I wrote this many years ago. (Single mother of a 12yo boy, with sole custody.) My thoughts as a single mother, I see pictures on social media a lot saying, 'Proud Single Mom!' This really bothers me. I am not PROUD to be a single mother. I do not take PRIDE in the fact that my child has no relationship with his father or daily positive male role model. I am not PROUD of picking the wrong person to make a child with. Here are the things I AM proud of; I am proud that my beautiful son calls ME, mommy. I am proud that my God entrusted me with such a wonderful gift to honor, cherish, protect and above all, love. I am proud that I am able to take care of my son on my own and proud of myself for working hard and instilling good values, manners, morals and kindness into my child's every day life. I take pride in the fact that my son trusts me and my judgement. I am proud that he wants ME to kiss his boo-boo's, read him books, teach him things, etc. THOSE are some of the things I am proud of. One thing I am NOT proud of is being a single mother, because the one who hurts the most because of it is the one person I would do anything for, to avoid him feeling any pain. My son. I can teach him a lot of things but I cannot teach him how to be a man.

Deep down she's a really sweet & caring woman, but that manipulation comes out so easily for her it's detestable. You can call out the manipulation in the moment & she won't even recognize what she just did. It's tough. Our dad is a lot more reasonable & turbulent, which explains why they're still together after all these years. All of us would have a better relationship with him too if she could curb her bad behavior. Frustrating. We still love & see them both though. I'll still cry when she dies for sure. Half the things the government is doing is trying to constantly push back on our God given rights.... The government will take your children already if they see you as an unfit parent.... This happens to plenty of good parents.... Then their children are put in a way worse position. The government is actually the reason the mother thinks this way..... This lifestyle is appraised... She is doing what she is programmed to do as well as many other women... The government and state systems supported fathers being out of the home.... They would create benefits for people and incentivise (props not a word) people to break up their family's. Don't get it twisted. Licenses and involving the state more than we already have would cause more problems.... Not help or keep kids safe... They are the root of this social crisis and standard of living (broken families)

I had to learn the hard way THERE'S NO VALOR IN UNNECESSARY SUFFERING... meaning being a single mom BY CHOICE, playing both mom AND dad is nothing to be proud of! Bc it's not about you and your ego, it's about what's best for the child. When u don't want to share the credit and responsibility with someone else just bc u carried majority of the load raising the child doesn't make u a hero. I was a teen mom and unfortunately I USED to think naively like this. It was a coping mechanism after I tried to get him to be in our son's life and got rejected. So I defaulted to "I don't need a man" etc. Bc I didn't have a man and I knew he wasn't interested in being involved anyway. So my ego was hurt AND I didn't want to accept the reality that I had chosen a bad man as my son's father. Thankfully I've moved on from that mindset and found a great man to raise to my son and our other children together. I got very lucky!
@TheFaro2011
@TheFaro2011 2 года назад
Don't mix it up. There's a difference between parent alienation, separating a parent from someone who wants to be present and someone who is hurt because it's ended. These women are doing what they have to do, they've carried the burden of Parenthood, but don't mix it up with parents who only dip in when it suits their narrative.
@itsyaaveragegirl

@@TheFaro2011 What women are you talking about? if you're talking about the woman in the white she clearly said it's about her ego that she doesn't ask for help not that the dad is a bad father and the woman in purple is literally projecting. I agree there is a difference between a man leaving on his own accord and not wanting to be in his child's life and a woman alienating the father from their children. But if you fight for full custody of your children and only reduce his visitation to weekends don't be surprised that he only has them for the weekends when you wanted them full time. Women can literally choose what kind of visitation the father gets.

@@itsyaaveragegirl there is another video on this channel about how a woman wanted to have a child and raise them alone. She wanted a man's seed only, she claimed that she wants to be a single mother. Wanting to be a single mother and becoming one is different. I believe she even went as far as saying she wouldn't accept help from her family members to be father figures. She was dead set on being a single mother.
@itsyaaveragegirl
@itsyaaveragegirl 2 года назад
@@lightkira4119 I watched that video too. I think sometimes as black people, well black women especially we champion struggle when there is no need. To be honest, if people stopped having children before marriage and took time to decern who is a good partner then being a single mother wouldn't be something so common. Accountability is on both sides, men should be wrapping it up, and as a woman, you should be more careful who you allow in your womb. Now women will come out of the woodwork talking about men change when you have a baby when the truth is he had red flags the whole time and they chose to ignore it. So if the father is in the child's life but not with you, you are not a single mother you are co-parenting. A single mother is literally a woman who is raising her children without the father at all, and this isn't the case for the women in white here.

@@houseofhas9355 I can't answer for women on the whole. There are many factors that lead me to develop my assertiveness. A lot of these issues we're placing on people or groups of people (men/women) are a systemic, societal issues. Humans evolved to live in communities. A child was raised by the entire village - not a single family unit. In a village you have multiple fail safes and safety nets to catch a child. You had multiple adults with regulated nervous systems to help guide the child's development. If parents were "busy" or ill equipped the rest of the members of the community could step in. We do not live in structures that are conducive to raising healthy humans - man or woman. These close knit groups kept every member accountable. I don't see the point in blaming men or women - we collectively have a responsibility towards one another. How do we go about creating that instead of shifting blame back and forth? How do we heal our trauma and guide the future generation in a healthy way? Thoughts of ending herself. With one attempt. She did so much damage to her in such a short amount of time and now I have to deal with her misbehavior. Now since my niece has been back I have not had ANY issue with misbehavior. Single mothers are a not good people.

I think you mean to say that single mothers can be shitty because you can’t deny the fact that there are single mothers out here who are single mothers because they themselves have gotten out of abusive relationships in order to protect their children or their significant other has died.

@@lostmoon7040 nope I know a few and the things that happened to their kids is not something I can say here in RU-vid. Think what’s the “best” kind of life a single mother can provide? Unless you make over $70k providing for a kid and keeping them safe it’s just not possible. There is a video of a ex feminist explaining that both men and women are perpetrators of violence at home at almost the same rate. So the whole it’s mens fault theory just doesn’t work.

@@excelself Never said it was mens faults but there are many single mothers who try their best and don’t hurt their children.

@@lostmoon7040 I’m sure you met hundreds who meet those standards. However ALL and I mean ALL the single mothers I have met are not good people. Drinking. Partying. Smoking. Etc etc. it’s almost like they don’t care about their kids. Just recently a single mother with 5 kids got together with an Excon right out of jail… what do you think will happen to her 3 daughters? Think about it.

My children's mother chose to sleep in her car with my children for months instead of calling me. I was never abusive, controlling or toxic to her or my children. I just chose not to be with her because she was all of those things. Oh yeah, she also left the state and refused to tell me where they were.

I’m so sad to read this. I can never imagine hurting my baby and keep him from his dad. I love seeing their bond and it brings me back to peace even if I am upset or mad about something that was said. (Nothing serious).

@@krissysherrell6625 It's beyond sad. These mothers are choosing to cripple their children's development because they want to punish the father.

That's straight up neglect and abuse on her part. I'm sorry that you and the children went through/going through this, sir, please fight for full custody.

I’ve been a social worker for 22 years, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across women who lie on the father’s of their children. They lie about receiving financial support, they lie about the father’s effort of see their children, they lie about abuse and neglect from the father, when in fact most of the time children are neglected and abused by the mother. It’s insane how many women put their petty grudges ahead of the safety, mental, physical and emotional stability of the child. It’s ridiculous. In a lot of the cases, I’ve seen, single fathers provide the more stable environment for the children. There’s a reason why the majority of criminals were raised by single mothers.

A lot of people will pass by your comment and not think anything of it. Or they will think your "full of it", but I've seen first hand. Most of the single mothers I know can't really raise their kids properly. Sure they can feed them, get them to school and other regular things, but being an actual parent and not just the "cool mom" is somewhat beyond most women's abilities. The whole "mothers are overwhelmingly better parents" narrative needs to stop because it's simply not true.

I’m curious, what can men in that situation do? The family court system usually values women more, how can men prove themselves? It’s crazy how the system just sucks.
@MikeMike-jo5ie
@MikeMike-jo5ie 2 года назад
The system is broken and the bias against fathers, but it is slowly changing, just not fast enough. Most of the time it seems single fathers provide better environments for children, than single mothers. I’ve seen so many situations where an abusive, neglectful, mother with little to no income, will get primary custody of the child, even though the father has more financial security and stability. A lot of women may not like this, but majority of the time the fathers make better parents. Children under single fathers are more likely to graduate high school, seek higher education, less likely to have encounters with law enforcement, less likely have substance abuse issues, less likely to have teen pregnancy, less likely to suffer depression, or have suicidal tendencies and less likely to end up in prison.
