Really excellent demo of the different tone combinations - a HUGE thank you for frequently mixing in the flat/active for reference!. One of the best instrument demos I've seen.
I became an Ibanez man thru and thru 9 months ago. My GWB205 has a neck to die for and I’m currently deciding on a Ibanez fretted 5 string. This is the most gorgeous Ibanez I’ve seen, but with all those tonal variations, it always keeps the same personality. I don’t know, I guess i’ld have to hear/play it in person.
Excellent demo Ivan! I always thought it looked amazing but your demo shows that it is also a great-sounding bass. Being a lefty I was only drooling over pictures and videos until they announce that they will be releasing it in left-handed this year. So I will be getting my hands on one pretty soon I think.
I am looking at this for my first bass as well. Might as well get a really nice one if you can swing it. I was looking at the srms805 as well but I heard there were some quality control issues. It also has a plastic nut as well where this one has a Tusq nut
Hi please can you help about the preamp. Of this bass?... Please can you check the preamp board... This have two outputs one say BEQ3 and the other say VM3... I need to know what is the correct or how this come from factory??... Thank you
Hi Ronald, thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I don’t have the bass with me anymore. Ibanez Germany sent me the bass for testing purposes and it was sent back afterwards
I’m debating whether to buy this in a four string or the Spector NS Dimension 4. I returned the Ibanez 1005ms because I thought a fiver would be fine, but I can’t get used to it and it throws me off. If I kept it it would just hang there. I like the multi-scale. Leaning more towards the Spector.
@@luiso.guitarS2106 I’m more of a passive bass kinda guy, so i’d vote J-Bass. You can add the nordstrand pickups at some point if you don’t mind routing the body
Bartosz Jankowski I usually record two tracks: 1) direct into my Neve RNDIz 2) Direct into my Mesa WD-800 set to post EQ but with everything flat and then decided which one i like better
I'm not sure there is one answer for ya. There are lots of em. IF you have a decent I-Phone with alot of features you could use your camera feature. Also, music stores sell cheaper recorders these days . Years ago you couldn't hard get a TASCAM w/o spending a fortune. Something as simple as an old Cassette recorder would work also. Google it & see what you come up with. There's tons of recording devices out there. Check out Sweetwater. There are others besides that. Good luck buddy.
Even though I don't own an Ibanez bass, I can tell by all the settings, this bass would fit any metal band with no problem. For instance, in an upfront part of a song use the Boost Passive. & for any background part of a song use the Active Cut. You'd have to experiment w/ it. This bass has so many settings, it can play any kind of music. Country, Jazz,Rock, Metal , Orchestra. Tech-no pop. Punk. You name it. That bass would get the job done in any application.
It is a beautiful bass. I had to have humbuckers though, so I got the SR2405w in brown topaz Honestly, I am glad I went with the 2405. Love the wide string spacing. And can't beat the Aguilar Super Doubles.
@@IvanBassist 😁Hey man! I think you would dig it. I was torn as to which one to get lol. Ultimately chose the 2405 because it was around $100.00 less lmao. Yes, a cheapskate😂.
I have one of these...I love it and it’s great looking however I am about to buy Fat Stacks or Big Splits because I feel that the Big Singles are useless on their own...too much hum. Mine is strung E-C because I have two Fives (Second one is SRA555BB with Barts in it)
I bought the SR600E with Big Breaks. They're Splits with the top strings offset and are noiseless. Nordstrand himself says that Stacks are weak in humbucking mode. Get the Splits, if you haven't already.
@@IvanBassist I'm puzzled about Singles being on this one but Breaks being on SR600E. Can Singles be better in some way? Maybe there's a slight tone difference.
The big singles are made in the US User different materials as fas as I know. I haven’t had the chance to compare them side by side, but I guess there’s a difference in terms of component quality which would then affect the sound
