Nice episode Cole, good to see you back again Buddy, that mini shell is looking very rust free and a great basis for the new build! Live long and prosper my friend!

There is one other system, which is what I have on my car, yellow tag master without a PDWA, it just has a junction block. Also the PDWA doesn't affect braking, all it does is send a signal to a light to let you know if the front or rear brake circuit has failed (hence Pressure Differential Warning Actuator).

Excellent information as always Cole. There is also one more master cylinder (now discontinued) known as the black tag which was a dual line system, due to its age it’s recommended to upgrade to the yellow tag, however, the top an bottom lines are the opposite way around in their route to the proportioning valve. Minis 🙄 New garage space looks fantastic

Awesome video, like many others. You are so good at this, man. Why would anyone replace a newer servo breaks that has a much better feel to a yellow tag?

Thanks! Most common reason is wanting to simplify the look in the engine bay or needing the space occupied by the servo for something else (eg. larger breathers, ignition coil, etc). I actually always preferred (in my mini) the feeling of yellow tag or single line brakes. The servo doesn't add enough stopping assistance to me and prefer the more raw feel in the older car. Now on my tacoma....I wouldnt wanna drive it without a servo haha.

Thanks Cole! My previous car (88) and current (92) are both LHD (US style) but had the brake booster and MC on the passenger side. I'm finding very little documentation on it. Is my servo delete better done : - Vertical MC on the passenger side, actuated by the linkage. - Vertical MC on the driver side + run a longer copper line. I'm not sure how the linkage looks like or work, 100% of unboosted brakes I've seen have always been on the driver side. The boys at SMCO seem to generally reach for the single line MC (but would a proportioning valve then be needed?) Thanks in advance 🤝 Emile from Colorado

Hi Cole, I got the yellow tag using pdwa valve and something strange happened to me, luckily I am safe to say it. Got my car started since last December and moving it out found out that I got out of brakes! watched the floor and no marks at all of leaking fluids, I don´t know where it could be! Do you know any places inside / outside to check where the fluid is going? Have a great day!

I have a question. I have a green tag Masterr Cylinder and was wondering if it matterred how the lines are installed. As in; does the connector closer to the servo on the Master Cylinder have to be fixed on the left side on the PDWA as with the fixed lines or can iit be installed either way?

Would love some help. I have a servo brake system (mk1 cooper s type) with discs in front and I was changing the robber cones in front and now my brakes are not working, the pedal doesn't build-up any pressure even with pumping it. I was moving the servo a bit to gain access to the top arm axle nuts but i left all the lines and hoes attached. What could it be, did i mess up something while working on the front suspension?
