It's very common for native Tagalog speakers who speak English as their non-primary language to mix up the words he/her or she/him as (I believe) there's only one word for both gendered pronouns in Tagalog. A coworker of mine who struggled with the same issue always apologized and insisted she meant no offense. Perhaps it depends if they were educated in English at school (it's a second language and it's required) and if they had paid attention. I'm guessing if someone was raised in a very small community in a province. Otherwise, most people here can differentiate he/she pronouns without trouble. We struggle more when referring to a person with only one pronoun, leaving the listener to wonder if we're talking about a man or a woman.
