I was helping a customer at work and he had stripes of paint on his hand. I asked what it was from and he was hesitant to say. I asked again later in the conversation and he finally told me about painting minis, almost shamefully. I then proceeded to tell him how I just got done painting my D&D character. Never seen someone relax quicker.

We were interviewing a new partner at work and during the interview I spotted a chainmail necklace. In between interview topics I asked, "I dont know how to ask this politely, but are you a dork? I have made chainmail so i recognize your necklace." We hired her (not just because of that), and she's become a great workmate and a pal.

I don't know if you guys follow the painting phase, but they have some great interviews with some of the old school gw sculpters ect, well worth a look if you haven't seen them yet, i also managed to pick up some of early 90's epic scale space marines and orks for a bargain price, i didn't sign up to stormbringer here in the uk but i did do mortal realms when that came out late 2019 early 2020, and the breakdown of what you got saved me like £800 in models, paint ect

This weekend at the Omelettry, my wife says, "Those guys are wargamers." I ask how she knew, she says, "They're talking about Squats." I say, maybe they're weightlifters? She says, "Now they're talking about round versus square bases, so, no, I don't think so... "

I've been converting people I know to wargaming. It's amazing how many people are so close to what we do and have no idea what it is. Not all of them will start painting but all of them go crazy for the games.

Another mini painting game is Moonbreaker. Super fun game you use the minis in, and the painting part is shockingly awesome and well done. Speaking of Kobolds, if you haven't seen it yet, Blizzard has released STLs for all of the models for Warcraft Rumble, including the awesome little Kobolds!

I think that bundling in extra chargeable items is a standard part of the business model for partwork magazines. You have to keep an eye on the letters they send you with your subscription bundles as they might be saying "we'll send you a folder/book/random bonus item and bill you extra for it next time unless you contact us and opt out". The premium subscription also seems to be a common tactic, though I'm pretty sure you have to have opted in to that when you subscribed - at least it was fairly clear when i signed up for the old 40k Conquest partwork. Its premium content was truly awful so I'm glad i didn't sign up for it, Stormbringer's at least seems all right.

Super interested in seeing the different metallic paints under the microscope. Maybe finding a correlation between how fine the mica/aluminum particles are and how high people rate the metallics. My personal favorites are Vallejo Metal Color series and the Scale 75 ones. Curious about the GSW pure metallic pigments. Like the Gold, Antique Gold, Copper and Bronze.

Now, I wonder if I have a preference for aluminum based metallics based on the opacity and light transference of the pigment. I have problems with a lot of metallics that are basically just the natural properties of mica. That crap looks like rainbow glitter.

Hi ! Napoleon is a dual figure . Black legend (british origin ) a tyrant with no regards for the lives of his soldiers and egostical to the max. And a golden legend for the stateman, great legislative works, decisive leader on the battlefield. It's most certain in between the two that you find the true man. Ridley Scott choose more of the first depicting him as a weak and brutal man who's pushed around by others. There are historical errors in the movie certainly to help with the script and the chosen point of view ( for example Napoleon gives the order to shoot with his artillery into the pyramids in Egypt wich is total nonsense). It was more a story about his wife than their supposed relations than a great epic historical fresque.

I find it weird how much of a wall seems to exist between the scale modelling and miniature painting hobbies, I'm sure there is much they can learn from each other.
