@Kodiak Combat Collective I musta missed that part. I kinda skipped past all the boring warmup and talking parts and just watched the technique portion. I can see how it might be useful transition if the person is fighting the kimura. Seems like maybe you can get more torque on their arm using your legs/hips with the tarikoplata. I haven’t tried it yet but think I will soon since I regularly get into that kimura position but can’t break their arm away from their body to apply the twist (unless I were to just ape strength it). I’m heading to Bangkok tomorrow and hoping to do a shit ton of training over the next month or two. Hopefully two classes a day if my body can endure it. Jiujitsu has saved me from some dark times. I need it to stay mentally/physically well.
You are right, I was wrong. It is not Baratoplata. But it's a very similar technique and if someone is interested in this technique, he should definitely check the Baratoplata DVD, with set-ups, details, etc.
