Wow. Came here for real troubleshooting. Where are the instructions for entering self diagnostic mode? Oh yeah...they were embedded in that part where you want me to call someone and hand over my wallet.
Open the left side door where the ice maker is located. on the inside left of the refrigerator are two vents. the bottom one provides the cold to the ice-maker. If this is blocked by some plastic your food is wrapped in, like a loaf of bread, the ice maker won’t cool.
Model pye22pshhss not making ice. Installed new ice maker still not working. I am getting water from water dispenser. Replaced dual water valve, Still no ice , no water in bin. Tried to defrost lines with ice buddy still no luck Used hair dryer also on reservoir. Still no luck can you help?
My bottom ice maker wasn't working. I went through all the troubleshooting steps provided, but the rake (arms) wouldn't move and just made a squeaking sound like they were trying to move. One thing that wasn't suggested, but GE support suggested on the phone, was to power off the fridge (either at the circuit breaker or unplug from the wall). I did this, and then plugged it back in, and it started working again. Also, if your bottom ice maker is not working and you can't get it working with any suggested steps. Remove the ice maker and try to troubleshoot further. It's going to be a lot cheaper to buy a replacement ice maker (and plug in a water line, and 2 power connections, and a self tapping screw) than to have someone come out to look at it, and they may not even be able to repair it depending on the situation.
Can the water level on a cafe ice maker be lowered? My ice cubes are connected by a bridge because the water level flows between cubes. As a result, the dumped cubes "bridge" in the bucket and fool the feeler into thinking it is full.
Having the same problem - Again. GE replaced the Icemaker unit in the door, the Thermister (Thermostat plug), and the door, which seemed to have a bit of ice buildup around the top left hand side (and still does with the replacement door, but not as much) Checked the left hand side vents in the refrigerator and the bottom vent is pushing some air into the freezer compartment. I have a new filter on order, but the water from the water dispenser has a steady stream. By chance, while I was waiting for the tech to arrive to replace the parts mentioned above, I filled the Ice Bucket in the door with Ice from a 5 LB bag I bought as I don't have ice trays. Wouldn't you know it, the ice maker suddenly started working again. Laying in bed and I hear the "thunk" of ice falling into the bin. Figures. I do think there is a design defect in the icemakers - i am wondering if there is a leak somewhere or the icemaker is not getting enough cold air (maybe both). I'll keep trying....
Need help with the filter for my GE GFD28GBLCTS - when the system called for the filter to be changed it was incorrectly installed and now a new filter will not go into place. Do you have a youtube video on how to take the filter area apart to fix it?
Simple enough issue, to remove front display/control panel and access the tubing and exit tunnel to clean more thoroughly, without the absurd need to access the water line behind the machine. I have found the exploded diagrams, with little useful details, and do not wish to go poking and prying around plastics unless I know I'm going to find release points or catches. Yet, NOTHING of use online, either DIY videos or GE, thanks for nothing. 4 seconds from the video's end, my exact Profile dispenser inset is shown; how hard is it to describe the various differences, and how to detach the frontplate and access the chute and tubing immediately behind, where all the gunk can be seen but not reached to clean?

my ice maker keeps overfilling the cubes and they come out attached which jams the ice dispenser. Is there no way to adjust the water level in these ice makers?
Hi, Chris. Thanks for reaching out! When ice clumps in your ice bucket, this is usually due to the ice melting in the bucket, and refusing. This can happen naturally over time, if the ice sits for too long, or if the doors are left open for too long. We recommend dumping your ice bucket if you do not use ice often or turning off your ice maker when the bucket is half full. Since day one my GE ice maker never worked. Called GE and they didn't have service tech available in our area. It's been 2 years and still no ice. What could I do?
My ice maker began having trouble since we purchased this refrigerator. GE kept telling me to change the filter - refrigerator now 2 years old and we have changed the filter 8-10 times - still no ice. We started having problems when a strange code came on the refrigerator. Tech was called - he hooked us up to his computer and cleared the code - HE ALSO SAID THAT THE CODE THAT WAS SHOWING UP DID NOT EXIST!! FIRST OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS REFRIGERATOR. Last time their tech came he stated that their was a problem with this model and to contact GE directly to see if they would send a replacement door as their was a big problem with this model. GE was able to send me a replacement door after a few months of going back and forth. Waiting for GE to send repairman to change the door -(AT MY EXPENSE as they would not wave this fee even though we paid for the service call and the tech only said to call GE regarding a replacement) lets see if this will give me any ice. I would not recommend anything from GE. They do not stand behind their products.
@@lesleymontelbano1675 oh boy I just purchased the profile series hooked up my water line it worked just fine then just stopped, this is absoutly ridiculous 1 week old and having issues. Guess I'm gonna have to call famous tate, cause I dam sure will and should not have to pay for service on a brand new 1 week old frig.
GE french door fridge Endora model I believe water and ice dispenser stopped working and freezer light quit coming on all at the same time. Water works to make ice checked that out When I use the dispenser the lights on the dispenser come on like they always did but nothing works usually herd the solenoid click for the water but it doesn’t do that any more any ideas. Ice maker auger doesn’t make a sound either

The food is freezing in the fresh food part of the refrigerator. It is set on 39°F fresh food area & freezer 0°. I have a GE PYE22PSHFSS. Also it is not producing enough ice.

i lost the ice maker option in setting display after i turned off the ice maker in control panel. how can in get it back? because i can not turn back on the ice maker...
Here is a challenge for anyone brave enough to guess the problem. Bought a new GE fridge and within a month after the warranty ran out, the ice maker quit working. Now here is the challenge: (1) I can put water into the tray manually (2) The water will freeze and dump the ice perfectly (3) The water automatically fills the tray again as expected (4) the water freezes as expected, BUT NEVER DUMPS AGAIN (5) the ice in the tray finally melts (6) after about 24 hours the tray is dry and the maker never works again until I manually fill the tray again. I cannot find a way to RESET the thing either. Lousy design - MADE IN CHINA.

I was told it would be about $150 for a service call, and to repair it would be parts and labor, so I expected it would cost me about $500 to get another ice maker installed that might last 1 more year. No thanks. I won't purchase another GE product in my lifetime as my new microwave GE profile surround kit doesn't fit well and my GE profile fridge is fine except no icemaker now. And I have no idea what good the wifi on the thing does. I can't find an app to make it do anything except connect to it. Worthless IMO. I paid a lot for DW, Microwave, and new fridge and truly disappointed. The icemaker is FD 11017 and the fridge is PVD28BYNFS. As much as I paid for that stuff, GE should give me a new icemaker. The Samsung my wife made me sell worked much better - never an issue.

My ice maker quit working. The last bit of ice it produced melted in the ice bin. I checked temps and the freezer is at 0F and the fridge is 37F however, the ice machine is at 60F. My assumption is the fan that feeds cold air to the ice maker quit working? Did anyone else have this issue and/or fix?
My ice maker is jammed but I cannot pull the bucket out because it is frozen in place. I have tried multiple times over the past month but it will not budge. How can I safely warm the bucket to try to melt ice buildup?

On the second page of the settings menu my options are different than the above video...my options are water level, humidity and door alarm. no icemaker option on any of the pages.

Well I ended up doing a good ole reboot with the old trick of simply unplugging the fridge for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. That fixed it...there on the 2nd page the icemaker "on or off" option appeared. Computers and fridges :)
@@Revwd13 I'm glad I stumbled across this video/comments. I restarted my fridge after cleaning yesterday, and no ice today. After watching the video, I looked for the icemaker on/off, and saw it was missing from the settings. After powering off then on, the icemaker control is back. Thanks
