I've never seen this episode before but this scene is great, theres such a grounded nice feel to it. It's so funny how Homer acts like a child catching up to the truck, able to relate to the Ice Cream Guy and a funny little gag in there without ruining the entire scene. Reminds me of Seinfeld now that I think about.
“(Gasp) The ice cream man.” (Waves down) “HeY BuDdY yOU GoTtA lEt Me iN yOuR cAr AnD dRiVe mE To tHe NuClEaR pOwEr PlAnT-“ “T-t-take whatever you want, man, take it all!”
Well the scene does cut there, but then the ice cream man has a heart attack and dies (so Homer takes over his truck I think?). The visual gag of his fellow ice cream men filling in his grave with giant ice cream scoops was quite good, I thought. Like another commenter said, probably better than what Family Guy would've done with it, where they would've shown the entire scene of him counting change.
C'mon people, let's give our local ice cream trucks a break. This guy said that he's barely scraping by, that goes for all ice cream truck drivers in real life too. 😟🍦🍧🍨🚛
Honestly don't get the jokes. Is it that he is making change and quarters? Is it that the economy is bad and Homer just casually hands a $100 bill? Somebody explain why this is supposed to be funny please
