I am a veteran of guitar lessons on the ol tube here across the whole variety of teachers .... and I always find your lessons and ways of playing super calm steady way of explaining to be top notch, straight forward and easy to digest. Thanks !
Thank you jpm. Your chords & instruction are thorough & concise. I picked it up in no time. I only know a few Beatles tunes and I wanted to learn this one. Glad I stumbled upon your channel. Promptly subscribed. Thanks again.
The melody of this song just makes me melt into the floor. I can't even get close to writing something as beautiful as this. No other band did so many stunning melodies. You have have a great singing voice:)
Good advice. It just irks me when I or many others post vids to share with others and someone who contributes nothing to RU-vid goes around trashing others. But you're right. I should ignore that stuff because 99% of the comments I get are from great folk form all over the world. You keep watching and I'll keep posting. More coming soon. Thanks and cheers!
It's nice that this video exists. It's better than a teacher because I can rewind you and just watch again without annoying anyone. Thanks for being thoughtful.
Hey dude, awesome! what a great song & you make it so easy to follow, just wrote out lyrics, filled in your chords & nailed it in just over an hour. BIG THANK YOU.
This guitar lesson could have been more than 6 years ago. But I wish to thank you for posting this beautiful masterpiece.. Iam from philippines. And I know that the beatles don't like this country of mine.. But I would like to tell everybody that most of us here admire the beatles songs. Even until today..
That E maj 7 chord is a bear! That's gonna take a lot of exercising to nail that one easily. But it sure sounds lovely when it's nailed. Thanks so much for this video. You're a huge help to my never-to-be music career. :)
Man your is the best on U Tube. And I watched them all. Thank you for teaching this song. It is Beautiful. It will take me a few times watching you do this. But it will come to me.Thanks again.
This is a great song to improve our barre chord muscles. Or to challenge them. This is a great instructional video that I've watched over and over. Still not there yet.........
I was learning the song from the Macca live show and I found your lesson. Well done. You saved me some time and I really enjoyed your approach. Thanks so much.
Wish I had found your version 4 hours ago before I tried to convert from the other keys to the "live acoustic" version. Good lesson and easy to follow....not the easiest chords but follows his live performance which is what I wanted.
40 years is a long time to leave the guitar. Glad to hear your getting back into it and hope you stay hooked. Sounds like you went to 2 amazing shows. I didn't get the chance to see him up here in Canada and regret it. Anyway, glad to help out with the vids and hope you keep watching. Thanks for the message.
from Jose' Sepulveda, the "Herrmeterec"......Joe...I cannot tell you how much time you have saved me over the years. You are my MAN! Yeah, I could work this stuff out but you have already done it and done a really great job of it. I take your chords and usually insert jazzy substitute chords, but the arrangements are without a doubt YOURS. Thanks so much, youe friend Jose'
Thanks for this vid. Took the mystery outta this tune for me. Found myself playing along with your version. LoL I'd really like to hear your take on Til There Was You.
Hey Scott, glad to hear that. Yeah I wish we had RU-vid when I was a kid. It would have saved me endless days of picking up and putting down that record needle to try to figure out these songs. Keep on practicing. I make it a habit of practicing every night after work, if nothing else, just to relax me. Cheers
Great lesson!! Thank you so much for posting this. Besides being a great teacher you need to be commended for your singing voice. Your vocal is very very good on this.
Thanks for posting a superb tutorial. Unfortunately it convinced me I'm not quite ready for this song - some of the chord changes too tough for a real beginner like me. But that's a valuable service, too. And I WILL BE BACK when I'm more proficient. Keep on teaching!
hey Joe, love your choice of songs(Beatles),love your way of teaching, i am just starting with barre chords, learned the basic in my 20 ies, then didn,t play for 40 years, started back 2 years ago, after starting to watch youtube, bought a Seagull sws dread. very pleasant, good sound. went to James taylor show in july12,last year paul mcca. in Mtl. just love music, anyway ,i am hooked for good now, keep the good work,so precious to us students, thanks
Great lesson here Joe, I like the close-ups, and those chords really fall into the tone of the song . The whole package is easy to capture, you,re making us better players, thanks for this, John, Montreal
Your welcome I was trying 2 learn how to play the live version last summer but I couldnt quite figure it all out. thanks for making this video know I can play and sing this song for my girlfriend whenever I get one haha!
I am totally impress with this lesson, to think over the years i was using the old book stuff, which i know now it was wrong.. Whew i have my work cut out for me. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with all of us☻
Yeah, it's hard to find the right chords in books. Glad you liked the video and I'll be putting up the White Album version of this song one of these days. Peace
from Jose' Sepulveda, El Hermetereco........I like your chord breakdowns........steal 'em all the time. I am a performer and I'd like to say that you are no mean singer, too. You've a pretty darn good voice, my friend!
@welcometoslaggers Thanks for the kind words and support. People like you make it all worthwhile. Glad you feel inspired and looking forward to seeing you play on Tube one of these days. Cheers friend. Joe
Yeah it surprises me when people are insulting too. Sometimes it gets to me but then I look at all the many great people who have written me and that makes it all worthwhile. The great spirit of RU-vid lives. You're all right with me too Jose. Peace my friend!
Glad you found the channel too and great that the vid helped you out. Thanks for the sub and for taking the time to comment. Cheers friend. More vids to come.
Thanks there Chris. Not a fan of barre chords either until I started playing them like John, like open chords with the thumb covering the low E string. Cheers.
