I have been listening to your class since I have known your video on RU-vid. Everything on English Grammar is explained clearly and effectively. Is the sentence grammatically correct? If you find any error ,you can point it out.
Sir Adam, I have a punctuation-related question: Could you, please, explain how to use curly quotes? Thank you in advance! Best regards from Ukraine! Looking forward to more videos regarding the topic of crafting decent essays!
" " are generally used for direct quotes (i.e., repeating what someone said or wrote elsewhere). It tells the reader that the words in the quotes are a direct copy of the original. Is this what you had in mind?
The two main types of quotation marks: Curly quotes are often referred to as smart quotes. That’s because they curve toward the text you’re quoting. This is done automatically in most word processors. Straight quotes are what they sound like - straight, vertical marks without any indication of which word or phrase it’s surrounding. When you look at most keyboards, you’ll see straight quotes instead of curly quotes
as a teacher that I was, the worst thing you can do when going over an essays is cross -- deleted in order to making an art of work instead of backing up the student. Were I to get my essay with such a disapointed crossing-deteled nearly all my words I would problably give up learning a Language. The best method is not how teachers want to read. Being perfect is a deterrent. So , let the student some slack. Deterrent reviews must be get ride of teaching. Dishing it out. One thing is back up reviews and other is rewriting the essays by teachers.
How can students learn, if not from their own mistakes? How can they see their mistakes if it weren't for a good and experienced teacher, who shows them a better way? It has nothing to do with art of work, it is called continuous improvement, and every ambitious student understands this.
Were I to give an opinion of Which likes every one I would play lottery beforehand.do you know reading between lines. ? Opinions about review essays don't make me better student, but I want to write my own essay, not being teacher's pet
I agree. However, this assessment is not for an composition class or a high school English class. This is for the IELTS exam, a very expensive and potentially life-changing test. In this case, every mistake can cost not only points, but actual money, time, and options. The IELTS examiners do not cut anyone too much slack, so I want to help test takers avoid these mistakes and avoid losing points. Hope that helps.
