I passed my CCS exam on 01/16/2024 with my first try (I have no coding experience at all, just graduated from a two-year program from a local community college in May of 2023). Your exam tips work!!! Thank you!

Hoang, I was born in Seattle, where I grew up. I'm taking my first try at the CPC exam this upcoming Saturday. Your "process of elimination" concepts are AWESOME. Thank you! I'm going to watch your videos on Cardiovascular and of course E/M. I HOPE that on the test I take, for anesthesia, there are questions related to calculating TIME, because I'm good at math.
Hello sir, I am a big fan of yours... I cleared my cpc exam in first attempt with good percentage... Your backward approch helped me a lott and was able to complete exam before time.. thank you very much sir.. you are a 💎.
Hi there. Thank you Mr. Nguyen for taking the time to make these videos. I take my exam in December and I have found your teaching methods and explanations more effective than the course I paid alot of money for. I liked and subscribed and will recommend your channel to others.
Thank you Mr. Hoang! I’m taking a CPC class with AAPC, and plan on taking my exam in June. I have test anxiety, but found your videos to be very helpful! Im having a hard time with operative notes, but your process is very helpful. Do you have any videos on long operative reports? If not no worries, I’ll continue watching your videos. 😀🙏🏽

I’m going to cpc exam next Sunday. And I have just seen your classes yesterday. Your classes are so good and examples as well. Thankyou for the classes
This was so informative. Great tips and examples. I can't wait to watch and learn more. I have an exam coming soon for my CRC. My main concern is interpreting and applying the ICD-10- CM guidelines. Your videos are helpful in breaking down that process and making it easy to learn. Thank you very much for these. I'm excited to watch more. Liked and Subscribed.

Hi Mubashir. Wow congratulations on passing the CPC exam on your first attempt and thank you so much for sharing this good news with me. Very well done. Good luck for more progress!
Hi Hoang since I'm still getting more familiar with the ICD 10 manual I made myself a mental note when looking up codes to look out for text written in red and I say to myself " If its Red it must be Read". Hope this can help anyone. Love your videos.
Hi Martha. That's good idea! when I make a mistake for choosing a wrong code then in the tabular list I put a note " Stop, this is not the right code, see code..." and it is how I never make the same mistake again. Thank you so much for sharing.
Me tooo.... I'm preparing my exam by month of June or early, please i need Evaluatuon management guidelines and some scenarios ...i really dont understand most questions on mock
Dear sir thank you so much for your hard work to teach us for free. Bless your golden heart. Please do more lectures about the guidelines. I read the guidelines but I feel there is always new ones I don’t know about when you introduce them. Please keep going
Hi Sae. Reviewing the coding guidelines will be my focus this year because no mater what exam you want to take, you will have to know the ICD10-CM official coding guidelines very well so stay tuned. Happy Learning!
Yes that’s a great plan. Thank you sir. I have a question. Can i write a brief summary of the guidelines in the icd10 cm book at the back where there’s some blank space? Or is it not allowed? Even though the guidelines are written in them book
I just want to say thanks for this content, you're amazing and I'm re-learning so much from this. I'm currently reviewing to refresh my knowledge and your way of teaching takes me back. Thanks again!
Hi Giselle. If you have time then you should watch them all before the exam and I strongly believe that you will pass the exam this time. I wish you the best of luck for your exam.
Thank you anh Hoàng.
Good luck em.
Thank you so much for your help. I really like this video where you're teaching us sequencing and wheather we need additional codes. Hopefully I'll pass my test in 4 months!
got 12 days of studying left before my CPC exam. I went through all the chapters in CPT now its time to brush up on ICD. I am going to focus most of my time on your videos as you seem to be thge most helpful!
Hi Rowena. Wow you PASSED the CCS exam. Congratulations on passing this exam. CCS is much harder than the CPC and this proves that you the ability and talent to become a great coder. I wish you all the best for you future coding career. Well done!
Dear Hoang sir. I want to tell you one thing! First of all I faced too much difficulty while doing the questions. After watching your each and every episode,I learnt your backword approach.i cleared my cpc exam in 1st attempt with 82%.Thank you so much sir. Your method of teaching is excellent 👌
Hi Hyun. Wow congratulations on passing the CPC exam in your 1st attempt with 82%. You should go forward with your educational journey because nothing is impossible when you believe in yourself. All you need is the right tools and a good instructor. I wish you all the best.
Thank for uploading new toturia video sir, dispite the fact that have passed my exam, have already addicted to your channel , sir i want to call your attention to question 9 & 10, in question 9 , why we don't report elevation of the patient blood sugar and in question 10, please sir cross check the right foot ulcer, it seem like L97.521 is for left .
The question clearly states that " the patient has periapical abscess which was determined, in part, to be responsible for elevation of the patient's blood sugar" and not from diabetic itself. if hyperglycemia is documented due to diabetic then you can use the combo code E10.65 for type 1 DM with hyperglycemia. I hope it helps.
Hello Mr. Hoang, please could you make a new video about the musculoskeletal system and the respiratory system?, Thank you so much, your videos tips are the great help.
Mr. Hoang Nguyen: why cannot choose C (anemia) in question 1? Since the patient was treated with chemotherapy for his/her liver cancer, that means the anemia was caused by chemotherapy; following the anemia due to chemo, we should code anemia as 1st code, then the cancer coder and adverse of chemo. Please could you clarify more about this case? Thank a lot
As a coder, you should strictly follow the ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and based on the guidelines: "When admission/encounter is for management of an anemia associated with the malignancy, and the treatment is only for anemia, the appropriate code for the malignancy is sequenced as the principal or first-listed diagnosis followed by the appropriate code for the anemia" I hope this helps.
Hi sir. Am from Banglore india thank you so much for your videos I followed your tips for case studies I got 90% in that section and today I got my results overall it's 89% thank u so much sir
Hello Mr. Hoang I'm preparing to take the CPC exam in 2023 before the end of this year. Do you have any updates for this year, or any additional information. Thanks!
Hi Hoang; on question 10: wouldn't E10.51 be more specific for the enounter instead of E10.621? Can you explain this one for me please? Thank you, love your videos keep them coming.
Hi Martha. It's simply because the debridement for ulcer is the focus of this main reason for this visit so you have to choose E10.621 as the principal diagnosis. If the visit is just for a general diabetic lab test, education and counseling then I would go with E10.51. I hope it helps.
Hello sir Following your videos since 3months,next month is my exam ! Thanks for your support 🙏🏻 Got doubt on 8th question-as per guidelines If symptoms established as final diagnosis we should have to code separately all mentioned diagnoses rt ?? Here already mentioned as diagnosis
The only time you code sign and symptom when the physician doesn't come up with a definite diagnosis. As soon as the physician reviews the lab or other diagnostic tests and confirms the sign and symptom are due to a disease or condition, then you need to follow the ICD10-CM coding guideline strictly and not to code signs and symptoms separately. I hope it helps.
Mr. Hoang, 24:31 is it right to think that the answer should not be D, since the notes said I have to use additional code Alcohol abuse hepatitis B and Hepatitis A code.
Hello Mr. Nguyen, I am retaking the CIC exam in March. Do you have any tips for how to abstract the information on the cases more efficiently? Some of the exam questions have 15 fill in the blank ICD 10 CM and ICD 10 PCS codes! Thank you in advance!
