I like how this comic implies that Tumble actually wanted to win the competition legitimately. I'm more impressed that he took his loss well and didn't cause any trouble.
Espio is a great sport not only he won the flower contest but donating his prize to Jewel’s Museum, and even giving her a gem he won in one of the carnival games
Honestly what I think is kind of impressive, seems like Tumble was legitimately trying to win the contest honestly with his plant without playing any tricks like his brother. I guess he probably has a small passion for gardening, he seemed to take the loss without trying anything too.
He HAS been the more sympathetic one of the Skunk Brothers since Issue 13. Maybe, since he can't grow a new tail, growing a plant was sort of a way to compensate for that.
I think it would’ve been interesting if tumble got mad at rough for sabotaging the other competitors because he wanted his flower to win on its own merit because he worked hard on it
Yeah, that's the only thing missing from this. I was SURE they were going to reveal a twist like that. Would make Rough's simple punishment seem more deserved because he also would've had to deal with the shame of disappointing his bro.
I'm surprised Shadow wasn't in this, because in the Lego dimensions Sonic pack there's a side mission involving helping Shadow plant flowers around the hub world.
nah idw scrapnick mecha sonic would be more into that stuff in canon but they are still knida doing things on scrapnick island still trying to get the scrapnick carrer airship runing still.
When I saw the silhouette, I was actually a little worried. The fleeing alleged perpetrator was clearly an insect, meaning it was gonna be either Jewel or Charmy. Both had possible ill motives for doing so, and I REALLY didn't want to hate either character. Jewel wanted that giant geode, but sabotaging Silver's plant would have been low and out of character of her; I would have ended up wishing that Clutch to do his worse to her, though without killing her. With Charmy it seemed like it would have been a childish prank, and I could only think "NO, Charmy! Don't revert to a brat!"; I'm glad that wasn't the case. In either case, many of us would have been angry at them for adding another wound to Silver's self-esteem; and I didn't want either of them to become suddenly unlikable for any of us. Again, I'm glad that wasn't the case.
If i had written the stories of the Holiday Specials, they'd be a bit different, like in Spring Broken, i would have made one of the heroes be the one who caused the sabotage just to be the winner.
@@RobertJames-zs7xc I also hope that Whisper and Tangle force Laoilon to apologize to Silver and make it up to him. If she doesn't apologize to Silver at all then this IDW series has bad writers.
This special was fine ,kinda wish it inspired by one of the covers, when the characters shrink down, Knuckles Tangled Whisper and Blaze didn't show up, that's a bummer, but hey it was fine also like Espio and Jewel friendship
Positives, the artwork is great, its fun to see the cast mingle. It was good to see Sonic stop to get a kid a new balloon. Cons: It just didn't appeal to me. The story felt too long for what the plot is. But it was fine
I wouldn't exactly call the Halloween special a FALL special, and I wouldn't exactly call the winter special a CHRISTMAS special. Halloween is just IN fall, it isn't fall itself. an actual fall special should be about the falling leaves and harvest, though I'm still working on specific details. As for a Christmas special, it should be based on a Christmas Carol, with Lanolin being the Scrooge and her mother being the Marley (based on Mr Thomas's drawing of her with her mother) and Cream being the Tiny Tim, and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future be identical to Jewel, Tangle and Whisper respectively.
a few people didn't like this one shot because of how Silver was portrayed saying how him crying over a plant is very out of character for him or he's not supposed to be a complete moron or be very overdramatic and my reaction was so Silver isn't allowed to act his age or be dramatic he's 14 let him act his age, sometimes i feel like the sonic fandom has a characterization problem in a negative or positive way
@@LordKang sega did once state some of the characters age on the official website but remove it probably to not cause anymore fandom outrage or controversy
Considering how Silver lives/lived in a future were plants probably were hard as hell to even find, alongside the annual with him and Blaze making his garden, I think whoever legitimately thinks Silver being upset over his plant is 'mischaracterisation,' missed the mark on IDW Silver's personality entirely. I get he isn't the same as he was in 06. But it's accurate to how he's protrayed nowadays. Yk for as much as people bring up he's from the future, alot of people don't put basic logic into this sort of thing.
I didn’t care for this one. This felt like a big nothing burger. I kinda hope that they ditch these and just stick to the main stories and mini series. These seasonal stories are usually kinda lame.
Aside from being a pretty meh story, a lot of the art was kinda crap, especially near the end. And they really need to stop making upskirt shots of Amy.
