I took a test last week and got a band 7.5 for speaking. I’ve learnt a lot by watching your video in RU-vid and “fluency gym” lectures. You taught me good ideas, languages and pronunciations in speaking, which plays a key role in my success. @@anjaligagat5839 sure! Watch Keith's videos and do a practice session using the model test papers. Make sure to use a range of vocabulary and a couple of complex sentences. I try to incorporate few idioms and similies, if possible. All the best 👍
Hello Mr. Keith! I just want to thank you for all your videos. Those helped me a lot to achieve my target speaking score. I saw my ielts result yesterday and i made it. I got 7.0 in speaking. I just want to share all the questions i was asked to to help somehow. Again thank you very much. ☺️ part 1: do you work or do you study? How do you see yourself after 5 years? At this moment in your life what do you think is your most achievement? What do you think is the best age group? Do you know a famous person? Part 2: describe a person who taught you a new skill when you were a child.. Part 3: is learning a new skill from other person better than learning alone? What skill should a parent teach to his/her child before entering school? What benefit does a child get if he/she learn a new skill from another child?. ☺️
These lessons are so useful. I think the questions are challenging! If I were an English learner taking this test, I would need some time to think of ideas to answer them!
This speaking was so natural but in Punjab speaking Examiners specially native Indians, I don’t know what they want ? I wish they could make speaking as natural only . If I have given my speaking like this they could have possibly given me 5 .
Dear I have also scored 7 but It was 2 years back from Chandigarh too.I spoke naturally , I recently gave exam by following new things like idioms , complex sentences which I might have not used before and now in Patiala Examiners gave me just 6.5. twice , that was really sad. I always feel confident and motivated whenever Keith explains , the way he analyse English with band descriptors I wish I could get a Examiner like him next time.

i agree , i mean , I am not being shady or something but she has a lot of crutches and also the intonation + the slight lilt of ( american - brit - indian ) accents is just very annoying . Like she's rolling the R ffs when she's literally saying PHAAAAK , in the brit way .

I am very happy today. Finally scored 8 7.5 7 7 🥰🥰🥰. I have given ielts exam 3 times but every time I failed to get 8777 score. One thing I must say we need some guidance. Without proper guidance and coaching it is tuff to get dream score. Trainer know the tricks to clear exam. @Keith: India, a society is referred to the group of flats in the local neighbourhood or township that you can say. It is not the literal 'society' here. We refer to it as a "housing-society", cluster of flats grouped together.

I did the test couple of weeks ago. Speaking Questions were about criativity, make decisions, chance your mind, impact in life, children taken decisions. W2 Was about spend Money in parties, birthdays celebrations x lost of time and $. Test was in Dublin, Ireland. Love your Chanel😘

Well its not worth it some teachers even recommend that not to use words like you , we , us (which includes the invigilator) what i do: Try to fell that you are speaking to the recorder😂 therefore i don't make use of these words very often

"Society" is cultural mistake, because I think in India and Pakistan specially in developed cities some communities have names like "society", colony, Schemes etc.
I got 7.5 and let me tell you guys you dont need to worry even if you use simple english cause i spoke without using much fancy words but still managed to get a decent score because i was confident and less nervous also my examiner was really sweet that also made me speak comfortably.So,be confident guys and you'll be able crack it!
I took my speaking test yesterday. I was asked questions about museums, written agreements, and making promises. Overall, it went pretty well. I think I was great with the fluency bit and I did not make any grammatical mistakes either. I used complex sentences, connectors and all, and kept it pretty natural. I will get my scorecard sometime next week. Hoping for the best! Thanks, Mr. O'Hare for your guidance. It REALLY helped! :)
@@kashikagupta3112 Hey! I was asked to discuss a time/moment when I made a promise to someone. And then there were multiple follow-up questions about the same. Another section was about my opinion on the importance of written agreements over verbal agreements.
Same here I got 7.5 on my Speaking Test on-site in the British Council a while back. I also got that question "What kind of housing do you live in?" Probably would have gotten a higher score if only I've discovered this sooner. This is such a beneficial channel.
Thanks, Keith for your videos on Speaking tips. I recently took my IELTS exam on 30th January 2022 and I scored band 8.0. For future test takers, I will say just be natural don't force yourself to use uncommon words and complex sentences, just take this test as a normal interview. Make sure you can communicate effectively whatever you want to say. During the conversation if you can use some good synonyms and can make complex sentences it's good, otherwise, just relax.
