Why are fans suddenly being racist? People always complains that shows need more diversity but yet when there is, they whine how they hate that shows randomly have unnecessary diversity. They’re only mad because Jennette McCurdy doesn’t want to be involved with the revival.

First of all Sam is not getting replaced she just doesn’t want to be in the reboot because of the way they treated her on the original iCarly so now Laci Mosley is going to be Carly’s new best friend and now she’s defending herself because of how she’s getting treated even though the show never started yet it’s not even June yet

Racist comments over a Nickelodeon show we all watched when we were young and didn’t even know what the word racist meant lmao. I used to watch Icarly when I was like 8 now I’m turning 18. Yeah Jeannette was a good actor but this reboot is a mature version of the kid show we watched cause all the kids who watched it back then are grown up now. So if “you’re ”not mature then simply don’t watch it!!

Jen has continuously tried to get away from paparazzi and drama and all the misconceptions people have made about her. Inside of bringing her back into the mix, it’s best to address the issues at hand. No one should ever have to go through so much hate and it goes to show how the show truly brings out the worst! I love the original show so much and have yet to see the reboot since I’m rewatching the original to catch up on what I don’t remember. I just hope all the drama gets handled CORRECTLY this time instead of getting out of hand and making more trauma like it did for Jen.

You just don’t pay attention to hate comments in general. Don’t take them seriously, and don’t acknowledge them. Hate for people seen as “replacements” for certain characters always happens. They will latch on to any characteristic like weight, size, gender, etc... and hate on that. It’s mostly against the producers because they don’t realize what the circumstances are. Janet is a great actress, but she has quit acting. They probably wanted her to star in this show, but she declined. I think any actress who was casted as Miranda’s co-star would have received hate either way. They’d be seen as a ‘cheap’ replacement, even though that isn’t the case so ignore the hate. You’re not going to fix it by responding. You Ignore raging toddlers and idiot bullies so they don’t feel satisfied with their actions.

You start a reboot of a show years ahead of it's time before all the actor's are ready for a return and get surprised when J. Mcurdy doesn't want to return so instead of waiting a few more years until everyone's ready, you immediately replace her character with someone else and call her "Carly's best friend" completely rulling out any possibility for Mcurdy's return as Carly's best friend in the future. So no, I don't think people are "racist" I think people are upset at the decisions made.

The reason I think some people are overreacting about this is that, directors are trying to push a message. For example, The New Army Recruitment Videos. Everyone saw it as The Army pushing a woke message, when they had no business pushing a woke message. No one wants to see it. A Black Character playing a pansexual role in the revival is not bad as long as it apporiatetly handled. However, for people tired of seeing LGBTQ+ propagandga being pushed on them. They will react quite negatively. They don't want to be forced to sit through a propaganda message. That's how they will look at it anyways. It's the same with any racial narrative. It isn't asian, mexican, black, etc, etc enough. Like directors wanting to replace Ariel who is made to be white with a black actress. It's pushing something that no one wants. A Black Woman, playing a pansexual role will obviously cause hate, even though they're overreacting to it. That is where the hostility is coming from in my opinion Sam was Carly's best friend. Lica playing Harper is Carly's new best friend. Yes, you're replacing Sam. You are filling in the role Sam left behind and therefore you're replacing Sam. If I was absent then someone would have to replace me because I'm not there.

I’m not mad that they replaced Sam with a black family, I’m mad that they decided to replace her with a character not from the show. It would’ve been better if they put Gibby or someone else in place of Sam.

It's sad to see someone who put so much work into the new show and would be undoubtfully excited about it, just for everyone to hate you because your race and because you're not Sam. I think she's really funny.
