Very nice Banks Dory for sure. Their simplicity is their asset. But I wonder Jeff, if you've given any consideration to designing a Swampscott Dory. A bit more involved, but they have advantages over the Banks and would round out your dory portfolio nicely. I personally would love a 16-17 foot swampscott for rowing.

Very nice build Ian. I had a banks dory I rowed down here in SE Alaska for many years... a design by Sam Devlin. Jeff's version is a beauty and you did a great job with it. Love the name too ;-)

sorry for the inconvenience, since I can no longer ask Jeff Spira for the plans of this splendid boat, someone could help me get them, perhaps with metric measurements, I'm Italian.

Is it possible to put an ob well (2-5hp intended for hull speeds and not planing & maybe battery charging) into your design, perhaps just in front of the stern most reach of the main rowing position so as not to interfere with rowing from that point... Would it need to be offset from the center/keelson would that asymmetry be too great (other than the minor shift in center of gravity that could easily be offset with ballast)?
