Absolutely. The present rules are too inconsistent with too many grey areas. There needs to be strictly enforced boundaries. It's perfectly possible to get a nice holiday photo without making a complete nuisance of oneself.
They should change the rules for the public to stop touching these horses. They are working horses & guards they are NOT there to look pretty. Our soldiers can get called up any time for duty. So give some respect to these soldiers, please 🙏
I dont think the tourist relise that the guards are infact working soliders that can be called apon at any moment to serve our country and this is the lack of respect shown to them and thier horses
The patience of the guards always amazes me, there are no Please or Thank You except for occasional lapse of the idiots routine. Please give them some protection from these people.
Loud touchy-feely-tourists show no respect. It is time that access to the public is more restricted, numbers reduced and more monitoring of groups and education given by uniformed military personnel.
Truthfully, most people seem to be pretty respectful but it does confuse me why those who aren’t don’t get moved along more quickly. There isn’t, to me, any reason why those persons or even these large family groups with unruly children aren’t told to move along. I’ve watched one or two horrid families with ill-mannered and badly supervised children permitted to hang about harassing and mocking the guardsmen for far too long.
@@garfield2439 some rot about how english laws don't apply to him because all seats of power are contolled by them now, allah has seen to it. and the other politicians are terrified of the invading army they invited in. france's cities are the same.
There are so many obnoxious and disrespectful people there every day! I was so happy to hear that guard use his outside voice!! Little nudges of the reins and talking softly does 100% of nothing with these folks! 9:00 - Kudos to this gentleman! 👏 He moved as soon as the foot guard came over! He didn't crowd him, listen to the conversation, or even drape himself over the horse and guard, as some have!
Exactly. The Trooper hasn't come out to shoot the breeze. It's reporting between two members of the military. Obviously no great operational information or Official Secrets Act subjects are being discussed but that's not the point. It's still the right thing to do to wait until they've finished. They're only reporting for about a minute tops so it's no great inconvenience. It's important to recognise the people who show respect and don't cause issues as well as pointing out the disrespectful ones. Anyone who walks up,gets a photo, thanks the Trooper and goes about their day are perfectly welcome.I think too many people come to the place simply because other people go so they flock like sheep without knowing where they are or what they're actually looking at. I recently had a "discussion" with a particularly gifted young American who didn't believe they served in Afghanistan because "you wouldn't be able to fight the Taliban with swords". When I suggested he Google "Household Cavalry in Afghanistan" and go to images to see for himself he resorted to insults and refused to look. Some people shouldn't be allowed out of their house let alone out of their country. But all you beautiful respectful individuals please do come and see.
@@Jamie_WulfyrThe American Navy doesn’t conduct wartime duties afloat in dress whites either. It’s always a mystery to me that these tourists are so unable to separate ceremonial duties and its Kit with active duty dress.
Just after the changing of the guard I thought it was lovely to see that young blonde haired boy ask if he could touch the four legged guard and then only do so for a few seconds x well done sir you acted so adult and well brought up what a credit to your parents x 😊
For a start just bugger off out of the way when they're reporting to a fellow Trooper especially a superior NCO.... Awesome. Grab the reins for an encore you oaf.🙄
@@treelover1050 if only your president BIDEN felt like you he doesn’t like the uk and even had Churchills bust removed from the office the man should be in a nursing home he’s nuts
Sorry to correct you but that was Sergeant Major Stokes not the Corporal of the Horse. He has 3 stripes and a cane. He’s well known on the big occasions
If they are in london with guards and horses, it is peoples responsibility to know the rules, no matter what they speak. Most of them arent as stupid as they want you to think.
Women just take it for granted the Guard will say 'Yes' to touching the horse, but this one 2:39 didn't. Other people don't even bother asking, they just do what they want!
You would think that if they SEE a uniform that is going around the horse they would back away and let him do what he needs to do basically. I like seeing the warmer day uniform's now. I wonder if they can use the over coat wrap if it's going to be colder than usual.
It was a surprise to see the ‘Sergeant Major Stokes walking around as he’s the guy that is often in charge of parades like trooping the colour and the Kings coronation.
I believe people need to join a military if only a short time to understand how the system works, how respect is earned and what is correct and why. My dad fought in WW2 and I was in Cadets, it’s understanding how it works. Vs ego that will make the difference.
Well done to the young lad who obeyed the policeman and stayed back before the change, and asked politely for a photo. Lovely to see a young g man with good manners. 👍
To those who comment about the sign & not reading it.....let's not forget many people don't read English. I can speak 3 languages however can't read them
@@billiemoody4525 agree, however it is also the responsibility of the English government to protect their riders & horses since they see what is going on on a daily basis...."common sense" tells me few people lack the respect. Even Disneyland goes to great lengths to protect their employees/cast members.
There is no reason, especially with information available online, that people don’t learn the culture, rules, laws and other important information BEFORE THEY VISIT A DIFFERENT COUNTRY. respect is very easy!
Why did you video the silly tourists getting their photos with the horses and not the dismounting of the guards ? I was waiting to see that especially since they are now wearing their gorgeous spring summer uniforms?
OMG are those non English speaking people kidding? Did they not see the officer attending the guard, their kid was screaming, and hovering so close that the officer practically shimmied against the wall? Thank God for that great voice of the guard shouting, "get off the reins". I wouldn't trust anyone, being that far away from a stroller with coats and bags

I wonder how people take the right to hold the reins without at least ask, but almost it is WRITTEN just on the wall DON'T TOUCH THE REINS ... the stupidity has no nationality..
You never know who is walking around our kings guards or in front of them . Tourist you don’t know who they are . What they are carrying . This worries me
Good grief are people really this dumb and disrespectful? I dont really understand the service of kings guard, but i sure feel sad for the horse and the guards.
Reins ?? this is a foreign word to many and don't know what reins is .......put a pictograph to indicate no hand/touching of reins hopefully they will understand it/respect it. many tourist or non english speaking[reading/understanding]....."get off the reins" is too foreign to understand........"Hands off" might be better quick and easy would probably more understandable......i've seen many of this videos and majority did not know why the guard yelled or what he yelled foreign tourists would not have a clue to "get off the reins" means by the look of their faces they're just as surprised....
