This is an honest review of my BMW M850i and BMW customer service after 3 years of ownership! As much as I would love to say that I enjoyed the car, I'm happy for it to be gone! GOOD RIDDANCE BMW!!
But ive heard so many people say these same things about there cars. And the dealerships dont take care of its customers. Dodge is the same. I'll stick with Lexus. They take care of there customers and they don't tolerate having a bad product. I had a friend get a Brand New Lexus. That had a bad computer. Thats what they thought they werent sure. Did they keep her in that car. Absolutely not. Once she took it in the second time for the same problem with 800 miles on it. They gave her a loaner for a 2 weeks and she had a brand new car with 200 miles. Plus they gave her extra stuff for the inconvenience. Thats how you treat your customers. She told everybody. I was a Dodge customer and very loyal. I had 3 cars from them 1 brand new. And ill never buy another Dodge again. I currently drive a Lexus. And was thinking about a M8 competition. After seeing this video i feel stupid considering even leaving the brand. If it's not broke dont fix it. So glad i saw this video. I heard the newer BMW's are much more reliable. I guess not like i had heard. Either way no biggie. They are all cars some are just made better then others. All will eventually die one day. Much like people. Except when they die it's over over. 😂
I had 9 new bmw's in the last10 years. I currently have a 2024 x5m a 2019 f90m5 comp and a 2021 x3 and I can honestly say besides brakes and rotors due to my driving, I never had an electrical on motor trans issue in my life. the only cat that gave me problems was my 2007 e60 m5 after 70k miles and it was due to the abuse I put that car through. Beamer for Life! sucks you had a bad dealership and lemon to deal with.
I own a 2022 BMW M550, I have had zero issues. Got it when it was brand new. You are jumping to the extreme by saying you will never buy another one, when it’s quite clear you probably had a lemon. Is this your first BMW?
Oh that’s good to hear since they have the same engine. Looking at swapping my 2022 X5 40i for a 2023 M850i with good mileage. Want to make sure it’ll be good like my X5 has been.
I have loved my BMWs and they have been reliable, both purchased brand new, and my dealership has been a pleasure to deal with. I’m gentle on my cars and keep them for many years.
Went through this with my 2022 CT5 Blackwing. My car stayed in the shop. I opened up a claim through the BBB Auto Line. They labeled my car a lemon gave me refunded me my money. I would say instead of going through lawyers put in a claim with the Better Business Bureau.
as if you had this issue with a ct5 blackwing. at least in Canada and you know exchange rates theyre like a 130k$ car over here. sorry to hear that man. glad you got your money back :) im sure in a way it was hard to get rid of cause im sure when it was working right it was probably a blast.
This is hard to believe. I'm a Mercedes guy, and I've never heard of any issues with the Grand Coupe. I liked your video, but I wouldn't tell people not to buy this car.
I got 2021 7 series and 0 problems. 20k on the clock and last years did 5k drive around the Europe, from which 2k on autobhans 155mph where ever is possible
@moneyhardaway - I have a 2019 M850 i and for screens keep shutting off. I just had it in the dealership. Off warranty this car is a nightmare. I’ve owned 12 BMW’s. 328i / 335i / X5 / 528 i / 530 i / 550 i / 645 i / 650 i / M5 / M6 / 735 i / M850 i snd now considering a a new M4 with extended warranty

I really want to jump on the BMW train but man I keep hearing about how unreliable they are. These cars are way too expensive to be this unreliable. I heard they’re a*holes at the dealerships too
It's a bit of a misnomer. They are, long term, expensive to maintain. Buying second hand is precarious because first owners usually thrash them. But this type of issue- a lemon with electrical issues - is rare to the point where it's basically unheard of. New ones - particularly B48 and B58 engines- are Toyota levels of reliable. But even Toyota produces the occasional lemon.
I don't know about this...but I know for the past few years the B48 and B58 engines are very reliable if serviced..I've owned several with 0 problems..the most miles I've put on each car was about 45k to 50k miles in a little over 3 years and still never had problems..I have to say BMW has improved in reliability since the early 00s..i dont bother with the 50 and the M engines..the 40(B58) is good enough for me with just enough speed.
I love BMW's. And would love to own one,however Im scared to death of nightmare stories like this..These cars are expensive,and even more expensive to fix if not under some type of warranty. Can you imagine the cost of all these knick nack repairs?? The ultimate driving machine. 🤦🏾
Sucks that you had so many issues with your car. It’s a beautiful car and I often think about getting the 850i or the M8 myself.Its funny that I have owned 5 BMWs and never had a problem. I buy a Mercedes AMG GLE 63s and as soon as I get it home, I realize there was an exhaust leak at the engine. At only 300 miles on the clock, the vehicle sat in the service lot for almost two months. Just like you, I reached out to customer service and they act like it was normal . Never got a resolution as customer advocacy stop answering my calls and emails. I agree with you that these car companies don’t care about their customers or the quality of the products that they sell., not just BMW! My vehicle is running fine now as far as I can tell but once I decide on what car I want next, I will never buy a Mercedes vehicle again. I’ll be trading the GLE in at the one year mark.
sell this car, sell a kidney, and buy yourself a decent car like a Porsche 911 GT3 or Targa4 GTS or 911 S/T or Turbo S, after this you will never be switching to another car brand.
is there a possibility you had rats chewing on the electrical system? That’s a common problem with newer BMW’s and their electric systems they use soy based insulation and rats like to eat it and BMW doesn’t cover rodent damage.
Remember dude, once you have spent your blood money on the car, the dealership does not see you as a customer no more, you just become a pain in the arse to the dealer, even if you spent 100, 200, 300 or even $500,000 on a car, just face it, this is reality, as soon as they get your money, you are free to go, and the dealer is just hunting for another victim. Remember Your expectations are your problem.
Bro I have a 2019 M850i and my fuel pump went bad with only 21k miles on the car and my first month of owning the car I went over a bump on the road and the entire mode selector (sports adaptive comfort eco) that entire side of the gear selector stopped working and they had to replace the whole unit. I personally think I just got a bad car because I’ve owned a handfull of BMW’s before and no issues. The fuel pump I had to pay out of pocket bmw didn’t wana take any responsibility for it even though my car is fully stock no tune nothing. The gear selector was covered under warranty thank god if not I would’ve sold it right then and there.
I was gonna get 1 till i saw this video. I was choosing between the lexus GSF and this. I'll go with the lexus. With a super charger from RR racing, it's faster than a hellcat. If i get a tune and some mods, i can probably get to 600. That's what I'll do. The GSF is more reliable. Not as fast but fast. Reliability is much more important to me than speed.
He keeps contradicting himself. Which one is it the car give you issues or is it that you can't afford the payment because how would you go to a Porsche from a BMW and inspect no issues in front of reviews I've seen 2019 and 2022 m850i has no issues
dont see what the frick acura and audi have in common besides they both start with an A. Assuming youre suggesting they both wont break I don't think most people would say Audi has the same reliability reputation has Acura..
All of those German cars are crap. One here one there but Audi , bmw and Mercedes suck. Unreliable cars after a few years. Im still oissed at Audi. I took great care of it just for it to crap out on me. Smh
