phoenixrising7777 problem is Iris is too old to play Bond now being 44 besides Daniel Craig has already signed on for next Bond which won't be released until 2019. So even if Craig decides not to do the one after that Idris would then be 48, too old!

I think his window has passed. If they had gone with him 5-7 years ago when his name first came up (instead of diq'in around), he would have been awesome (and still young enough to evolve through a series of 007 movies, not just 1 or 2) They fuq'd up missing out on him then.

Honestly I thought Seth was boring when he first started his show but I started looking at more clips on RU-vid and I think he's a great host! "Wrong shape/silhouette": Eh? Daniel Craig's shape/silhoutte was nothing like Roger Moore's Bond, or Pierce Brosnan's. Also, Idris is an actor; he can bulk-up, lose weight, hit the gym, etc, as required. But he already looks pretty similar to Craig in that scene where he walked out of the sea... "Common accent": He's an actor. His US accent in The Wire was so convincing people didn't realise he was British, including the director (if the story of his casting is not apocryphal). I think he can handle it! "Tattoos": They're not that visible and make-up artists are very skilled. He's a fantastic actor and I reckon he'd be great, but being cast as Roland in _The Dark Tower_ might have hurt his chances. If the next Bond isn't Idris or Tom Hardy then I'm out. ✋
