To sum up: 1. Don't start your essay without making notes about what you're going to write 2. Read the statement carefully, to cover all points in your essay 3. Avoid word and idea repetitions and mechanical linking 4. Develop your ideas in a well-structured way 5. Us a variety of sentence types 6. Show your knowledge of specific vocabulary related to the topic 7. And all this is a matter of practice, so practice, practice as much as you can (btw use also some phrasal verbs )

You didn't include and clear position in your conclusion. They need to find something in between means that you're pretty unsure about your own opinion.

All the teachers at E2 are nothing sort of amazing! This channel was helpful in unimaginable ways, and especially the Writing Task 2 videos were platinum standard! First attempt: S 8.5, R 9, L 7.5 (my ADHD got better of me I guess), W 7 Second attempt: S 9, R 9, L 9, W 7.5
according to AE help, you shouldn't write in the passive sense. For e.g - in this essay i will... rather be active and just include your thesis. What do you think?

Hi, I just want to say thank you to you guys, I watched your videos, did the free trial exam practice on your website and I wrote ielts for the first time 30th March 2023 in my country Nigeria and my results are; speaking 9, listening 7.5, reading 7.5 and writing 7. To be honest, I was very scared of writing as this is not a place I tend to excel but I got the required band I need as a doctor and I’m very happy. Thank you. To the new people, I just want to say the exam isn’t as difficult as we think it is. Just practice, read more essays and you’ll do great
I applied the tips. Mastered the vocabularies for different topics,so I didn't repeat any new word more than twice. Used complex sentences at all least two in each paragraph as well as compound ones. Spent 5 mins proof reading and carefully checking my punctuations and spellings. Wrote clearly.
I DON'T comment on any content but this one deserves a big shout out. I'm here just say a big thank you. I only watched your videos for three days to my exams since I had a busy schedule. I did my exam on 1st April. I got my results yesterday. I scored Reading-6.5 Speaking-7.5 Writing _7 Listening _7 Total band 7. I'm eternally grateful for this channel.

I needed to describe a procedure kind of text (It only has illustration), and do you have any tips on how to do it?
I am not great at English but I don’t think the example in body paragraph 1 of the high scoring essay is relevant - the paragraph is about durability but the example about buying mobile phones regardless of people’s need and their mentality does not relate to goods being durable or not.
I did my ielts test first attempt, got a good total band, excelled in speaking and writing with 8,listening was satisfactory I managed to get 5,however reading disappointed me. I did shoddy work. I freaked out at the wide rage of texts and less time. Please Advise me. I'm about to resit my 2nd attempt and I'm so so fearful because ielts is the only thing standing my way.i love your vlogs
Hi Mark, Thank you for your tips! I've a question regarding the content that you built in. Why did you include your ideas or solutions in every paragraphs, altough they aren't required. Hello good people, got my results today. Secured an overall 8 and 7 in writing. And the entire credit goes to Jay and you. Your writing tutorials are the easiest and one of a kind. @@anumbilal5658 well i had prior experience of writing. So i didn't face much difficulty in writing. Just the structures that E2 taught for writing was really effective and easy to follow for me.
I want to ask would the number of words will affect the band score? Because I saw that the mediums band score essay, just has 153 words, and the higher score essay has around 353 words.
I learnt some great strategies from this team for which I am grateful. I wrote my IELTS exam last weekend however although I addressed all the tasks in Task 1, I wasn't able to write the closing line and salutation because I ran out of time. I finished Task 2 and I believe I did a good job. How will this affect my marks? Can I still get an 8? Thank you for your help.

@@altevious01-fg7ce Well after all it is a matter of training - I always read scientific papers for my studies. Most papers for computer science are written in English and not in German (my native language). The only real advise I can give you is start by reading the questions just the first few and look for specific things in the text that are related to the questions - I prefer to highlight the things and after finishing the passage look at the highlighted points and ask yourself: Do they answer the question or do I need to look for something else?

Hey, while I agree that the essay sounds great, but it is way more over the limit of 250 words. I wrote it in MS Word and found that the ''High Scoring Essay" is 354 words. Is the 3rd body paragraph really necessary if we can provide our opinion in the conclusion? (for a high band score)

Anyone with good writing knowledge ? Lets evaluate our essays. There is an opinion that opportunities must be provided equally to both men and women. This essay agrees with this viewpoint for two reasons. This essay will first discuss how working women add monetary value and then discuss why it is a moral injustice to deprive them of their goals. Firstly, when a woman is involved in professional fields, she brings financial benefits to her family. Unlike in the past, when women were expected to be confined to their household activities, they are now embraced in different professional fields because of their ability to work in extreme situations. Professions such as receptionists and nurses, for instance, offer great value to people's lives, and women are the only ideal choice to meet the demands and challenges of these jobs because of their soft skills in communication and emotion handling. Therefore, the financial needs of the family can be fulfilled only if women are also breadwinners. Furthermore, by not allowing them the chance to work, we snatch away their moral rights as individuals. In other words, everyone, whether male or female, has dreams and aspirations to achieve goals and success in their lives, and if given the opportunity, women can do as well as men, if not better. Florence Nightingale and Mother Teresa, for example, would not have had their work recognised if they had been stopped from pursuing their dreams. This illustrates that it is morally incorrect to suffocate their desires just because they were traditionally seen as homemakers and child nurturers. To sum up, this essay believes that there are two primary reasons why women should be given the same chance to work as men. Firstly, they generate a reliable source of income for their household. In addition, eluding them from their rights would be morally wrong.
Coming back to this video 3 weeks later I think that at 1:37 what needs to be highlighted is "discuss both views". You only need to do so when asked to (I think?). I was new to Ielts and this is one of the first video I watched about it. It somehow made me think that I always need to expand upon the statement (which I now think is not true, correct?) Looking at the sample test from Ielts website. In writing 2A it says: In Britain, when someone gets old they often go to live in a home with other old people where there are nurses to look after them. Sometimes the government has to pay for this care. Who do you think should pay for this care, the government or the family? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Am I right in thinking that all I need to do is to stick to the question, i.e., "who do you think should pay", "reasons", and "examples"? No need to talk about both views and how Britain does it, right?

Hi, I am from BANGLADESH 🇧🇩.I love E2 teachers and want to be a VIP student but in my country getting a master or visa card is almost impossible and without that I can not pay the expenses. If E2 add a local paying method from every country (If possible) then it will be easy for learners all over the globe.
