This summer I spent a month driving across the entire state of Idaho. I experienced 400 foot white quartz sand dunes that span 20 miles, hiked into north Americas deepest river gorge, climbed 10,000 foot peaks in mountain ranges that never seem to end, photographed waterfalls that give Niagara a run for its money, drove through bright green and vibrant yellow farmlands, and enjoyed 3,100 miles of beautiful rivers in a state that holds the most contiguous wilderness area than anywhere else in the US outside of Alaska. Idaho is hands down the most outdoor enthused state and has one of the most diverse landscapes of anywhere I have visited over the last year. Contrary to popular belief, and even though Idaho is responsible for the production of 1/3 of America’s potatoes, the state offers much more to see than just fields of potatoes. Idaho is made up of nearly 34 million acres of public land, that’s over 60 percent of the state! One word to describe Idaho, “Wild”.
