The IAR-330 has a payload capacity of 1,000 kg. The IAR 330 Puma incorporates an all-metal semi-monocoque fuselage. The IAR-330 is powered by two TURMO IV B turboshaft engines. Romania's IAR-330 helicopter is capable of carrying weapons. The IAR-330 SOCAT is a powerful upgrade, developed in partnership with Israel's Elbit Systems.

If you think about it, helicopter design really doesn't change that much since the 50's. Chopper like Huey, Chinook etc still fly and produce with plenty improvements. Even South Korean new transport helicopter are based on Puma 😂

using a bird that size as an anti tank platform is asinine in the extreme!!! they might as well blow it up themselves and not lose the crew!!

and hinds were shot down by the dozens in Angola during the war there!! at least the ones that didn't chop their own tail rotors off when they turned too tight!! the hind may have been the concept for it in part it sure as hell doesn't play role one in the south african design! the south african one which i'm blanking on the name for for some reason is clearly taken from US and European designs like the Apache the Mangusta the Eurocopter even the old cobra can be seen in it! i don't see a speck of hind in it's design!

They are still used as utility helicopters simultanously with carrying anti tank missions, but remember that the apache for instance is around 20 meters in size, so it.s big as well. The army.s doctrine is seeing this helucopter.s atack capabilities rather a bonus than a specialised machine.
