I doubled checked the 605E and the 1305SB and in my opionion the higher price is worth every cent. The SR1305 I checked had a tight and great sounding B-String and sounded very I would say "round". The SR605E looses a little bit of power and clearity. The SR1305 looks gorgeous in reality. I saw it and thought "This is not the bass on the photos" - the "zebra" is violet fading to white, when you change the angle you look at it. Really great. Waiting for the SR5FMDX to compare. One of these two will move in and I think, they will be good friends - the BTB and the SR Premium. 😀

Are you going to do a bass demo where you play the bottom strings without slapping? Those pickups can do a lot more. They have the lows of a humbucker with the highs of a single coil. Slap and twiddling about on the top strings are more like you showing off your playing than showing off the bass you want us to buy.

Exactly! Try finding pickup demos where someone ISN'T SLAPPING. Slapping sounds pretty dang similar to my ears. I hate it. Throw some distortion in there. I wanna hear how hot the pickups get, how the lows/mids are, etc.

Why is it so difficult to find out what the damn switches do ? One seems to be a mid switch but seriously can anyone explain

The Switch under the second vertical knob is an active/passive switch. The switch to the right of that is the 3 position mid toggle(250hz/450hz/700hz). :-)

What's the difference between the big break and big split pickups

I read on the Talkbass forums that the Big Break was probably made to make the 5-string version more even-coiled especially with trying to eliminate hum.

Breaks are made by a third party for Ibanez only and have the two coils staggered slightly. Splits are made by Nordstrand for selling to anyone and are inline. I can't find out anything more.
