Hey Kenny! Last year I started following some of your advices from youtube, and my number of stools dropped from 10-15 to 3-5 semiformed. Before that I was waking up every 45-60mins to go to the toilet. I just started my Biome Optima course, and I'm following it strictly. I am dedicated to finish the course, and to heal 100%. Right now I am not in a flare, with few bowel movements a day (2-3-4). I have never tried cabbage juice, so do you think I should add that to Biome Optima routine? PS. Thanks alot for everything you are doing for us. I would have my colon removed last year if there was not your awesome channel.

That is so great to hear that you've seen such improvement! Thanks a ton for sharing that, really appreciate it. As for cabbage juice,-while I'm not a doctor or a dietician and you should not start a cabbage juice routine without getting approval from your doctor beforehand- in my personal opinion I think it can be very helpful to add that to the routine, but it's not a necessity. Also, when I first started the cabbage juice routine in 2015 I did notice an increase in symptoms the first 3 days. I know some individuals who did not respond well to the cabbage juice and also saw an increase in symptoms but they didn't subside in 3 days the way my increase in symptoms did. So, I think you should be aware of that risk and I would advise that if you do decide to try a cabbage juice routine (after talking to your doctor about it), to discontinue the cabbage juice or at least significantly decrease the volume you consume each day if you do respond badly to it or see an increase in symptoms. It's not worth gritting your teeth and just pushing through with it if it's not actually giving you any benefits. So that being said, I really just want you to be aware of what you should be cautious about with cabbage juice. If you are feeling pretty good right now then I don't think it's a necessity. If you start to plateau and you want an extra boost so to speak, then it might be worth talking to your doctor about it and then implementing the protocol. I found it very helpful, but it's a bit more of an aggressive approach and some individuals don't react the same way that I did to it- and I'm not sure why that is.

Hello. How are you doing ? Did you full healed?
@Untouched995
@Untouched995 2 года назад
@@molondon1808 Hello, i'm on 117th day of following protocol strictly. Right now I feel really good. I have 1-2 formed stools a day. There are days when I don't have bowel movement for 20-25+hours, and that's something that I could not imagine it's possible after years of having 10-15-20 bowel movements a day. My colon was devestated after 11 years of agressive UC, and I was so close to J pouch surgery, so I guess I needed a lot of time to get it back on the right place. I still have not had a 'cheat meal' (I think i could handle it easily, but I don't wanna do it because I am kinda traumatized and scared, and I don't wanna risk anything) Now, I am working out every day, playing two sports, sleeping well, my energy levels are highest I can remember. Even when I have a bad UC day, I don't have more than two bowel movements (they are just a bit less formed). I can say that I am 95% healed. I think I need another month or two so I could say I am 100% (I am still noticing improvements). To fully recover your gut microbiom it takes up to 6months, so I will continue with protocol for another two months, or even longer (I'm thinking about one year). If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me

I've been cooking Paleo foods for my whole family and avoid giving my son foods that we know bother his gut. He is also taking a probiotic, vit C& D, Omega 3's and Iron(he had a blood transfusion and was anemic, his #'s just came back normal for iron). I also started giving him keifer recently and he really likes it! Not too confident I could get him to drink cabbage juice though. His inflammation markers went from over 1000 to the 70's! Hi Kenny! Long time follower. Thanks for posting so much good content. Something im not noticing as emphasized in your videos that is essential for healing, is supplements for intestinal integrity. I was following a high fiber/ fermented food diet for a while but still had sensitivity and mild flare ups. L- glutamine, collagen, and bovine colostrum all are super healing to tame mucosal damage and rebuild epithelial cells, and its hard to get adequate amounts of these when eating mostly vegetarian. I add these to my smoothies and wanted to share for those who may benefit from these. Also, bone broth is tremendously healing during a flare and has similar healing properties as those supplements. Keep up with the good content!

Hey Kenny love and appreciate your work ! Wondering your thoughts on a diet like keto and if have done any research about it in relationship to ibd aswell as auto immune disease in general ? I followed it for 2 years and had 0 ibd symptoms and there’s tons of stories on Reddit and Twitter of people with similar experiences . Idk if it’s the gut bacteria changing or the state of ketosis lowering the bodies inflammation but it’s a great way of eating for auto immune conditions I feel ! Anyways I would love your thoughts if you know anything about it too if not then no worries ! Cheers

Hi all, I was diagnosed with UC over 10 years ago and while still living with the symptoms, have got to the point where I am feeling the best (in my opinion) mentally and physically in those years. I've never been in contact with or heard of anyone who lives with UC in my city and would really like to hear from people and help (where I can) in the community. It's a horrible disease and sharing experiences and knowledge it would be a great way for people to start accepting and feeling comfortable while living with UC:

Thank you! Yeah if zucchini is not available then I would choose some other starchy foods like potatoes (sweet and regular), squash (if available), carrots, white rice is pretty good in my opinion as well (though it has minimal levels of prebiotics). Zucchini really doesn't have to be a focal point. The focal points for prebiotics in my opinion are just foods that have good amounts of soluble fiber. So mainly fruits and tubers/root vegetables. Hope that helps. My Biome Optima course has a whole updated list of what I consider to be "approved foods" or you can look through the boot camp episodes to get them as well. Hope that helps!

@team_honnas
@team_honnas 2 года назад
I discontinued all medication in the summer of 2015. I didn't start working on the gut microbiome optimizing protocol until August of 2016. I don't recommend anyone else discontinue their medication the way I did. I recommend that you work closely with your doctor and take medication as prescribed, and consider discussing how to implement a gut microbiome optimizing diet with your doctor as well. I think it's important to work closely with your doctor so that you can safely use both medication and nutrition to decrease the symptoms while working to correct the dysbiotic gut microbiome- which is what I understand to be the cause of IBD.

I think the answer to that question is yes, in my non-medical opinion. Definitely a good idea to double check with your doctor and get their approval beforehand. In my personal experience, high quality whey protein, creatine, and BCAAs have been fine for me. I prefer essential amino acids (EAAs) rather than just the BCAAs. One of my favorite supplement companies is Kion, and here are some great sources for the supplements you asked about: Whey protein: getkion.com/products/clean-protein Creatine: getkion.com/products/creatine EAAs: getkion.com/products/aminos-powder?_pos=2&_sid=fcd2a210b&_ss=r Good article on EAAs vs. BCAAs by Kion here: getkion.com/blogs/all/eaas-vs-bcaas?kion2227_mqcoeg=6466585160.79127197162.379692643617.g&oexgads=kion2227&keyword=&matchtype=&network=g&device=c&ad_id=379692643617&gclid=CjwKCAiAo4OQBhBBEiwA5KWu_x-8JxnO0IaIET47hysXvbB86wCdyRcnQ7_JgWlrpXDVELxD4b8NThoCmmkQAvD_BwE. @omarruder4129
@omarruder4129 2 года назад
I would really not dare to give you any advice, as for me it’s been a roller coaster aswell. I tried the Specific Carbohydrate Diet which gave immediate results, literally the day after. But after following it for a while, it looked like symptoms returned anyways. Now I’ve been eating pretty shitty, and drinking beer (but also kefir), and my poop is really well formed, with low amount of gas, little blood on my poop and no mucus. So a little sum up, my diet definitely has influence on my symptoms, but I haven’t figured out yet what the relation is and which foods I can have and which I can’t. I’m honestly probably going to start medication to get rid of the inflammation, and from there on I want to look at optimising my diet (70% of my diet being good foods, and the remainder whatever I want). The reason I am probably going to start medication is because I fail to be consistent and dedicated enough to heal it all through the natural path, as it requires a lot of willpower. So the medication will hopefully be my ‘insurance’ and fundament sort of

Hey what’s your thoughts on the probiotic VSL# 3 ?
@team_honnas
@team_honnas 2 года назад
I personally like visbiome, which is the original VSL#3 formulation. There was some sort of company split that ended up changing the VSL#3 formula, and then visbiome was created by whoever owned the rights to the original VSL#3 formulation. Weird history, but you can read more about it here: www.visbiome.com/pages/vsl-3-story/?gclid=CjwKCAiAo4OQBhBBEiwA5KWu_-wzcmDlfY_8sMINlRx8L1_LnjQuFNG0-gyoJKGP_1_-95lV68W7sxoC9RkQAvD_BwE. Some people have reported that visbiome doesn't work as good for them as the original VSL#3 did before the big split happened, but others have seen good results with visbiome. I haven't taken the new VSL#3 that is now using a different formula from the original VSL#3, so I'm really not sure from an anecdotal standpoint of how it stacks up with visbiome.
