Oh, he was getting there though. The angry growling that was starting up with the of comb was terrifying, having been literally maimed by a cat. That's the danger sound. (I still love cats, btw. They're the best, but those bites are devastating, lol.) Clover was a good boy, though, and I am sure he'll get used to grooming quickly if that was his reaction to a bath and blow dryer. So mild!

@@Prizzlesticks I have been Blind-Sided, and then punched, by a cat! Hopefully, it is no longer done, but he had just been declawed.

@@QUICKBOOKS1declawing cats is slowly loosing its popularity, thank god, but at least in the US from my understanding it is still done. Where I’m from it’s illegal and considered animal cruelty because of its physiological and psychological affect on cats.

This is the first time I've had an all black short hair boy. We call him 'Batman' and he is bigger than our black and white 'panda' pomeranian, Callie, who he tolerates trying to maul him.

Some black cats have those intense and disconcerting yellow eyes; this cat’s are an attractive shade that’s not so alarming. My first cat was black with pale green eyes, but intense sunlight revealed her nominally black coat to be tabby. Very attractive and pleasant cat, whether really black or not.

So are black men.

I know you're probably just joking, but for the record: it is very possible to train a cat to go into a carrier if you get them to associate treats with carriers at a young age. It's a good idea for all cat owners to give their cats positive associations with carriers, that way it will be easier to get their cats in the carrier quickly in the event of an emergency (such as a house fire).

@@Gardimuer , well, I wasn't joking. It really does make me laugh because cats have so much personality. But, you're absolutely correct that animals need to be trained. I did the same when I had to fly with my dog from JFK in NYC to Phoenix Arizona 🌵. I put her bed in the crate and put the crate in her bed's spot. I had her go in and out several times. Then at bedtime put her in, but left the door open for about 3 weeks before the flight. She was really good (at least I think so) because every time I woke up, she was in her crate. Then I started shutting the door at night (along with her favorite toy). By flight time she was perfectly ready. I crate trained my Rottweiler puppy because when he napped (like with all babies) I got caught up with chores and I wanted to know where he was at all times. Every once in a while I'd find him in there getting some alone time. But dogs are easier because they like dens. My cat was trained. He knew he wasn't supposed to be on the kitchen counter. So if I heard him up there, one call from the other room and he'd get down. He came when called because it usually meant food. Maybe he was easier because he grew up with two big dogs that listened. IDK 💖🌞🌵😷

They do know. My cat hates to be filmed, for some reason. If I hold my phone in front of me as if I was filming him, he just leaves. If I hold the phone normally, like I'm using it to read or write a text, he just doesn't care.

I've just been calling grabbing them there "scruffing."

This also works on big cats, but it's harder to do because people are a lot smaller than lions. It's a reflex cats have from when they're kittens so their moms can pick them up.

@@artfquinn Well, maybe it wasn't the videos that convinced her :-) but with a lot of patience and snacks she understood that the comb could help to get rid of all the loose hair. She seems to understand it's way easier for the comb than her tongue to fix her pelt. And she also enjoys the comb scratching her skin.

It's the same breed as Scottish Folds. It's actually a mutation, not a breed. About 50% of any Fold litter will be straights.

They have to breed folds with straights to keep the folds alive. If they just stopped breeding the existing folds, the mutation would naturally decrease.
