We went to the Interclass Classic Car Show at the Three Counties Showground and it was BRILLIANT. Here's what we found... #news #classiccars #carshow #walkaround #chat
Geoff and Ian .....an education and a pleasure. Keep stroking my fragile ego, i can but love it! Wow those cars BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for the vlog mr Philipe Flop. Brilliant as always😂😂😂❤😂😂😂❤
I was at Brands Hatch this weekend and there were some great classic cars being used properly. Ford Anglias racing Hillman Imps, and other crazy stuff.
We have a local car club/show called Storrington And District Classic And Sportscar Enthusiasts - or SADCASE for short. Great, they are, and on one of their shows, they had a Rover 75 with a six+litre V8 engine, and rear wheel drive, which was made by Rovers. They only made some 120 or so, but hey, what a car! I am very unsure about the numbers, and they were being built when Rover production was stopped. I reckon it would be a world-beater today. Thanks for great entertaining videos. I.M.
On a recommendation from Geoff, I contacted Ian and his insurance people and they rustled me up a multi vehicle insurance policy. To insure a classic 911 & two 47 year old motorcycles was around £500 a year fully comp with multiple recoveries to my home if I ever have any problems. Nice people you can actually pick up the phone to speak to, as well. A rare thing these days. Cheers Geoff! Ps: my dad, who unfortunately i didn’t get on with, loved cars and especially unusual cars and cars with big engines. As a kid, I remember him having a big Healey, an MGB GT (mums runabout), a BRG TVR Tuscan V8 with a fibreglass body, a Jaguar 420G in two tone light blue over darker blue and leather to die for, plus walnut picnic tables behind the front seats.there were loads more. Dad never had less than five cars at any time. Oh, also an Isetta bubble car. I remember being taken to primary school in one of those, and with a bloody great Alsatian with me and my big sister, mum driving.
Thanks for this Geoff. I would have been there with the Jag Enthusiasts Club except that for some reason I only found out about it yesterday (Saturday). Shame we missed it. Hope to see you there next year.
Looked like a good show - how much was it to get it - just to give us an idea? The difference might also be in the style of video & the music, much of which drives me bonkers! Have a good week & thanks for taking us along, Nice day out. Whilst you still can!
IIRC the E-type had a claimed top speed of 150 mph, but wouldn't quite do it, unless it had a stick-on number plate. Probably just a 'sixties legend (or myth) . As they say on Bangers & Cash, "nobody NEEDS an E-type - just everybody WANTS an E-type. So true.
Lee brought me here. You mentioned about all the hate he gets. Unfortunately IMHO he brings it on himself. Find me 1 of his videos where he doesn't whinge about something. Whether it's food, travel or EV's. I will leave it at that for now Geoff but there's so much more can be said😂😂🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘🪃🪃🪃 Enjoyed this video. A lot of nice old cars.
AT 24:40 You Walked past a RANGE ROVER "PIG" original spec 2 door series 1 , called the pig because the engines 3.5 V8 was detuned to run on piss petrol. I bought mine s/hand back in 1978 for £1250, you could fill em up for £18.oo,road tax £25.oo,insurance was £70 TP/F/Theft ,but no pinched en then.
Hmm. Perhaps I'd better do something with the two MGF's I have ....before the metal maggots take full control........Need to learn Hydrogas servicing.. "bigly"..Good that.
924s are really not that interesting. 928s and 944s on the other hand are VERY interesting, nice, and serious cars. And I don’t like Porsches. And I famously, even heroically DISLIKE 911s. I regard them the same way I regard Rolex watches and Harleys. They all attract the same type of fashion victims who appear to allow themselves to be easily influenced by trends, rather than think for themselves. There are of course better watches than Rolex, and better watches for less money: Seiko and JLC. There are FAR better bikes than Harleys: ie: almost every other marque that isn’t Chinese. And the same applies to sports cars. 911s are dubbed ‘iconic’, yet they’re just expensive VW Beatles with 6 cylinders hanging out of their ahhr$€$ instead of 4. He did the right thing taking the money. Peace 🏴

@@GT380man Yes. They’re very very well made. But the entire design concept is fundamentally flawed. Everything is a compromise to the overall 911 body shape aesthetic. EVERYTHING. In that respect 911s have not evolved beyond Porsche’s original peoples car concept.
