In today's video we visit another worst rated makeup artist in my city on yelp and realize the REAL reason behind the bad reviews Follow me on Instagram: @joudi_d Business Inquiries : Judydbusiness@gmail.com
Queens❤ I know the place lacked some hygiene and the techniques weren't on point but the MUA was definetely a lot better than so many other artists I've been to and this just shows how a few close minded people might ruin someone's career. Don't assume something just cause someone else thought so. Love y'all with all my heart
@@GestressteKatze There are bad reviews because of being transgender? Where? I don't think it looks good. If I had my makeup done there it would get an ok ish review because of the makeup not being that great not because of the gender of the person doing it.
It breaks my heart hearing she gets terrible reviews because *she's transgender. People are so narrow minded, it's sad. Good for you pointing that out. She deserves better. *MUA
I know a man who's gone through with the OP but had to live as a women for 5 to 10 yrs before she could get any help glad to to say shes happy and a full women x
oh so thats why it says transgender in the thumbnail! i thought the youtuber was trandgender hhh but you should get reviews based off your skills and customer service. not for your gender/sexuality.
I must say that the attention to the client was there and she really was trying very hard and had an intention to make you feel beautiful. I'm curious to see how she grew up as a makeup artist. You really should revisit her.
As a transgirl I literally cried when she said the reviews are bad because the artist is transgender, people are so mean she literally didn't do that bad of a job considering the price range, also hair and lashes 🥺🖤⛓
You no I would love to talk to a Transgender people. Because I don't understand how they can feel like being male/female and how they know what one would feel like. Is it all about feeling about what their sex is or does it go much deeper!?
@@mainman2944 As a transgender man, I could give you some insight. I personally feel uncomfortable when I am referred to as a girl and I have a lot of gender and body dysphoria because of my physical characteristics as I was born female. I prefer to present myself in a masculine way so I always felt ugly or just weird with feminine traits like longer hair, makeup, and stuff like that. It’s just a deep feeling of uncomfortableness and misplacement. I am sure that it can be different for other transgender people though. Some people just prefer to be referred to differently and with different pronouns but present themselves either more masculine or more feminine-or however they feel comfortable. That’s really the main thing- it’s not about being a girl or being a boy or being non-binary or genderfluid and all other gender identities- it’s about feeling comfortable and confident with yourself.
As a trans girl too I was on the verge of tears because I want to become a MUA when I'm older and do makeup on clients, if she got hate for that I'm gonna have a tough time too 😭 oh yh also through the first lockdown I've significantly improved with my makeup skills to the point that everyone I know calls me a professional
@@mahdireza5695 you should keep doing what you want to do. if youre passionate in it, and you know youve got talent, go for it! and of course, make sure youre safe because you dont know what crazy people are out there that would also want to exploit your business because of your gender identity. its going to be tough depending on where youre located, theres no doubting that. you just gotta be aware of that as you are now, and then worry about yourself and your skills :). if you do decide to continue that career, i wish you the best of luck. stay safe and happy!
@@Brx125 aww I appreciate it, I'm feeling more confident to move forward. Take kim petras as an example. She's a proud trans woman, she's not afraid to say it. She faces a lot of criticism as well as backlash but she moves forward and is a successful popstar today!
That was the first thing I thought. She clearly knows what she's doing and how to do it well, but she just has no material! This video is from 2 years ago, but I really hope she is doing better now and that she have plenty of customers
She did a decent job. I'm in love with how she did your eyeliner and extended it in the inner corner! For $20, with lashes and a FREE hair styling, I'd give her at least 4 stars, she doesn't deserve a bad rating!
@@UnderAlias1051 I watched the video but I don't just believe someone else's words especially in today's modern time when people just make things up. I mean did she or did you actually read the reviews and was it made clear that was the issue. Since you were replying I figured you knew the answer from that perspective and had something to say
Although she missed the foundation shade, she absolutely did a good job with the resources she had. As an LGBT person it's sad to know that sometimes, no matter how good your work could be, people will be harsh at it just because your sexuality. This makeup artist is talented doubtlessly.
You can tell the success of the service by how Judy looks at the end. She looks like she's feeling good about herself and that's a success. She's paid a LOT more than $20 for someone to make her feel worse than she went in feeling. You can always tell just by her attitude when she models the final look, though. Doing her hair added a nice polish to the look, too. Just a little "bonus" effort makes such a difference.
I’d love to see a series where you revisit artists who had potential and deserve a revisit like this artist. I hope she has gotten more business and has been able to grow in her skill because the passion and care for the client is here.
The foundation was a little dark, but the makeup artist did a great job. I agree with Judy, it shouldn’t matter if you are transgender or not, giving fake reviews over gender is crap.
It’s absolutely disgusting people are leaving bad reviews because she’s trans. Thank you for pointing that out and saying something. Your eye liner was beautiful. I’ve watched a lot of your videos and this one is definitely one of the best. And the doing your hair was so kind!
The MUA did a good job with the exception of the foundation color. I am so happy to hear you being supportive of the artist and trans community with your comments.
I think she did a wonderful job! I hope she continues to grow in her craft, she has lots of potential and passion! It breaks my heart to see the rampant transphobia affecting her business. You should absolutely revisit her and see how she is doing now!
Apart from missing the foundation shade, she actually did a good job! I wish her career blooms, because she definitely needs only a little bit to perfect herself!
@@oh-6613 Yeah, there are a few things she definitely needs to fix, like hygiene and having a wide range of shades for each skin type and skintone. Then there will be a bigger flow of customers because I think the lack of hygiene might be pushing them away, except the homophobia ofc.
@@oh-6613 I feel like it has to do with just overall hygiene but she has a lot of potential as far as technique. Im assuming with no customers it's hard to buy more product
She was so gentle with your face and she was so patient in putting the liner, i hope she blows up big one day, she did her best, i love her so much 😭😭❤
This MUA seemed really nice! I like that she took the time to ask you what colours you wanted and the fact that she did your hair for free was amazing! Such a shame that people have given her bad reviews...everybody deserves a fair chance.
Honestly, even with her going against your wishes with the eyebrows, she did a decent job on them. I have had two different people give me literal pencil line thin eyebrows and it was tragic
The eyeliner is on point and she didn't messed the lips. The hair is beautiful. She was actually better and kinder than a lot of "best reviewed". Loved it ✨
Klara Kent she had lots of bad reviews. So she was the worst rated salon online. You’re right, the look was very nice and doesn’t deserve the bad rating
Klara Kent In Ecuador you can find a makeup artist for $20 or less. I think that the bad review is because the price is not a cheaper rate. In Ecuador when you pay that amount your expect a makeup like James Charles you know what I mean.
The MUA definitely has talent and is beautiful inside and out! It would be awesome to see you go to her again and see her improvement over the last year. I wish her so much success 💜
@@lewinchesters She had on long fake nails too. All kinds of germs and bacteria could have been spread to the customer using those. Those are a big No No.
Enviable eyeliner. Fresh Q-tips for each client would be optimal. Sanitizing brushes between client, new sponges each client, and sharpening pencils each client. I'm really impressed that Judy hasn't gotten some kind of infection from lack of sanitation. That eye liner though, was worth the risk.
Wait but I actually loved the result The foundation was a bit dark and the brow shade was a little bit too brown but however the eyes were so pretty and she actually picked a beautiful lipstick it was adorable that she also did your hair
In latín american countries like Ecuator, there is a great taboo around trans people. They are mistreated, harassed, beat , even killed. Is very unfair and sad.
@@yati_xox I went to Ecuador as a school trip and had a great time, the people there were so kind, it really saddens me to know that awful things are happening, people who can't help who they are, I hope people find kindness in they're hearts to love all kinds of people.
I wont mind bringing my makeup to the shop and letting her do my face. That’s such a great job. I mean the eyeshadow was blended beautifully and the liner was on point!
Actually made me sad to hear that she mainly got bad reviews because she's trans. That's just mean and unnecessary, simply bullying. It really doesn't matter in this profession, so who cares? She did a good job. Good on you for supporting her.
The eyeliner was the best I’ve ever seen on you, ever- that extra flick in the inner corners and the way she did the fine angle flick at outer ends was perfect and worked so well for your face and eye shape. No one ever seems to take your unique eye and face shape into consideration like this, it suited you so well. Your eyes looked gorgeous 😍
As a trans man, it makes me so mad to hear people leave bad reviews on someone's services because that person is trans. Don't leave a review that impact ratings and advertising because the person is a specific sexuality or gender. Note them instead for their service, because that's what the rating system is for. You're using this system to share if they were likeable, if they keep good hygiene, if they use good materials, if they're not harsh on your skin. The fact she's transgender doesn't do a damn thing to her performance as a MUA.
The eyeliner was perfectly executed. The lashes looked relatively flawless, ok shade match was off but it was blended seamlessly... I think this look ACTUALLY was done with care and sincere effort. For those of us who have a mind that agrees with our anatomy, let's not be unkind to those who are trapped in such a prison, we have no idea what they go through and not a single one of us is in any position to judge, dictate, or abuse someone else's struggle and pain. Kindness is free, but hate costs more than a lifetime of monetary debt. Let's love each other and just respect one another... Love you Judy, you're REALLY a beautifully graceful and mature young woman, respect and admiration from the USA 😘🤩✌️💛💋
@@themischief420 I think they meant being trapped in the wrong body as being a prison. As in, you're a woman, born in the body of a male and try to free yourself from that prison by transitioning.
@@themischief420 I'm sorry, I didn't want to offend you. I've just heard many trans people describe the pre-transition feeling that way and I just wanted to express that I don't think the commenter had ill intent.
I think if she got the right tools and had proper sanitizing for her brushes (Ditch the sponges), get various tones of foundation! Aside from that she’s got dayumn good potential
That's heartbreaking that people have been leaving bad reviews because of that. I think she did a pretty good job! especially with the eyes and brows! also practise makes perfect and that only happens if we give each other chances to prove it!
I mean here in our country, in the Philippines 🇵🇭 majority of the MUA in salons are part of the LGBTQ and they're awesome❤️ There are still people tho who thinks that getting their makeup done is pricey (tho it isn't actually) They deserve more recognition❤️
She had a lot more skill than some of the others you have been to. A little training to bring up hygiene standards and I think she would be ok. She needs a supportive work environment.
I'm going to imagine it's just because they don't carry light enough or dark enough shades. But with how often I'm told my Casper ass needs a tan... Probably not.
Jessica Meyer Yes, I loved the eye liner! One of my biggest criticisms of most MUAs is that they don’t take her unique eye and face shape into consideration when doing the eyeliner- Judi has very big wide set eyes and that inner flick together with not overextending the outer wing really worked. The whole eyeliner shape made such a difference to the look and suited her so well!
Im glad your speaking up especially in your new videos. Makes me wanna literally cry with joy. I have trouble speaking up but its something im working on!
She actually did a decent job! And she made your hair look beautiful!! All for $20!?!? With lashes!!!!??? I mean, she's no Pat McGrath, but she is actually better than the $20 she charged!!
@@Jaspe_C it was only $20. And it included lashes. From what I can gather from your comment you would be the type of client that would expect the best of the best, all the add ons, mink lashes, the works, for $5. 🙄🙄
I love how she did your eyeliner!!! Aside from the foundation shade being a little off, she did a good job 👏 and the hygiene needed improvement as well but you looked so cute after!!!!
It’s never okay to leave a review on something like someone’s race, gender, sexual orientation, or anything along those lines. I think she really did do a decent job and went the extra mile to do your hair and add lashes which was sweet! She seemed to love what she was doing and with better communication, cleaner products/ more hygienic applicators, and some practice she could really get so much better with time! I do think the fact that she didn’t take no for an answer and used a blade on your eyebrows even though you didn’t want it would have made me left a bad review if I was someone who left reviews.. And the lack of hygienic practices! Those are two easy fixes though. She just needs to listen to customers, and get brushes she can sanitize or get disposable applicators!
I agree with you. Even thought I do think there were some homophobic reviews I don't believe majority of 1 star reviews was because of it. The basic rule in the service industry is "do what the client want". I had my make up done by a lot of different people with differents techniques and I never criticized them because they did what I showed them. The woman in the video did not respectes her client and make her use things she didn't want to. It doesn't look like a problem in this video because the youtuber is really soft but what her make up artist did was really wrong and disrespectful. If you can't respect your client's preferences you shouldn't be working with it, because your client is paying you. I'm really shy and I'm not a really picky person but like the girl I HATE artificial eyelashes so if I was in this girl's place I would be super mad.
@@ikaru5089 but the thing is, if that's what people weren't happy about, they could have just mentioned that. People love to rant in bad reviews. If it was just/mostly that and it reflected in the reviews, it would have been mentioned in the video. Yeah, getting strong-armed isn't nice, but someone who wouldn't put their foot down and say no on the spot wouldn't necessarily go and leave a bad review, either, I've done that at salons and mostly I'm just resigned so I ignore it but don't go back. Plus, for that price point, and if the result was good, it might not be the best but wouldn't necessarily be the WORST reviewed. It's not such a stretch to think some of those negative reviews were biased.

You absolute darling! Honestly you're super courageous to stand up against these bullies! Apart from the shade of the foundation, it was a look! He definitely has the ability to look at someone and quickly work out how to enhance their features.. Too many, don't have the same ability. I really hope this video helps, with the 'mammoth task' of getting people to see past peoples gender Professionally speaking, after showing the whole process, 'and that end result,' with the limiited tools and shades available, anyone who doesn't realise you cannot accurately estimate how talented/skilled/professional etc a person is by looking at someone amd determining theor gender/sexual orientation etc. Absolute nonsense it is!! You are amazing 👏 New sub 😁
For a worst reviewed makeup artist, she was by far one of the best I’ve seen, only bad points would be the hygiene, application & foundation shade but she made it work for what she had. 👏
The foundation looking two shades darker is a very latin american thing. All the women in my family always try to look like they have a litlle tan. Cause they asociate a tan with lively skin, and pale with sickness. I'm really pale so I know 😔
I have white white skin. I have tumors on my spine somewhere in my DNA im Irish and Mexican ive always hated my skin and used tanning beds and colored lotion. A lot of teasing went on calling me leche. I know women who hate me and speak about me in Spanish until I let them know In Spanish I have a condition named cancer and my skin will not tan nor burn in the sun. I too have hated my non tan skin as well. And i finally stopped caring because Asian men and black men absolutely love paper white skin. It gave me confidence and i dont even wear makeup now but I am so good at applying makeup because I can paint well. I still use tanning lotion tho I see how beautiful ppl are kinder to me if I do full face. And long sleeves. It is a sad thing in this ugly world where physical beauty can make ppl ugly. I even ask ppl. Why were you mean to me. Why do you get nice after I speak to you in Spanish? They stay silent. No one has given me a good answer and I think how sad their life must be filled with physical beauty like nice packaging but the inner product is horrible. They look at me and say awe how sad she is losing her color, hair and body and I think how sad they will never know true beauty in within the soul. Balance is this worlds greatest talent. My physical appearance makes my soul beautiful and then their beauty blocks them from knowlege and growth. Good packaging will never overcome if a bad product is filled to the brim of ugly. Plain packaging so the perfect product inside can shine. Would you rather have good soul and "ugly" features or beautiful with a lack luster personality?
Yep, I'm latin american too and I get shit from my family for being the palest one, they always tell me I look sick and that I should go outside more (so I get tanned) lol
This lady has genuine talent. The look she did on you was very chic, and I can tell she’ll go far in the MUA industry. I hate how closed-minded some people can be. She was so attentive and sweet. You should totally drop the store name so we can write positive reviews about her work!🖤
*9:03** does anyone else feel like she just went and grabbed her eyeliner that she liked better from her purse to use on her lol?? She was like "ugh I hate this eyeliner, I'm just gonna go grab my own that I know I like and use it on this customer, she looks clean so whatevz"*
I think it’s safe to say, she didn’t have all of the tools (mascara wands, foundation colors, brushes, etc). However, she did a great job with what she had. The lip color was not great but the application wasn’t bad. The eyeshadow wasn’t great but it has potential. Overall it looked nice. You looked very pretty.
Hi Judy. I’ve been bing watching your videos. What a sweetheart you are and you edit your videos so well. Lots of fun to watch. This makeup job I think was one of the best. You look so beautiful. The makeup artist did a really great and neat job❤
Hope this MUA has all the success in the world, she did a fab job, she could only work with the tools she could afford and she did an excellent job with what she had
I'm arriving a year after this was first posted, and I don't think she did a bad job either. Perhaps the colours weren't quite right, but her customer service and the way she was so gentle with your face shows she loves and cares about the job, and the people she works for also think the same. I'm surprised there isnt a GoFundMe page to send her to some professional makeup classes to help her improve and get better, because she has the passion. And it would also be a big F U to those who left negative reviews.
Rewatching this video again after several years, and I’m gonna say it... this lady wins the award for the BEST RESULT you’ve EVER HAD at a “WORST REVIEWED” place! The foundation was too dark, but aside from that it actually looked good! The eyes especially were lovely- that eyeliner was perfection... as far as I remember this was the first MUA on your channel to recognise that have beautiful wide set eyes, and give you the extra liner flick in the inner corners, which just looks so good on you and it’s brilliant to see you actually incorporated that style of liner into your own make up looks over the last year. Super video ❤️
People hating on that MUA for being transgender to go as far as writing bad reviews and tainting their career is sickening. Anyway, everything looked great besides the foundation. And I like how you clarified you wanted a soft lip color and then proceeded to get a bright pink 😂 still beautiful! Of course, someone's gotta be straight up and tell her that makeup sponge is stanky.. if I had her smashing that gross thing all over my face I would stop her right there and ask for a clean one. I'm not good with confrontation and hate to criticize anyone but that's just gross lol
@@bonniehowell4259 did you not read the pinned comment? Judy actually complimented her so I don't think this video is hurting her career. It's only titled "worst reviewed" because *other* people have left bad reviews. She even added "gone right" in the title. If anything, Judy is trying to show people she's not a bad MUA.
I love that you can still give the makeup artists the benefit of the doubt, and point out what you like about it. You’re such a sweet girl with a kind heart. I really like your eyeshadow in this one. The foundation is a little to dark. You’re right though, it doesn’t matter who does your makeup, as long as your makeup looks good and you have a good experience.
Beautiful makeup look, especially the eyes! Yes the foundation is a little dark but definitely one of the best make up artists in a while and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves! 😊
I was so excited for that shiny face moment! 😂 My dry skin suffers so much everytime i see them putting infinite layers of foundation on your not previously moisturized skin 😭
This is the best of all your worst reviewed mua series. It’s pathetic that people reviewed her badly because she’s trans 😢 she can definitely line that eye it was on point! The eyes look great!
I loved your look too! I can see that she passionately did her best and it made me kind of sad when she said that there’s “Nobody” there. Hoping that your video can help stop gender discrimination because whatever your gender is, you can always be at your best! 💕🌈
I Agree !!!! This was 1 of the better looks Judy has gotten and for only 20 dollars ! I can't even be mad about anything because she tried her best and it did come out pretty good Also I had no idea she was transgender until Judy told us
