I've had a trailer axle like that, there is a washer that goes behind the nut that has a tab that you hammer behind to angle up against the flat side of ur nut to lock it in place, ur spindle should have a moon cutout on it itself, so the washer on the inside will have a flat detent to keep the washer from turning, which keeps your nut from turning on ur spindle
