When I first subbed, I wasn't sure why I kept watching. But then I realized - Brad does a REALLY good job of explaining his thought processes and strategy. I really like that.
I agree with showing the hand sometimes. I like to use it to build credibility for bluffs later down the road, or tilt others who are playing reckless. I usually don't show on the massive pots though where everyone is dying to see. Grats on your big win.
Thanks man. Yeah, I think it's good to do occasionally to control your image. I had bluffed in a few hands prior to that one so I wanted to build some credibility back and it was a board that I won't normally connect with very well. I thought it'd be good to have the Q9 hand in the back of their minds the next time there's a board out that doesn't seem like I should connect well with it.
I generally dont show but I agree there are moments when it makes you more money by showing the odd hand. I like to show the odd big bluff or nut hands but generally when I show its when I flopped the nuts with 67s or some such.
If your ranges are balanced in general, and the hand is just part of that, you're not giving any info away. If you made an exploitative play, it's probably best just to muck 'em
Brad please do a video on etiquette while in a casino. tipping, respect to staff etc. I'm autistic and i don't often make sense of what you are doing there
I dont agree with the tips he does at the window....I would think $100 on that type of cash out would make sense...but as a recreation player maybe its different for the pro's... that do this for a living.
100 is way too big! Nobody tips you on your way out when you lose hundreds or thousands of dollars. I think Brad does a great job of tipping at the window.
@@bradensmith8170 maybe you're correct.... the guy that taught me holdem was a guy by the name of Don Williams...bracelet winner his moniker was "The Best Unkown Poker Player" said to tip the cage girls like they were your mother. I understand poker has evolved from a gamblers perspective to a job like perspective... but when i have a nice hit, I like to tip the cage... JMO
Been trying to learn a lot more from your videos. Went to another tournament Tuesday night. $60 buy in No Limit. Played hard for almost 4 hours and took home the 1st place win! Not a ton of players but I walked out with $336 so I'll take it!
Damn a 60 dollar buy in for a first place price of 336, how many players were there? I did a 10 dollar buy in tournament the other night and finished 4th place and took home 313 dollars
Awesome dude. Best feeling in the world is walking out if the casino with 5 or 6 times what you came in with. Making 80 or 90 bucks an hour and enjoying it.
Oh!i know how to play and I’m no stranger to poker rooms! But i feel like the other players have to much of an advantage over me, because i have been playing 7stud for 30yrs but love watching your blog!by the way I think that Foxwoods poker room regrets not considering having your meet up game there, last year!
That Tenderloin joke was subtle, brutal, and brilliant. Love how you sprinkle in creative humor throughout the vlog without being over the top about it. Congrats on a nice win, sir!
I didn't expect to learn about Finance "charging opponents with high interest rate" or "loyalty to the 👑" in a poker vlog. Super entertaining episode to watch. You've outdone yourself, Brad!🤑👌
Good for me to find you, you haven't lost a step as your poker commentary is both enjoyable and educational. For the moment I'm living vicariously through your winning session of good money 💰. I hope you..
I've watched a few of your video Brad , and I've always hit the like button .... now, I just finished subscribing to your channel. "May all your cards be live, and your pots monsters!"
Bro I’ve been binge watching ur vlogs for about a week now and I love them they’re so entertaining and informative. I’ve been crushing my friends recently and I credit you. Thanks bro and great content!!!!!
Also if there is a guy raising $800 blind how many people are really going to be analyzing the three hands I’ve showed to the table over the last 4 hours
"I was planning on revealing my cards to a few hundred thousand people with detailed explainations anyway" might be one of the greatest flexes I've ever heard
As a former poker dealer i have to say you are the only poker vlog I'll watch not only are you a solid player buy you seem like a good person. You have a good personality which is sorely lacking in the sea of hoodies and sunglasses. I am also impressed with you not asking to see the opponents hand, shows a lot of restraint against a possible rec player which shows you know where your income comes from. And it shows you wont kick an opponent while he is down. While in Phoenix or if you come back I would love to see a vlog of you in the 20/40 hold em or OE game, those games are pretty wild. And while I rarely play anymore if I run into you I'll buy you a beer.
The bigger issue is I think he sized too small on the turn. Should have bet at least half, because while a lot of guys aren't huge thinking players, his bet looked like a blocker bet, which even the most oblivious fish reads as weak.
Tough to watch what all 6 opponents are doing with their cards all the time. Not looking is obviously a losing play in the long run so I don't usually suspect it from anyone... In this case, I actually thought that he hadn't looked at his cards and asked him about it in the middle of the hand (you can hear us have a conversation on the turn if you listen closely but you can't really make out the words). At that time he said he had looked and I believed him - he went back on that once the hand was over and that's what his "good read, I still haven't looked at my cards" was referring to. I react surprised, not because I was shocked he hadn't looked but surprised because he lied to me. Usually people tend to just be quiet rather than lie about that kind of thing.
@@BradOwenPoker watching all players all the time is indeed tough but still a players should do his best to try and watch the other players.... is poker man, and a % of being succesful is keeping your eyes open for any "tell" and habit. Btw you asked him if he had looked at his cards cause you thought you didn't see him looking? Cause if so you made one more mistake to trust him on that answer imo...
Damn Brad, saw one of your videos randomly pop up on my recommendations one day and I've been binge watching since! Never thought I'd see the day youtube algorithm does its job right but thanks for always putting out this great content. Keep it up dude, hoping to see some more wins!
So glad that your back Brad, I hope that you are feeling 100%. I checked every day hoping that you would back soon. Seeing a new video from you made my day.
@@BradOwenPoker No, not until I posted my comment! I felt so stupid saying that I checked every day, and then somehow I missed it! I expected to be pounced upon by your more dedicated fans. Honestly though, I really enjoy your videos, and I think that you are a very good player.
Thanks for making me interested in poker again Brad. I didn't think I had the patience for it, but watching your vids got me excited again and watching you is making me play better and better. The good, the bad, all of it is making me a better player, so thanks.
Im born and raised in vegas but never been gambling. Watching your videos makes me want to learn and have a little controlled fun with it. Nothing crazy but just some enjoyment.
Absolutely my favorite poker room as well just moved from Arizona I lived there a little over two years probably spent over 50% in the Talkingstick LOL really wish I could’ve met my favorite blogger
Love your content Brad, keep it coming. I've just recently started playing poker tourneys in bars a few times a week and your vlogs are helping me get much better.
Absolutely love your videos Brad. Thanks so much for all the content this year! Coming out to Vegas in a few weeks and going to try my hand at live poker in the Casino for the first time ever- wish me luck!
I love your videos Brad .. the phil Ivey black jack joke was hilarious, your very informative and super entertaining to watch .. great personality .. stoked for you getting to make a living doing what you love and appreciate you sharing it with everyone
@@BradOwenPoker for sure man .. I’ve watched so many of your videos and you have helped me improve a lot too ♣️ ♦️ ♠️ ❤️ .. I started a RU-vid Channel for a bit so I understand how much work it takes to do what your doing … I hope to meet you someday and play some “jiggidies” on the same table as you! Haha .. if you ever come out to Hawaii let me know and I’ll take care of ya .. With Aloha, Brian “nugget” Boltwood
Glad to see you take care of the dealers. So many other Vloggers don’t show that! As a dealer we appreciate you showing that you do take care of us! Not saying they don’t take care of us, but you don’t see it in they’re Vlogs.
Brad - love your vids and commentary. Jokes also. I haven’t played for over a year now due to Covid. Watching you is a decent substitute, but I hope to get back on the tables soon.
My first week playing actual poker, I play 13 hours of 1/2 and come out +997. Then of course I load up RU-vid and this is the first video I see. Great vlog brad, somehow I missed this one before.
Im addicted to poker so I love watching brad. I personally only play tournaments. I dont play cash because I dont think about all the possibilities like brad. But I do really good at tournaments.
