Thank you - completely new slant on the bad times. Unfortunately i will have to start using my pension fund within the next 4 months. not great timing!
I hear exactly what you are saying but whilst I can accept roughly 5 more years of volatility, I really need to know there is light at the end of the tunnel. In practice, I have already liquidated circa 40% of my portfolio and into cash, with every expectation to either draw on it or take a cautious approach in drip feeding it back into the market. I'm at that age where I need to start spending before I fossilise much further! In other words I do not have the luxury of time.
You need to speak to an I.F.A. The transition from accumulation to retirement is different for everybody and only you know what (1) You want to spend (2) You want to leave behind for others.
The US market hit record high last week . I dumped all of my stocks and recovered all of my stock losses from the previous 2.5 years. So relieved. I'm too old to wait out another downturn. Good luck to you all in 2024.
Listen to ten 'experts' about the UK economy for the next two years and you will get ten different forecasts. An 'expert' on the wireless's Nick Ferrari show (LBC) this morning said the ONS reckons 0.4% growth next 12 months and 0.8% the following year., with no recession. They did say for an economy the size of the UK's it was very slow.
"Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one." Charles Mackay. 1841.
Really? Starting your video with some dumb click bait opener? C'mon both you and your videos are better than that sort of crap. Thanks for the great video too.
🙃 but it got you watching Kevin! Only joking and trust me, I hear you. I agree that most of my titles have far more hyperbole than I would like or that I would do if I were to set the rules of RU-vid. The thing is, I also know from experience now that the 'hook' is absolutely necessary. One of my biggest mistakes when starting YT was not paying enough attention to the packaging of the video. It's the way the algorithm works, YT doesn't watch the videos but bases whether it pushes them out to others from a lot of metrics, clicking on the video is one of them. When you put out a video for your audience, you're competing against ALL other YT channels, billion-dollar streaming companies, and all other entertainment basically. I do I think have a small audience who would watch regardless of the packaging of the video but as a creator, I also need to have humility that most won't unless it can grab attention. I appreciate your watching and your feedback. Something I try and walk the line on, admittedly don't always get it perfect! This is a great watch for context on it 👇 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S2xHZPH5Sng.htmlsi=BLC1V053FwiCqN7C
@@PrinciplesPersonalFinance Yeh, I hear you. The algorithm does distort the content, but I was referring to your first words, not the title. Is that in the algorithm? I doubt it. Whatever your content is good and you obviously work hard to produce these. So Thanks :)
