Apparently the Finns who volunteered/RO'd shot the day before and went full Finnish sauna style, the foreign competitors were allowed some coverage for culture and camera reasons I think... I guess Ian figured when in Finland act Finnish! 😆

I did a decade in the US Army hiding my Asthma and a single 5k in kit used to wreck me even when I was at my best. Mad props to Ziga, that was incredible effort and he did really well on the stages with the rifle he had. Good shit.

The first time we competed together I was all set to dismiss him as just another poser Instagram gunny - only to discover he's a hell of a good guy and a damned good shooter to boot.

GT was invited and was rumoured to come so we all prepared for the recon competition, but then he cancelled in the last moment. We wanted to invite Brandon to Lynx Brutality but he isn't that interested in shooting competitions

Well... Have you ever ran in lockstep (english dictionary tells me that should be the word) in a group? I was never a good runner, often had breathing problems when running, and we too got told that running your own tempo is best. Didn't help me. And then during service we had a Lt. who was keen on "lockstep" (or is it in-step?) running. ->for the whole platoon inlcuding singing while running. Imagine those scenes of movies like Full metal Jacket where they run and sing stupid stuff. the things he made us sing were stupid too, but that was a minor problem. When he told us that we would do that, i expected to get destroyed completely but to my suprise the opposite happened. I had no breathing problems at all. The cadence and the singing actually made me breath correct. (Something i was never able to replicate on my own.)

No... that was my consistent pft time in the marines... with no kit. Mad props for doing that in full kit.

And highlights the need for practicing how to quickly put on AND quickly take off your plate carrier (he did another one where he dropped into a pool to simulate falling into a lake or pond). Nothing but respect to Ziga for not just putting that clip of anxiety, but putting it right at the beginning.

Thank you The best thing that came from this competition is that i now try to run regularly to improve my form and endurance

Cardio everyday makes you live healthier

@@murphy7801 For weightloss and cardiovascular health my dad and I do 5 hours worth of cardio a day, I am gonna start doing some in my gear to see how it feels and stuff

I am unable to compete because my mag pouches are molle-ed to my couch .... and my taco mag pouches contain tacos.

I know for certain, with 100% confidence, that with my extreme training, experience, and razor-honed fitness... if I ran even half this event I would f***ing die. 💀

Yeah, asthma can be bad. People can actually die from a severe asthma attack if they don't get meds. When i was younger i thought about this and it scared me because you can't always have meds on hand everywhere you go. So 15 years ago i started training and trying to push my limit by not taking any meds for as long as i could endure. This helped me a lot because now i can use my chest muscles to breathe and force air into my lungs even when they close up. It's not much but enough to survive and keep me conscious without medication. It sucks - feels like suffocating and raises your heartrate over the top but can also be good anaerobic training :D

Asthma is the worst. Your body is seizing up and choking you right when you need the most oxygen. I've had asthma attacks from laughing too hard.

@@PolenarTactical I'm also allergic to cats. I loaded up on antihistamines, decongestants and anti-asthma inhalers to adopt mine until my body acclimated. The pain is worth it for a bundle of cuteness.
