy XIV when I went to Japan last before the pandemic because now I would LOVE to go to it. Also, I'm pretty sure the Square Enix Cafe that did FMA in your video did a Chrono Cross cafe when they re-released the game last year, and I was SO SAD that I was not able to go. The composer for the Chrono series did live music at the cafe as well, and that would have been my dream. The one thing I hate about partially following the collab cafes is seeing these once in a lifetime chances just gone because Japan wasn't open at the time.

Thanks for taking us all out on so many cafe dates! Side note, I LOVE your journal! Memory loss and dementia is common in my family, I often worry that one day I'll forget my most special memories. Seeing the way you decorate the pages and write out your day, I wonder if I can do something similar for myself, for the future me. Thanks for the inspiration, buddy ♥️💘

22:34 Well, with sour+milk or sour+bread you often have to be very careful, as acids separate out the casein from milk and sour+bread smells and tastes like someone already had eaten it and thrown it up again (because the stomach also is filled with acid).

Ib means a lot to me. It and other horror RPG maker games made up a large chunk of my early years and I remember watching every video I can of it, whether it be playthroughs or animatics. Even if Emily didn’t enjoy it too much, but if I ever got to go there, I think I’d cry from the sheer amount of nostalgia Ib gives me.

As a HUGE fruits basket fan myself I’m very sad to hear that this one was not as good, though it will probably not happen, I’m hoping that a Kamisama kiss cafe will someday be a thing because that show means so much to me! As much as I love my hero academia I’m pretty sure a themed cafe has probably happened multiple times so I won’t wish for another lol

Truly, these were some collab cafes. I really appreciate how you stated your opinion about how awful something was and then just moved on - You didn't let your experience with the entree mess with what you thought of the dessert, or let the meal color your decision about the merch.

When you’ve collected enough “data” on the cafes I think we need your expert opinion on how to pick a good one. I’d be interested in going to one in Japan for the experience, but probably wouldn’t be interested in any specific collab.
