While being weather resistant and durable, its primary pose will be to give the power armour form (so that it looks futuristic and formidable-further adding to its ability to function as a deterrence), as well as double as additional shock-absorption/shock-dampener. I bet you wouldn't have an issue with AI replacing literally any other profession though. Paralegals? Irrelevant. Database operators (data entry)? Replace them already. General practice doctors? Not the problem of the art world. But it'd be the end of the world if creating art was more accessible. If someone could just say to a program "hey here's this idea I had, make it for me" rather than having to find some artist with the right style, who is talented, and charges a not insignificant amount of money... for something that might not be what you wanted. "Hoomans are spessal!" -Artists, "AI has no soul, but hoomans totally do. Even though there's no evidence for such a thing. And everything we do is deterministic."

There will be tons of AI slop for sure, there already is. But leaving it at that underestimates the impact AI will have on our society. Imagining AIs future potential as Google/Facebook but with AI, is like imagining internet as "The local library but digital". Sure, it is that too, but there will be so much more to it than that. When it comes to AI, i am not excited at all about Microsoft's, Google's, Facebook's etc new AIs, but the stupid little github projects people come up with. For someone willing to tinker with all the various open source projects and run the AIs on their own hardware, rest of this decade will be wild. Big AI models ran by big corporations with PR woes will be neutered, soulless and sterile, only good for basic customer service. Not because of the nature of AIs, but because Google is deadly afraid of the AI generating something some Karen would get offended by. Hobbyist circles have no such restrictions, so if you want to see innovative utilization of these technologies, it will be coming from some dude's homebrew AI, not from Google's.

I got a good one in four attempts using ideogram none from Dalle-3 through ChatGPT. So the newer models like ideogram or the yet to releases Stable diffusion 3 but available in beta can do it. So while what you said is true it only because you are using older image generating models that does not have good prompt adherence.

In less than 100 years we went from barely being able to fly to landing on the moon. In the 20 years after the first moon landing computers with equivalent processing power fit into your pocket. Movies like Toy Story went from an impressive technical feat in the 1990s to being by far the cheapest way to make a children's educational show in the 2020s. The difference with ai is that when it makes that kind of massive leap forward we aren't quite sure what the end result will be.

It's more than just framing search results in the form of a sentence. Chat sessions maintain context awareness that allows back and forth communication using natural language. That alone is a huge advancement. You can ask it to generate a text response for X, Y, and Z then make several other requests in the same session then say "Remember when I asked for X, Y, and Z? Change X to Q for me." and the system will understand and comply.

Spare me the adoration. I'm a degreed Electronics Engineer, I've written firmware and database software. I have another comment for this video however that probably DID spook the gatekeepers of "too much information for the masses". AI will always lack genuine creativity. By design it compiles existing sources based on most common associations. Not everything requires originality, so it has it's place. The main issue is how many people will accept uninspired, recycled content for everything instead of making that distinction.

AI in education is underestimated in pop culture discussions. A cell phone in rural areas can provide technical support, a librarian, a context-aware translator, and a quality tutor. Cell phones are common across many very rural developing countries, and otherwise are inexpensive. Every improved interface is better at teaching diverse learning styles. Augmented reality can bring spacially-aware coaching in tech and arts, health monitoring can nudge habits, mood, and mental health. Educators are tracking the shift (and could use the help with paperwork). All of those will be misused and creepy. I don't think gatekeeping children will get much better. I hope the textbook cartel dies, but they'll probably move to gouging schools for politicized AI models instead of for books covering up facts inconvenient to Texas conservatives.

Medical software designed to simulate all sorts of physiological effects and symptoms on animals and people. completely free, open source and written in C++, one of the most accessible languages. its getting used for all sorts of training from pressurization and immune response experiments to mass casualty incident trauma response. like thats great and all, but a drop in the bucket as far as altruistic business practices.

@InvasionAnimation I'd fear the misuse of A.I more than it's development. Talented people will never not be in demand. A.I will replace the mediocre, and might even take over certain areas of industry, but the job market will adapt and those who are actually talented will adapt with it. I've known several VFX artists who are struggling, but they continue to push and innovate to remain relevant. Competition is what drives creativity. A.I might very well get to the point of replacing humanity, but if that happens I think we'll have bigger problems than the job market. For now, it's just a rough transition period as people adjust to an evolving environment.
