Honestly, this is were Lorelai and Luke’s lack of communication with each other started. I personally find the tequila night iffy but Lorelai didn’t do anything that would warrant an immediate break up. But not telling Luke makes it seem so unnecessarily sus 😭 they were always so open and vulnerable around each other during their friendship, why not just keep talking?
Because Lorelai chose to listen to Rory. Rory initiated the lie and scared her mom into complying with it. If Lorelai was left to her own devices, they would’ve been fine. This plot line has always been a pet peeve of mine.
Rory interrupted Lorelai from telling the truth the first time and it shows her lack of maturity, empathy etc since thats how she dealt with things with Dean and Jess, not telling them stuff/lying to them. But Lorelai should 100 per cent know better. It wasnt a big deal but the minute you lie it will be.
Like when Lorelai told Rory not to tell Dean about the kiss with Tristan? Some fans will find literally any minor excuse to hate on Rory but pretend other characters are amazing when they've done the exact same thing if not worse 🙄
@@2029-jo alright Karen, calm down, I _did_ say Lorelai should know better. Also, she's not my favourite character but I'm not in the "I hate Rory" club. Ass-umptions 🤣
I love how you couldn't even pronounce Lorelais name right in the 1st season and now you're wearing a shirt with many of her faces 😂❤😂❤😂 That's so great
If anyone understands the death of someone's father, it's Luke. (Remember his 'dark day' every year?) So I agree -- Lorelai didn't need to lie about it. I hate when a show tries to force conflict between main characters in ways that don't make sense, just to create conflict.
One of Luke's way of showing Lorelei that he cares by making an ice rink. One of my favorites. Lorelei didnt need to lie to Luke. Luke may not have liked Lorelei being with Christopher, but with death, I'm sure he would have understood. Plus with lying, when the truth comes out he may wonder why you felt you needed to lie. What are you hiding behind the lie?
Snow days are the best, it really does make everything feel magical. love seeing happy lor. Lorelai, tell Luke the truth about Chris please! He was so sweet making the ice rink for her tho awww.
18:40 RORY INITIATED THE LYING TO LUKE. Lorelai was gearing up to tell him about her night and Rory swoops in, cuts her off, and says SHE kept her mom busy. But in every subsequent scene, Lorelai takes full responsibility for the lie even though she was confused, hung over, and Shanghai-ed in the moment. It’s a major component with their eventual break-up (this comment is posted after he’s already reacted to that, so not a spoiler) and it boils my blood every time. Yes, after the fact Lorelai could have fessed up at any given moment and didn’t. But Rory convinced her it was a bad idea and it’s a lot harder to tell the truth after you’ve already told the lie first. Just saying….
The "From Justin to Kelly" reference was in regard to the movie that Kelly Clarkson was contractually obligated to make when she won American Idol co-starring Justin Guarini (the runner up). I've never seen it, but it has the reputation of being one of the worst movies ever made and even won some kind of worst musical award 😅 It had a budget of 12 million and made less than $5 million at the box office 🙈 it has an 8% on rotten tomatoes 🤣 Like I say, I've never seen it, so maybe it's not as bad as ppl say, idk. I only know about it from when I used to watch her talk show all the time 😂 (Kelly herself was not a fan of it)
Rory does stink, but a lot of it has to do with later stuff, and of course the Dean situation. That and it takes going through the series and then sitting and thinking about her actions to really realize how entitled she is. You'll see it eventually.
Anyone else other than Lorelai or me can smell snow? ❤ I love your reactions as always & I swear anytime there is a kirk episode I get excited for you ❤
