it won't help..because even when they are standing in front of the sign, they still ignore the "Don't Touch The Horse" rule..they are entitled people who don't think rules apply to them because they think they are special
Although people might come from the right hand side for a photo op, if they had previously been standing just a few feet in front of the Guard and horse the sign would still have been visible to them. They don't all come straight along the right hand side.
really?? horse is clearly agitated throwing its head around. so people think that no touching means you can crowd the horse? horses are still showing signs of stress. know the signs of a stressed animal. that's why the guard is moving him back n the box.....jeesh
No warnings are completely effective; there is always one idiot to stick his finger in the light socket no matter what he's told. But it must help to have the signs.
I agree.. The sign should be on both sides of the wall. Honestly I think there should be no tourist allowed at all in that area. They are making a mockery out of the Guardsmen and their horses. I get so mad seeing all those people surrounding them. Isn't there something that can be done with keeping these tourist completely away....they are so ignorant and disrespectful.
Some people dont seem to realise that a horse can sleep standing up so when they keep touching it it gets restless and irritated cause its not being allowed to relax
I wish you had followed with your camera. That first girl who touched the horse because she gave that guard a dirty look if they get told off kind of follow them. And see what they're doing.Because I think she's not happy, Sorry but if you can't follow the rules don't care if you were not happy about what the guard said. These are working military men , women and horses...❤❤
The horses couldn’t say no enough times but molesters were molesting relentlessly some of the horses had cracked up resorting to biting & not letting anyone near them..
I think the signs are really helping the poor horses from being mauled all day….Funny a few weeks back I suggested signs with a horse with a red line going through it because not all visitors can read English….I was shock and pleased that they put up those universal sign…..Great minds think alike….😊😊
Why are the guards afraid to enforce the law it states do not touch the horse what use is that if nobody enforces it they say that the tourists are idiots because they continue touching the horse. Also, an idiot is the one who allows it to happen. it states right there and it’s a picture right there not to touch the horse and nobody acknowledges it not even the guard, pitiful😅
Somewhere in the middle part of this video a guy was shouting out in his own language for the people he was photoing to touch the horse. It was obvious that the guard understood what was going on. Backed his horse many times in & out of the box, this showed on the horse bit in its mouth. About 6 visitors tried to get in a position but to no avail . Eventually the guardsmen brought the horse out of the box in direction of this problem voice & they moved away & gave up. These sort of visitors are not wanted there they ignore military rules & laugh at what they think is clever. They are cunning & to be called out & shamed. The police should have been called over to deal with this provocation. The guard did a brilliant job.
The poses looking like Gang signs are ridiculous. They need to stop people from coming up to the horses. They thibk its ok to grab thr reigns and pull them to position for their DAMNED SELFIES! All guards need to YELL " STAND BACK'.
I quite agree.. they all obey signs everywhere else.. a bank says on the door… “ staff only “.. motorway sign says .. slow down .. animals on the road.. a lift says .. 5 people only at any time.. don’t observe it, you could not live to see the next day
She was standing there taking a picture of that man .. then quick unexpected action & made her wish come true, man showed her the sign.. she didn’t even look at it
Please place the new signs on both sides of the walls. And much higher. I still think a recording should be used telling folks Do Not Touch the Horse. They are Working. Please consider these ideas.
You're right about the positioning of the signs, but the other idea is a non-starter. How many languages should the recording be in? Do you believe that any recording loud enough to be heard over the din you can clearly hear in all these videos wouldn't disturb the horse?
Plus a painted 1/2 circle on the pavement in front of the horse and Guard from iron gate to iron gate that people must not go over to prevent all the touching and people getting so close, jerking with fright when the horse turns towards them, and upsetting the horse even more. The Asian tourists are the worst offenders for this.
How many pictures and how much time that guy needs? The one that came in at 15:16. He was on the other side and stood there for a long half time. And now here he is again. I think he's trying to figure out if he can touch the horse and get away with it.
Yes the signs should be on BOTH walls and One should be placed at Trooper Level as the current sign is continually being obscured by Tourists standing in front of it.
I’m so pleased to see horse petting has stopped. I’ve been saying it shoukd for ages. These love,y creatures don’t need the continual petting nor does it look very professional when tourist swarm around them. Thank you to who decided this. 🥰
A policeman came & told someone who was pawing away religiously with 2 signs not to touch the horse.. the man said i asked the guard & he said yes.. well.. even a policeman is not enough to keep them at bay.. the guard was biting his lips & looked nervous.. he should offer himself instead of the horse who tried everything to say no
As frustrating as it is when tourists ignore the signs, it's not fair to blame the Guards, who are just doing their job and following orders. They *aren't* responsible for the tourists' behaviour or actions. Whether they can shout or not is up their higher ups. They probably don't realise that the signs are still being ignored.
I say those that (still) don’t want to obey the rules, on the signs that are already posted, are just fair game to the “reality checks” (in the form of bites and snatch ups) from Ormonde, Arnie, & the other biters! 🤣🤣🤣
A better idea still - close the compound off to tourists/civilians. Those interested - and there would be plenty - could surely spectate from outside the railings!
Who did that karen in the black shirt at 30:23 think she was?!! motioning the horse out of the box!! it is not her horse!! The guard should have kept his horse in the box just to spite her!! instead of giving her what she wanted!! you never ever give a karen what they want!!
I love the Guards and horses! I think there should be a guard standing near horses to keep people from touching the horse. People disgust me because of how they act. No respect at all!! 😢
They are MOD POLICE, not the London Police. As long as They do their job, their size isn't important. Sign of the times to have to use terrorist police.
I see alot of comments about foaming at the mouth etc this is down to the horse playing with the bit. If it was anything other than that the guard would know, you can feel it through your hands. The duty is only for an hour then the bit is removed hence why alot play with it.
Omg! I swear these people are dim. You have a horse that is getting stressed and walking out of the box, but you better get that great pic! Doesn’t matter if your next pic is the horse running you over…
Would some of you guys stop trying to give pass marks to these people . They are NOT interested in ANY signs whatsoever. In today's age far too many people have the attitude that " rules are not for me , I do what I want "
You know...this is probably internationally incorrect with all the global population changes, but watching these tourist crowds in London....I miss the old fashioned English characters with all the English quirks of yesterday..the Miss Marples and Jeeves & Wooster people. Don't get too global Brits. Don't lose your British charm.
No lo quieren entender ni en ingles, ni en castellano se lo estan diciendo, ni dibujos,no aceptan un no ,cuando dejas el cerebro en el hotel se pone dificil
I 've been thinking of a way to bring attention to the "do not touch the horse" signs. If the powers that be will get some wireless stick on spotlights and arrange them to shine on the signs it should highlight the warnings. If they were flashing it may work even better. Just a thought.
Flashing lights on a 300yr old Grade 1 listed building? No thanks, and considering that some horses have got spooked by camera flashes, what are continuously flashing lights going to do to them?
Agree signs should be on both sides. As much as I would love to be able to visit the UK and see the King's Guard personally, the last thing I would do would be crowd or pet the horses. In fact I would ask the Guardsman if I can approach for a picture. It is the respectful and polite thing to do.
Sign should go both sides and higher so the idiots who can't read don't lean on them they are not pillows for you to lean on they get bloody worse with their manners and disrespect
18:56…does the horse have something stuck in his mouth…he keeps raising and lowering his head while opening and vpclosing his mouth…there is saliva all around his mouth…foaming…?
Eu acho que essa proibição foi depois de um dos cavalos ter mordido a perninha de uma menininha no colo do pai. Claro que o culpado foi o idiota do pai
Well this is the first time I've seen a guard act like he knows what the sign says... some one touch the horse he pulled the horse away... Usually the guards let them disobey the signs
I know nothing about horses except that those well taken care of are magnificent and beautiful animals but they can also be dangerous. I admire them from a safe distance.
There are signs saying not to do that, but there are some idiots who don't understand. They can't read the words, but they can understand by looking at the pictures... If there are people who can't understand because of their national character, then that is the reality, and that's why conflicts arise.
Put the visual sign above the black written sign on both sides, that way, it won't be hidden behind a tourist getting pictures and get hanging side ways from tourist leaning up against it.
Important *There should be a half circle ~ 10- 15 feet where tourists have to wait* LEFT AND RIGHT. *HORSES CAN'T SEE AN ~ 10° ANGLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THEM, tthat is IF you approach them, dont go for the spot between the eyes, but slowly from below - yes where the teeth are. Often horses throw their head up to SEE !* Also they can smell - not as good as dogs ,ok , but they?can feel someones energy quite good. Oh - AND there is another ~ 15 degree "blind spot" directly on their back. Because their eyes are on the side like in basically any prey animal ? ______Anecdote ______ That's why so many ab*** horses go crazy if you raise your arm while riding. Because they often were beaten into submission and they didn't see it coming - literally. I was riding such a horse when on vacation and when it came to the slightest jumping attemts- groundwork , like shortening the stirrup - belts, going slightly backwards you could feel him tense up, hind legs going under to go forwards in a flash ? And if he spooked, he would likely have me run over the boarder to Hungary ...it was maybe a mile away....😂 Sadly an ab**** horse will imnediately react to a raised arm from the rider's position. Like they expect to be bea*en with a stick or something with an arm raised high. On vacation, I didn't like to go to the spa after one try, I found myself in the stable most of the time. I cleaned leather, took bridles apart , polished saddles, helped others in the group going for a ride or a lesson to saddle their horses or pick up the hoofes - many were very anxious about that.... So I earned one or two early morning rides and one wagon ride to the " SEEWINKEL". ( Burgenland, Austria . You can see all kind of birds there. Herons, all sorts of diving birds, ducks - no not the " normal" ones, birds of prey, swans, birds on their way to another continent... dozend of fish...) The teacher had a stubborn, young anxious horse , gorgous but no second without: "A leaf ? Oh no ! A flea coughing ? Must avoid 10 miles !" So we went over some spots over and over again. *But:* Nothing is more calming than the stomping and chewing and huffing, while ia raining. Maybe everyone else is indoors, angry they couldn't go to XYZ , or playing indoor tennis, are stuck in a mud bath ... Also - you could go swinming until 10 pm (when almost no one was sober enough to swim I guess...there was And I was sitting there, in the barn, with soap and leather- fat, cloths, a bucket , brushes, some racks, happy as a clam, while the rain was falling and the horses were chewing and huffing. The teacher had to be near anyways, because one mare was soon to give birth. I was even sometimes locked in there while she took tourists for short tour and if she forgotteb me there, I would have taken a horse cover and slept there or take apart and clean equipment all night. The only thing interesting apart from the pool were the horses anyway, so I could sleep then. ( I am sorry, non native English speaker, so I don't know all terms when it comes to specific topics and my gramnar is horrible, I know. )
See if the horse is calm, no untoward movement. Meaning he dont sense any disturbance😊. According yo google and ny granfather horse can hear heartbeat 4 feet away.
These tourist who insist on touching are not silly but CUNNING. Anything to get a picture with them touching. They are laughing at authority so must me SHAMED.
They see those signs ,horses jump up and down they just stand there they can't read signs are for smart people they are use to looking at Roy Rogers and Trigger 😂so they think all horse's are trained
Why they not getting it , you should put the horse sign on the horse like the guide dog ‘s they have on the jacket. Instead of that chain they should put a horse sign on the neck like necklace front shoulder .
See, the little kids know inherently that the horse is a danger. What is the problem with the so-called adults? Do they all think they're a horse whisperer? Im curious, did the guard ok whatever the girl fed the horse?
What kind of motifs are these? Take a photo of the guard on his horse and that's fine, but not your own head in front of warning signs with half a horse on it.
no the signs aren't working. period. what tis still happening is the tourist are crowding still, almost smothering the horses personal space so now the guard is fearful that if spooked the horse will trample someone. The tourists have figured out if they get close and crowd the horse that when the horse swings and moves it's head it will TOUCH THEM. the tourists can then put their fingers and hands up to not get bite and now the shoe is on the other foot and it's the horses fault that they get touched and not the tourist touching the horse. to really piss the tourists off is keep the horse far back in the box...lol .
