While there isn't a universally agreed-upon list of "21 Rules of Comma," here are some common rules for comma usage in essay writing: 1. Use a comma to separate items in a list. 2. Use a comma before coordinating conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet) when they connect independent clauses. 3. Use a comma after introductory phrases or clauses. 4. Use a comma to set off nonrestrictive (nonessential) elements in a sentence. 5. Use a comma to separate coordinate adjectives. 6. Use a comma to separate two independent clauses joined by a conjunctive adverb (e.g., however, therefore, moreover). 7. Use commas to set off appositives. 8. Use a comma to separate elements in addresses, dates, and geographical locations. 9. Use a comma before or after direct quotations, depending on their placement in the sentence. 10. Use a comma to separate the elements of a compound sentence. 11. Use a comma to separate contrasting elements or phrases. 12. Use a comma before a conjunction in a compound sentence. 13. Use a comma to indicate a pause or shift in thought. 14. Use commas around parenthetical expressions. 15. Use a comma after a dependent clause that starts a sentence. 16. Use a comma to separate independent clauses when using a coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS). 17. Use a comma to separate elements in a series, including the final item before "and" or "or." 18. Use a comma to separate multiple adjectives modifying the same noun. 19. Use commas to set off phrases that express contrast or transition. 20. Use a comma after an introductory word or phrase. 21. Use a comma before a quotation that is being introduced by a verb like "says," "asked," or "shouted."

Very complicated for beginners . Make it easier, shows in actual what and how the paragraph must be written. You lecture is good for person whose English is excellent and having good vocabulary, grammar and writing skills. For the beginners having weak English is a bouncer.
