I ain’t saying she a gold digger but she ain’t messing with no broke broke. Great reaction. Just watching these. Raiders is one of my favorite movies of all times. I was a kid when I watched it. Kinda stuck with me. Just to let you know some folks will say after 3 the movies get worse. They don’t. They are great. Great reactions. 👏👏😊🥰

I had a feeling Tara would despise Willie 😅 In Kate Capshaw's defense, Willie is a satire of damsels in distress played to 11. I find her absolutely hilarious in Temple of Doom. But if you aren't familiar with the serials that inspired Indy (especially Perils of Pauline), she's probably really annoying. I feel that watching the trilogy chronologically mitigates this somewhat by introducing Willie before Marion.

They're often called simply fruit bats, or "flying foxes." They're quite active during the day, and are surprisingly huge compared to the bats most people ever get to see.

@@tarmaqueWhere I grew up in Australia my house was under their flight path, and every single day at dusk til dark, the sky would be filled with millions of bats flying in the same direction. Occasionally one would find our mango or banana trees. Some of them were huge. My whole time in that house I never saw them return to the mangroves across the field, but saw them leave daily. I also got hit in the head with one once that was hanging low from a branch I walked under at night and he took off into me, scaring the heebiejeebies out of me.

@@tarmaque Run into a spider web you say ? Aforementioned banana trees were 3 in a tight triangle at the bases. We used to put food scraps and lawn mower clippings within the triangle and a moist 😅mound of mulched debris was a constant. One time while playing, a tennis ball went in there and I climbed in (barefoot) to get the ball. As soon as I jumped in there a spider sprinted up my leg, and started circling me and spinning web. He circled my entire body several times and got to my face in maybe 3-4 seconds. I smacked myself hysterically and flailed about frantically freaking out. I had fresh web all over me even my face. IT TOUCHED MY EAR. That was 40 years ago and my manhood crawls inside me thinking about it today.

This is a very suspenseful movie. Indiana Jones is by far one of the best characters in film history. The dinner table scene was cringe worthy. It was entertaining and it sent chills down my spine. Action movies are my favorites. This delivered The goods!

I took a very important date to this movie. I was getting training at Quantico and getting ready to go overseas. I landed a date with a Swedish diplomat's daughter who happened to look like Daryl Hannah in "Splash," which was also out. I was SO psyched, because this movie was going to be great and the evening would progress from there... "Anywho..." she DID have fun MAKING fun of the movie and as for me, "Raiders" simply set the bar too high for the rest of the franchise. My date and I agreed, "Short Round" was worth the tickets.

Temple of Doom is actually a prequel. It takes place before he becomes a professor. It's not the strongest of the three Indian Jones movies, but it's not horrible either.

27:53, something funny to offset that moment Tara, when I was about 9 years old I was headed to karate lessons after school with my grandma and a couple of my friends, now it was around four o'clock in the afternoon and I felt like yawning for some reason when a damn fly flew right into my mouth like it was an open hangar, naturally my grandma was consoling me while I spat out what remained of that fly while my friends were busy roasting that moment, well I hope it made you laugh because remembering it sure didn't do it for me.

I remember seeing this in the theater back when it released, when he was pulling her out of the lava pit and she slapped him hard after coming to...a woman in the audience blurted out, "Just put her back down there!" and damn near everyone laughed. Willie is the most despised character in all the Indy movies, more so than the villains...and I agree.

My guess for the blood recipe they made indy drink: equal parts of -blood from pennywise when he figures out he can't swim, -a pissed off emperor Palpatine trying to learn how to pack a parachute and repeatedly failing, -And a pissed off hanibal lector after being repeatedly being heckled and silenced by a 🐑 while doing slam poetry. -Alittle liquid T-1000. -Can of liquid death -Some mad dog 20/20 (now you REALLY don't want to pet that dog) -some moonshine mixed with tequila. -mix with the grinch's 39 1/2 ft pole. Then telly savalas drank that crap tooo many times and de-evolved into "mole-ram" priest.... AA meetings ain't gonna fix that...

Even though I was really young when they were released in ‘84, I had just turned 2 years old to be exact, but I distinctly remember seeing this movie and Romancing the Stone in the theaters. Even though this one is an alright movie, I personally think that the first & third movies are the best. I can also relate with Tara about the whole ADHD brain thing, and having a hard time sitting through movies, or sitting still for that matter, without adjusting how I’m sitting every 2 minutes or fidgeting in some way.

The bats are called Flying Foxes, and they have a diet of fruit and insects, not blood. The Indian government was so offended by the script, they refused to let them shoot there, so they had to shoot in Sri Lanka instead.

Red has a different cultural significance in China. It makes sense for Shanghai. Of course you should know her: she married Steven Spielberg instead of the Maharajah. She was Dennis Quaid's love interest in _Dreamscape_. So? Don't watch My Man Godrey? Yes, a raft falling from a plane would tumble and toss them around the landscape. A documentary talked about Amazonians who eat roasted tarantulas but are appalled by people cooking and eating chicken eggs.

I'm in the minority here, but I LOVE Willie Scott! Being a prequel, they didn't have to explain why Marion wasn't in the film, as in 1935 she was still stuck in Nepal. With a new "Bond Girl" in each film, they wanted the opposite of Marion. WIllie's clearly an "indoor" girl. Pampered, spoiled, and NOT ready to live an adventure with Indy. Think Paris Hilton. BUT... she does have character growth thru the film, saves Indy and Shorty in the spike room, and even punches out a Thuggee on the mine car. Her character is great for comic relief, and I loved it when Indy and Shorty complain about her during their poker game. She's a fun character and I'll defend her until my dying day. Willie's like the metaphor about being an onion with layers. Most people just never get past the first layer...

My girlfriend loves elephants as well. I took her to a fair that happened to have an adult Asian elephant amd you could ride it. Wow, what a feeling to be on the back of one of them. You feel like nothing can touch you. If you ever have the opportunity it's well worth it

Temple of Doom was rated PG as there was only 4 ratings available... There was such a backlash from parents about this movie(among many others) that MPAA created the PG13 rating and the first movie to get that rating was Red Dawn.😊

As with all Indiana Jones films, it's a series of far-fetched constructions. As in the first part, the thing with the submarine and various other little stories, here too a pointless action to get into the actual story. Escape by plane... Why do the Chinese evil man's two assistants drain the fuel and then jump off the board with a parachute? The whole operation is so crazy and no one notices it... The guy who put in a lot of effort and money to acquire the stuff from the first emperor crashes his own plane, which cost a lot of money at the time . The two pilots, who are aware of how risky a jump is, jump over an icy high mountain and then have to fight their way back to civilization, however many days. They could have simply shot the three passengers while they were sleeping and thrown the bodies overboard. Popcorn cinema at it's worst...!

In Willie's defence, her first encounter with Indy was when he grabbed her as a hostage/shield sticking a fork in her side. And this hellish trip wasn't her choice. She's a city girl dragged though the jungle and bug infested caves. Sure, she's spoiled and annoying, but I wouldn't like being in her shoes.

If you thought Kate was horrid as Willie you should see her character in Space Camp. Willie is a sweetheart in comparison. Willie I kind of liked as a teen but less so now. Every reaction I have seen, not one woman likes Willie. I can't image what reactors would think of the female character in the final Indy movie. I dare say Willie would not seem as bad...

Agreed! The combination of Willie and the gross outs ruin this movie for me. The dinner gross out scene in particular distracts you from important dialog so that the scene is far superior if you close your eyes and focus on listening to Indy's conversation. The bug/booby-trap gross out scene is just padding and adds nothing to the movie. As for Willie and her "comic relief" it is poorly placed and overused. Comic relief exists to reset tension so it can rise again. Willie is just obnoxious and notably the movie improves immensely when she is sidelined. Frankly she's on par with Jar Jar Binks for bad comic relief character.

While Kate was definitely annoying as hell. I blame it on the way her character was written. This is the worse one in the series but I haven’t seen the dial of destiny so that being said. This one was just too much. Short Round was annoying also.

1. Many folks don't care for this one very much but I do. It's all kinds of fun. 2. Just a small suspension of belief regarding the lifeboat drop out of the plane, and the coal car landing perfectly on the tracks. 3. IRL Ford could fly that plane. 4. When I was in the US Navy I got to eat monkey (but not monkey brains) and tasted dog in the Philippines. 5, Shortround is "Billy Badass" 6. Disneyland already has a "Temple of the Lost Ark" so another one of the ride through the tunnel/mine would be cool too. Assuming you can still afford it.🙄 7. The guy that gets crushed is the same actor that played the guy that gets wacked by the propellor in "Raiders of the lost ark". 8. Kate Capshaw got the Willie gig because she was dating and later became Spielberg's wife.

She tries.. she pulls a knife on belloq .. and she is not just a damsel in distress until the snakes… I’ll give ya that.. she also shoots nazis in the turret of plane.. she helps

@@tarasneverseen 'She tries' Yeah, Marion gets the participation award I guess... She shoots wildly while *trapped in the turret and has to be freed before the plane blows up because she shot the fuel truck... she managed to capture herself that time 🙃 At least Willie grabs the antidote and saves Indy's life.

Yes i have an undercut. Half of my head is shaved. I’ve had that for years. It’s visible when I pull my hair up or when I decide to chop it all off into a pixie cut

I've always wanted to slap Short Round...like, REALLY hard. Squeaky little imp. That actor is the sole reason I've never watched, nor will I EVER watch, The Goonies. He made Temple of Doom THAT unbearable for me. Willie was at least pleasant to look at.

Y'all are talking about Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan. Now granted, as a kid he was fairly annoying. However he _earned_ his Academy Award for _Everything Everywhere all at Once._ He needs more good solid dramatic parts.

Agreed. He wasn't quite as annoying as Willie, but still annoying. "Hey, let's put in a cute kid so that audiences will say, 'Hey, a cute kid!' and maybe they'll be distracted from all the other parts of this movie that suck." And if you have to keep telling the audience, "Very funny," then it's not very funny.

Willie is a different type of woman as comparison to today's female. A lot of women have adopted a "masculine" attitude so of course Willie would be annoying cause she was feminine & dainty
