Could you say something about ice level control in this ice maker…. I couldn’t find any information about that … !!!! My ice maker making ice with non stop! …. WHERE IS THE ICE LEVEL CONTROL? I was looking for that for two months and nobody helped me !!!! No information anywhere!! HELP ME PLEASE 🙏!! Just tell me in simple words-- WHERE IS THE ice LEVEL CONTROL? What must to be fixed ? You are my last hope…. So, help me , please…..
that doesnt look like the same model icemaker as your video but wow $66 for a new thermostat its more than a complete entire ice maker. my icemaker broke with the same symptoms as your video, water fills the ice tray and freezes but nothing gets kicked out. was going to try either replacing the thermostat or the heating elements but at these prices might as well just get a whole new unit. maybe ill look for a generic chinese copy thermostat
I have a 2006 GE Profile Side by Side refrigerator which also stopped making ice. First the main board fried after a bird struck the power lines, Had to replace the main board and the evaporator's fan that showed signs of aging and had low internal resistance. This fixed the fridge, however it was an old fridge and both the water dispenser and ice maker werenot working either. The water dispenser stopped because the water lines (made of plastic tubing) aged and disintegrated where they got near the compressor (the heat from it, caused damage to the plastic tubes). I replaced the 5/16 plastic tubing with 5/16 COPPER tubing, used in air conditioning and stuff. Cut and molded it to size, cleaned the insides, making sure the tip surfaces were clean and scratch free, so it wouldn't leak with the quick connections. Also added some insulating foam covers to the longer copper tube that brought water to the fridge door, to keep the water inside from heating. This fixed the water dispenser, probably for the rest of this fridge's life. The ice maker had a faulty inlet water valve, it would not seal, and if you open the water on the wall, the freezer would flood with water. Replaced the water valve with a new one, this fixed the over filling. The ice maker itself would fill the mold with water, freeze it, and try to eject the cubes, but the ice was completely stuck to the mold, when I opened the unit, inside was an electronic board (instead of switches and gears), filled with high power transistors and reed switches, connected to it was a temperature sensor, a motor, and the heating element. The heating element had a thermal fuse attached to it's wiring, and that the part that failed in my unit. Replaced the tiny thermal fuse, this made the heating element work again, and the ice maker is now capable of ejecting cubes.
This was so helpful! I’ve spent hours tinkering with my ice maker and never new it was just missing that… cube slide for lack of a better word. Now it should be an easy fix!
I pulled my apart and grabbed my meter and started going through it. Found a bad thermal fuse that monitors the heater element. I jumped it for now. Can only get them from china it seems Its a "E2F TAM 3a~ 102°C 103 (PS)E Jet" Im going to make sure it works before I spend the 5 bucks and wait like 2 months. :)
@@teachamoore Thermal fuse is in contact with the ice maker's metal mold. When it heats above 102°C for any reason, like lack of water or failure of the compressor/fans to work properly, it opens the circuit that power the heating element.
yes theres a screw on the side thats hidden with a plastic cover and it has (+) and (-) on the plastic. turn it to the (-) direction to reduce water flow
@@HighOctane101 My ice gets cold and frozen, but when the rake hits the ice, it cycles and cant break the ice loose and so it cant complete the cycle and refill. Occasionally, or eventually it finally breaks through the ice and it will cycle then get stuck again. So I never see more then 20 cubes. Would this be the thermostat or the heating element or both? Is it easy to replace the heating element? rcsimon4299@aol.com.
I have this same ice maker, the old one was leaking water on the controls and freezing so it wouldn’t Cycle, so I bought a brand new one and installed it Now I am getting no water to the ice maker , any idea why?
I opened mine up and was surprised it used a microprocessor instead of all those switches. A power surge when a tree took down my power line caused a trace to burn open. Fixed that and it worked.
@@rachelforestell7588 Electronics is my field. It blew up the surge protector and fuse on the board which I replaced. That surge also took out the microwave, dishwasher, DVD player and a clock. Fixed all of those too except the dishwasher. I had a new one in the garage that I hadn't gotten around installing so no point in that. That incident could have been really expensive for most.
Me acaban de regalar uno igual pero nose por donde ponerle el agua para que salga por hay por donde se pone el vaso alguien que sepa que me diga por favor
@@HighOctane101 do you have any idea where you got the thermodisc? I've searched all over the internet and cannot find this part anywhere. Any help locating this part is appreciated. Thank you
@@davidosilva yeah!!! From what I remember I ended up taking the freezing part out and let it thaw popped the ice out, I guess it was stuck in there. Put it all back together and it worked. Hope this helps
@@HighOctane101 ...I did that test and it did not work .. when it starts to pour water it does not stop normally, it continues as if it filled it 3 times, then it stops and then the ice ... I lowered the pressure a lot and did a reset .. I know what else to do.
@@sparkev2356 Left front is a 'button' looking plug, remove it with a very small screwdriver, and you should see a Phillip's head screw, ccw to increase, cw to decrease

Ice maker level stop is the plastic thing that moves in from that is connected to the on off switch in front. Some of icemaker s have like a wire type of stop
Every time the ice machine cycles it pulls that arm in and if ice is piled in front of it, it will stop the process. You can push on it to test it is spring loaded
@HighOctane101 the bottom on the fridge in the Inside was all wet so I don't know I'm thinking when it fills up maybe it leaks. I'll have to take everything out and check I'm thinking the same thing to do new connectors even the display don't work at the bottom I see the red wire is out so im guessing its that. The owner doesn't fix a thing I got this house looking brand new he didn't even recognize it. Thanks for the advice.
It also could be condensation from when the fridge goes into a defrost mode. There is a little tray this water is suppose to go into and then down to a pan by the compressor fan. if this hose plugs up then water backs up in fridge, could be something to check out also.@@momma4900Bitch
@HighOctane101 well this morning we checked and it's all good so I'm guessing from us cleaning out the ice tray and left the fridge open it was filling the tray and it wasn't in so the water just went down. 😅 we had a full tray of ice this morning. Now I want to fix the control panel I see the red wire is out and the other two are taped up so I'll have my husband come and try and tape it back together. Wish us luck and see if the Panel works all together.
