Dear IELTS candidates,
I have created this video lesson to teach you how to write an informal letter for the IELTS General Training test.
I highly recommend using the following strategies:
1) Use contractions instead of full words in your informal letter.
• isn’t can be written as is not
• aren’t can be written as are not
• don’t can be written as do not
2) Use colloquial phrases and expressions:
• It’s been ages since we last caught up.
• Hopefully, your loved ones and you are keeping well.
• Why don’t you___?
Divide your letter into the following paragraphs:
Introduction (the purpose of the letter - I was wondering if you could ___A great idea popped into my mind. Why don’t you___?)
Body paragraph 1 (point 1)
Body paragraph 2 (point 1)
Body paragraph 3 (point 1)
Closure (Take care/Cheers/Looking forward to catching up.)
