So I just looked up Ian McDiarmid's age. So holy crap...he's only 78. That means he was just 38 years old when he played Emperor Palpatine in ROTJ?!??? Mind boggling
@@mikeyates7931 I thought that was a monkey or something? Was it a David Prowse-Darth Vader situation where the body was played by one person and the voice by another?
"The effect of the Sequel Trilogy has left the strength of my character scarred, and deformed, but I assure you... my resolve has never been stronger!"
If lan McDiarmid in his 30's can play Emperor Palpatine in his 80's then be in his 50's to play Emperor Palpatine in his 50's then be in his 70's to play Emperor Palpatine in his 120's then you can be whatever age you are and play yourself like you’re 30 years younger. 🫵
Well I mean Palpatines power comes from the force which is made up from energy in living things so technically force lighting or any force power is renewable or biodegradable as you can replant trees to create life so palpatine could power a generator connected to a power station
@The RaeSide When did GL name the emperor, "Sheev"? An EU/fan fiction isn't canon and all I can find is the name originating from EU/fan fiction, not from actual Star Wars canon written by GL.
@@flinten7485 he created the name Sheev as a nod to a character in a Spielberg movie (his best bud) it came straight from him. You are right it was first mentioned in the novelisation of ANH, but GL did chose that name and wrote it in for the other creative authors to use. Then also using the officially using the name in the prequels too, again from him.
