Dear Detectives, Trudge through the forest with hush tones as you feel something lurking… Prepare as the Night Watch beckons! Check out the newest hunter!🕯️ #IdentityV #NightWatch #Hunter
The woman found the child left to death in the forest and grew up in love and care. When the guy grew up, she was caught as the witch and local people "got a false idea themselves gods [has the right to judge others] but [on behavior] actually as demons" tortured her before loss of mind. The local witches hunter at whom eyes are as like as two peas on the boy (his twin tormented her?) headed that tortures. Probably, one child was left by parents, the second was thrown out to the forest as superfluous. Then the guy, to whom returned the foster mother who lost mind from pain, put on a nightmare suit from legends to punish those who got a false idea themselves are gods (the locals who tortured the woman). i saw **someone else’s** theory that basically said The woman found a child abandoned in the forest, took him in and raised him. His original family heard some news about him and went to search for him, kidnapped his mother and tortured her until she told them his location. The child was able to save his mother, but his mother had gone crazy and he’s trying to get revenge for his mother and stuff now-
@@vyvx.x no exactly, like female horror characters don't have to be pretty all the time. Like it just feels like idv tires more with male characters when it comes to creepiness.
This is what I could gather from the clip, As a baby, he was cast out into a blizzard to be left to die. He was taken in by a kind woman, who would have known his identity growing up, who could have told him of where he was truly from or who could have killed him for her own safety instead. But instead, she had raised him in love and care. That was until his twin brother broke into the woman's house (this was done with the help of the villagers who were probably after some money reward or something). He ended up torturing her terribly so for raising Night Watch. It's also possible that the twin is of high standing. He had the help of several villagers, had access to a dungeon and full-covering clothes. And demons in the skins of gods would refer to his darkness in torturing Night Watch's mother but still feeling entitled or justified because he (likely) is of high standing. Night Watch eventually had enough and killed his brother, but the mom had been so badly tortured that she sees his twin instead of him. She cannot bear to be around her son, who she can't recognize thanks to the twin's actions. To cope, Night Watch had been killing (I'm not sure as to who the targets are) at night.
Idk about that, I think that the mother was accused of witchcraft and tortured for it. In some cultures having twins is considered bad luck, which is why the boy was cast out into a blizzard and left for dead. In the “capture” scene the boy said they were demons wearing the “skin of gods”, aka they were acting on behalf of gods like priests during the salem witch trials. Also explains why the evil twin is holding what looks like a bible. The nightwatcher then killed his twin and took the twin’s identity to set his mother free (the dead do not speak, he basically did what Chloe/Vera did). I agree with the rest, though!
Im just realising his mother was tortured/captured by the man with the same face as him and maybe that's why she wasnt able to recover even after he brought her home. He just wanted to save her but she was scared of him 😭😭
There twins. It was seen as witchcraft where they are from if a mother is born with twins. To hide this fact and be put on trial for witchcraft. The parents choice to discard one of their babies to die in the blizzard. So no one would ever know the truth. The woman that was accused of witchcraft not too long again found the baby in the snow. She took him in and raised him. But when he grew up the inquisition finally found out where the alleged witch fled to. They broke into the house and took her. While the son was hiding he saw the face of his twin who was leading the witch hunt. (That is what would have happened to him if the parents discard his twin and raised him instead.) They took her to the twin and tortured her, mainly his twin did. But without a second thought, Ith killed his twin and saved his adopted mom. They fled back home but the torture was too great and shattered the mom’s mind (that has actually happened and it can take years for people to recover.) So now he guards their home from anyone that could possible be with the inquisition
fun fact at around the 1:04 mark, you can that Night Watch's silhouette actually resembles that of a "Wendigo" this is prob because of his inspiration "Ithaqua" from HP Lovecraft's source material. One of his nicknames and depictions is that of the Wendigo
"His ugly face that is so alike my own", meanwhile this hunter literally looks like a perfect 10🙄 he's *clearly* fishing for compliments and I fell for it, oh well, but he's pretty cool in general imo.
God, I love so many of the hunters' backstories in IDV- from Bane to Wu Chang to Axe Boy, and some of the more recent, animated ones like Breaking Wheel, Naiad and Clerk are some of my top favorites. This, though? This shot Night Watcher straight to the top of my favorite hunter backstories, I absolutely adore him, Your Honor Edit! I realize, also, that this is now the fifth animated backstory where we actually see the hunter pre-manor (i am not including Luchino's survivor backstory nor Orpheus in this, obviously)! I'm liking that trend so far, of seeing the human side to the many hunters of the manor
Ok listen. THE AMOUNT OF LOVECRAFTIAN HINT ON THIS MAKES ME FERAL WITH HOW MUCH I LOVE IT- I MEAN, "PLATEAU OF LENG" AND HOW THE HUNTER REFER HIMSELF AS "CORPSE" AND THE CULT- LIKES- AAAAHHHHHHH. It reminds me in HPL: The Hound (If I remember it correctly) The Necronomicon places it in Central Asia and Plateau of Leng was habitated by the Corpse-Eating Cult. REMEMBER WHAT THIS HUNTER REFER HIMSELF AS???? AND THE TWIN-! OOOHHH, In HPL: The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, its mentioned the High Priest of some monastery lived in Plateau of Leng. AND THE TWIN WAS SOME KIND OF PRIEST. AND THE BLIZZARD! Maybe it's happened in Himalaya or smth??? Since Himalaya IS IN CENTRAL ASIA. Ok let me cut my rambling here because I need to FANGIRLING
Apparently there's a controversy with this hunter bc yeah it's based on a character of Lovecraft i think but it's one that is referemced on an north American- indigenous culture with the same name ithaqua
@@Hanako_the_Simp It's because idv players see "native americans" and instantly call idv out on "stereotyping" or "culture appropriation" without reading up on the lore or anything about the character :,)
I think it’s about a young boy who was abandoned in the woodlands when he was a newborn. A woman found him and raised him as her own son. But one day, the malicious prince of a nearby village along with his men, entered their home and detained the woman under the accusation (or to be more precise, suspicion) of her being a witch. It was then, when the boy saw that a prince’s face resembles his own, that he realizes the truth: he was actually one of the king’s twin sons and he was banished because his elder brother was chosen to be the heir. He snuck into the royal dungeons and murdered his brother in order to rescue the woman who raised him, but alas he was too late, the woman was tortured to the point of losing her humanity. Fueled by pain of his lost and anger against those who believe themselves to be gods because of their heritage, the boy became the vigilante known as the Night Watch in order to gain revenge on those who had took away his once peaceful life and ensure no one suffers the same pain he and his mother had endured. “The reign of those selfish ‘gods’ shall end on the night the blizzard laid waste to the Plateau of Lang”
The backstory I felt bad for what happen to him and his mother who saved him before corpse. He's now hunt them down revenge for her mother , however he is still have humanity in
no matter i look at it its so weird how all the hunter backstory were genuinely like alot of hunter but for survivor feel like there backstory is much more sinister for the wrong doings xD
Assuming the guy that looked much like the hunter is his twin “I ain’t never seen two pretty twins alive together. It’s always one of them that gotta be dead”
The first time I see him , my mind completely think that he'll be in angels of death crossover lmaoo . ILL DO ANYTHING FOR ZACK EVEN IM LOSING MY KIDNEY
Honestly I won't be surprised if they actually created him as a preparation for that crossover just like what they did with Monokuma before by creating Bonbon.
btw guys go to Exilio, he has a post there where you can read about Night Watcher's skills, he can apparently control the wind and stuff, and he seems like a strong chase hunter
He reminds me of the character Jack the Ripper from the Anime Battle of Ragnarok, they both have really similar motives and have the similar back storys
Omg I hope we will hv a Record of ragnarok crossover in the future. Its my favorite anime and there are a lot of characters that could be amazing skins for idv survs and hunters. For example I would love to play Patient with a Loki skin or Jack with a literal Jack skin.
'tis a stretch, But see that small white bird he had? I think it's meant to represent his Humanity and his Innocence, and after getting his mother back there are black/grey feathers falling. I think it could symbolize his humanity being corrupted, and his Innocence dying Or I could be looking into the animation effects too much
