The only impressive part of this card is that green players understand rounding. Welcome to another commander roast! #mtg #magicthegathering #mtgcommunity #cardgame
@@DoctorKarul Fun fact, according to Arena, you handle all the poison counters from every instance of Toxic simultaneously, so you just need to do toxic 1 twice to do one poison counter For some reason
@@brennanruiz1803this might be correct but never take arena as proof. Here is an example: If you have multiple abilities that increase or multipy damage by sources you control then the controller of the permanent who is dealt the damage gets to choose the order in which those effects are applied. In arena it just does max damage
As a person who runs this commander.....I can't say he's wrong. The deck is fast, can be aggro, but the superfriends aspect is wild. Play Ugin, The Spirit Dragon and Ultimate. I tapped an Everflowing Chalice for 96 mana once. This guy left war crimes behind in his cradle, folks....he's moved right the hell on. With a Doubling Season at 5 mana, this gets more than insane.
Bloody 'ell... Quadrupling your own counters and halfing the opponents' counters. All you need is some form of cheese with extra combat steps and Helm of the Host, then you have multiplicity through the roof. (I've seen it done with the Progress Dominus creature thing that doubles tokens made, and it eventually got to the point where one copy became 612 copies (I think))
@@charadreemerr4195ou think doubling season + anointed procession (+Glory dominus?) is crazy. Check the math on creating copies of Academy Manufactor.
Vorinclex is without a doubt the most evil praetor, and before anyone objects, this card halves counters you put, ROUNDED DOWN. And since most non-green, aka law-abiding colors put just one counter on a creature, have fun putting 1/2 of 1, rounded down to ZERO. Also, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger.
Also also, he fucks over Infect. As well as making Infect even worse. I get to hit you with 5 poison counters and you lose but you have to hit me for 20.
@@thetime-wornspire9095 I play madness and my hand size is irrelevant. My vampires getting zero +1/+1 counters a bunch of times excites me greatly on the other hand. Making atraxa and edgar markov look like reasonable cards should make anybody worried about the power level of this mono green beat stick.
@@Distortia1994 ah but bingo is more horrifying as your quite litterly turning peoples lives into a game as compared to a job *which people get payed for doing some of these things already*
this is just about the only magic content i can even watch anymore. I can't express enough gratitude for the brevity. it's not too quick like tiktok or shorts, but it's not 15 or 30 fkn minutes saying the same thing over and over either.
Ah yes, I recently got my girlfriend a Vorinclex commander deck she built as her birthday present because I kinda wanted her to have her own physical deck to play instead of having to rely solely on my own. And man, as much as I love her being happy and enjoying EDH the war crimes committed upon me and the rest of the table with that deck keep me awake at night. I especially felt the Nissa who Shakes the Earth part, since she has actually pulled that shit on me twice already. I am the Kozilek the Great Distortion (among many others such as Krenko, Nekusar or Meren to name a few) player, so it's not like I can complain about the atrocities she pulls off in our games hahaha.
Look, we can complain all we want. Commander players complaining about war crimes except the many committed by their own decks is just a thing we do. Cheers lol
@@klevinratnayaka3528 Depends on what you consider to be a cheap or and expensive deck and how do you want to build it, but just seeing the price tag of the Vorinclex should let you know that it will most likely not be cheap regardless of your standards. Commander is pretty proxy friendly afaik, so you can just ask your playgroup if they are fine with you having some proxies with the expensive (within reasonable margins) cards.
Ah, Vorinclex. As far as I can recall, this was the only time I built and played a mono-green Commander deck. I had a good handful of planeswalkers in that deck, along with a smattering of infect creatures. I could only play that deck with my daughter and her friends, because my regular playgroup would have kicked my ass.
Double infect is what really makes Vorin so much of a threat in the current commander climate. Infect just got a HUUUUGE amount of support from the entire phyrexian story block, so only needing to do 5 infect damage is so laughably easy that it's damn near free.
@@unevenelephant469because green has no ways to deal with enchantments haha. I play vorinclex and sure sometimes its back breaking but its such a fun moment blowing up the Solemnity a turn or two later and getting back to your war crimes
Vorinclex is doubling season in the command zone. It’s a multiplier on a stick, and pretty much all multipliers in magic are busted. It just so happens that Vorinclex doubles like half the win cons in the game.
He's not spikes an dirt. He's raw muscles, sinew, an other tissue reused from things he killed when he decided to planeswalk without a spark. Also I just use him in my kyler deck, make my humans super swole
So funny story.. he’s one of my bf’s favs. I was thinking of buying a version of him to add to my Phyrexian line up. Was thinking of this card so hard two days ago. Yesterday I get to work to find a Phyrexia All Will Be One collector’s booster from a colleague. I worked for a bit and said screw it and opened it. The second or third slot had Vorinclex, and not just any version. It was the foil concept preator. So I some how manifested this boy in to my life. 🤷🏻♀️
Vorinclex is fun with the new Vraska, her -9 puts 9 poison counters on the opponent if they have none, but with vorinclex that becomes 18, so you play vorinclex then next turn play vraska and one hit kill with 18 poison
You're playing mono green you can cast your 6 mana commander on turn 3. Edit: this Vraska is mono black (I checked because I didn't know any mono green Vraska, she's usually Black/Green)
Vorinclex, my beloved. So many counters. So much salt from opponents. So beautiful. ....until he gets mind controlled or some shit and suddenly he is on the other team and he is too strong for me to remove now......
I love this 'series' if you will... like your description of how to use/abuse these cards are hilarious and on point. Keep up the good stuff!! Also 1st ask for a next video one of my beloved commanders, Queza, Augur of Agonies.
In 1v1 formats this is a game winning card to search up with Emergent Ultimatum and either Phrexian Vraska or Liliana from War of The Spark. The third card can be something like omniscience or just extra turn spells.
Thank you for making this video! I'm into MTG since 7 month and my deck is the tyranid swarm. I really needed to know how apply and how to use my vorinclex. Thank you man good video! What a great accent!
I played a game on arena where Nissa ulted and I realized hey, I'm not dead on board. Spit out a ton of tokens for blockers & explore triggers, which let lurking chupacabra start picking off lands and slowly but surely took that game.
Anybody ever questioning my decision to kill this thing the moment it gets played gets my answer: "Rounded down! Anything that does not create multiple counters does literally nothing." MoM Elesh has the decency to nope directly in your face while I have met people arguing monstrous rider would let other people play the game while being on the board.
I'm sorry. That Vorinclex into Nissa was probably me if it happened on Arena 😂. I had a Nissa deck whose entire game plan was to tutor up Vorinclex so she could immediately ultimate, and then animate all my lands
Best part of the Nissa, who shakes the world + Vorin combo is those forest are now tapping for double, so your looking at 40+ mana for green once that goes off
Hilariously enough, Vorinclex does not want to run any Battles in his deck list. They'd have double the Defense counters, making them even harder to flip. And your opponent's Battles would become easier to flip.
Well, maybe he want them. But its became an ever harder challenge, he set big goals to reach grand evolution, green dude doesn't forget about green grind 👊😎💀 just bring bigger creatures and pump with more tokens, if you swinging with 100/100 manadork - it doesn't matter if battle is 6 or 12 defence 😎😎😎
@@PhoenicopterusR No, because your opponent's would have to be playing Battles for them to benefit from Vorinclex halving the number of defense counters they start with.
@@Lukaz2009 Panoptic Mirror or Elite Arcanist + Fractured Identity, then just target any battle you control with Fractured Identity. That should give everyone but you a copy of the battle, right?
A fun interaction: if an opponent has Vorinclex out, their Vorinclex acts as an enabled for your own Devoted Druid combo (or anything else in the Devoted Druid cycle, but infinite mana is generally the best option). You know, because green ain't stupid enough, so it makes OTHER green stupid.
Vorinclex as Mega Marowak is a mental image I truly do not know how to feel about. But yes, Doubling Season jacked up on steroids, glistening oil, and moose meat is a Problem™.
Forget planes walker cards, my favorite thing to do with this guy is get out The Great Synthesis and power through chapters 1-2 at the same time. Your opponent(s) see it coming a mile away, but it's amazing if you can pull it off.
Me you plays 40 forests then proceeds to start digging everyone’s graves as a spam out 80 mana worth of 40/40 death machines with trample on my next turn.
I pulled him in one of the 6 dollar booster packs my friends and I bought for stocking stuffers last christmas and immediately made the cheekiest stompy green commander deck ive ever owned. love my vorinclex
I have doubling season and vorinclex in my Atraxa superfriends. Opponents think their safe when they kill them. Out comes Eerie Ultimatum to bring them back as well as all the revived planeswalkers getting the effects of both.
But it goes even deeper than that, opponent sagas don't get lore counters when Vorinclex comes out, while your saga's get double the counters. Your sagas fully resolve their effects twice as fast, their sagas never resolve at all! Also, tutoring up 40 lands and making them indestructible with Nissa? Please, that's not broken enough, try getting Garruk, Unleashed out with immediate access to the "tutor any creature I want at the end step" emblem, which means your opponent needs stack interaction to stop it, or interact with it after the fact. And if they have none, it's GG!
Thoughts on Archelos, Lagoon Mystic? flavor text made me want to use him as a commander to slow down my hyper competitive friend at our table but i worry ill slow down the game too much for everyone but myself. also keep up the great work love your vids they make my day that much more better
Green is really ridiculous, it takes to much away from others, and I can't believe that creature, you pay six for a 6/6, with trample which is what a card should be getting at that level. But the haste ontop of it is not needed, nor are the doubling counters or half them, that feels more like at least a 9 mama to 12 mana card.
I actually enjoyed Vorinclex in my Freyalise Elfball back in the day, though I think that was probably the fair way to play Vorinclex. Also, have you heard the good news of Karona, Flase God?
Soooooo. Tatyova, Steward of the tides. I did something like that in simic with that vorinclex. "Ok, so a total of 38 lands are on the board for me, all are indestructible, and are flying 3/3s"
I made a proliferate/poison counter deck with ixhel scion of atraxa as my commander. I am thinking of buying Vorinclex to keep my friends from giving their token creatures +1/+1 counters and every time i proliferate it would double it. My friends love playing token/copy decks so it would be really fun watching them start to panic and it becomes public enemy number one
I run this in a GU historic with Double Major and Search for Greatness. Thanks to the new plethora of cards with phyrexian mana costs, it's easy to fufill requirements for Search for Greatness and i'm constantly turn5/6 Vorinclex with a double major cast on top of it.
You forgot my favourite part about this: Your stuff gets half the counters... rounded *down*. So if something would get just 1 counter? Well too bad lil Jimmy will starve today.
