I remember reading years about something that one of the directors proposed an idea of Ice age 6 as a “back to its roots” story what made ice age great and possibly bringing back the humans. I can’t say it would have been good, but it certainly would have been better than what we actually got.

No it didn’t. Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a garbage movie and it’s not even a concluder type of movie. Continental Drift fits more as a conclusion

@@TIGNOBB Well because the concept of these purple meteors threatening to destroy Earth and the herd stopping them with magnetism or whatever is ridiculous, plus there's a place that makes you immortal and the animals there are led by a horned llama that does yoga, and Sid gets a bland love interest, speaking of bland love interests, Peaches is engaged to this guy named Julien who comes out of nowhere and he's basically Johnny from Hotel Transylvania but in mammoth form, like, what happened to Peaches and Louis again? Also there's flying, talking Dakotaraptors who could pass off as villains in a Land Before Time sequel. XD

@@hunterolaughlin Olaf isn't that bad, I do like him, at least he has a fairly quiet voice instead of yelling everything like a certain red dragon who was flanderized in another bad sequel. But still, poor Louis! He and Peaches were meant to be but she ditches him for some Julian trash. Louis actually WAS in Collision Course, but he only made a very brief silent cameo at the party and if you look closely, the poor guy looks miserable! He's clearly attending to support Peaches but he's obviously sad because she just forgot him like that. 😭

Wait i thought most peoplw were blaming Fox for shutting down Blue Sky Studios? Cause last checked most people blamed Fox for milking the Ice Age franchise to the point where it caused any other IPs that Blue SKy tried to create to fail instantly at the box office? Shutting down Blue Sky killed the chance for another Peanuts movie, unless the Ron's Gone Wrong people hopefully pick it up. And all for this.

The movie should have been about Buck and Zee and their backstory, not the possums. Speaking of Zee, I will give the movie some credit, I'm glad that Zee doesn't exist to simply be Buck's love interest, heck, their relationship is purely platonic and they're just old friends. Seriously, the movie should have focused solely on Buck, Zee, their backstory with their old crew, anything but Crash and Eddie.

@@cintronproductions9430 I was worried she was going to be a love interest when I saw her on the poster. Also I remember in one of AniMat’s episodes of his defunct series What’s in the Box? I sent him a letter and a drawing that poked fun of the Ice Age franchise’s cliche of giving characters a love interest where I included Buck, Crash & Eddie and Roshan (the baby from the first film as an adult) each receiving girlfriends. Another major part of my concern was that if the latter was the case, my joke would be on myself. But I’m glad she’s just a friend and not a love interest. At least this latest installment is breaking from the old cliche of giving characters a love interest.

Arguably they didn’t steal their material. They brought it, and legally own it. That being said, they also bastardised it - pretty much like they did to every other property they brought. Disney are verging on artistic bankruptcy. There are so few original ideas coming from Disney. They either buy someone else’s creations and milk them for all they can get, or else just make sequels or remakes of things they already did years ago. They go around assimilating other peoples work without ever truly understanding them. It makes me grumpy.

I’d rather watch Collision Course again then ever watch the adventures of Buck wild. That’s a revelation I never thought I would have.

Ellie saying "Welcome to the Ice Age" and watching the baby mammoth play a bit in the snow will never not be wholesome. A perfect finale to an overall strong trio of films.

The third film pretty much is the finale to the franchise for as far as i'm concerned, as i haven't watched anything from Ice Age since (i do own the game based on the third film tho, anyone remember that?).

I did like the one with the pirates because the pirates had awesome designs and Gutt was both a comical and a genuinely threatening villain and Peter Dinklage did a good job voicing him, and it was nice to see Peaches grown up, but the one with the meteors was where the franchise jumped the shark, and this new "Buck Wild" one is where the franchise jumped the Megalodon! XD

I wouldn’t blame Disney. Keep in mind that they were just as affected by the pandemic as the rest of the world. If the pandemic hadn’t taken a hit at Disney economically, maybe they wouldn’t have resorted to shutting down Blue Sky Studios. Still, I am just going to avoid this not because I’m upset over Blue Sky shutting down, I got over it, but because it looks bad in both visuals and story.

To be honest, it’s not even the movies fault nor the studio who made it Never what I expect in my entire entire life that a major studio would buy out a smaller studio shut them down, one of their franchises for their own gratitude of money. I have never seen such a spit in the face to not just a franchise, but a studio as a whole together to make it happen (even the fifth disastrous film. They still deserve credit for coming together to make it happen.) in my entire natural life. Just the fact that this movie exist alone really takes me off to no end. This is honestly the worst movie I’ve ever seen in my entire life being such a spit in the face to everyone at blue sky. I really hope they don’t have another phone because these characters really deserve to just , be left to be. Good thing that someone else was able to save Nimona….

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Dinobirds, as goofy as they were, were still better villains than Orson will ever be, since they were pretty big and they could fly, they were considerably more threatening than Orson, who is absolutely pathetic in every possible way. Always always wanted this to happen. Hurts especially because I know there WERE plans for Roshan to return in Ice Age: The Meltdown (!!!!) but Blue Sky's producer for the Ice Age movies, Lori Forte, shot that idea down. I had always thought Fox was to blame for Roshan not coming back but apparently *Forte* thought it was "too predictable" when ugh, that was always the sequel I wanted to see, Roshan finding his adopted family again and what new adventures that would cause.

Rio 3 might be at least somewhat better than Buck Wild, at least animation-wise, because Buck Wild was meant to be a series that was retooled into a movie, which explains the low budget, while Rio 3 was planned to be a movie from the start, so of course the budget is gonna be at least slightly bigger. But I'm still worried AF about the story and everything else!

Except Disney at least fully owned and controlled Circle 7. These however are outsourced. Not to mention there are no purely hand drawn films out of Disney these days (hybrids at best and flash-animted drivel at worst)
